Congratulations Elliot. You're now a magi-cyborg. Get a better smartphone, fool! You now can watch Youtube videos and read internet forum threads directly via your body while superheroing. On second thought, let's not read internet forum threads, they are a silly place. -

Becoming more persuasive through drinking alcohol is really silly, I really don't understand what the devs where thinking there. As anybody knows, you tend to get less persuasive when drunk. Usually when you are trying to persuade someone through alcohol it's by getting them drunk, not yourself. Also, isn't this the first time we seen Grace (or any of the main castmember) drinking? Granted it is only in a video game fantasy sequence, so it doesn't really count. -

I really wish we'll get to see Susan and Diane meet before another date storyline. Sure, this date has been much more interesting than I expected, but I honestly have no high hopes for Sarah/Sam OR Justin/Luke. They might join the group eventually, but I'm in no hurry for that. This particular plot thread is much older and much more important. -

What Are You Watching?

I finally went to see Zootopia. It was awesome, well worth all the hype and every good thing I'd heard about it was true. Definitely the best Disney movie since Frozen (not that there are many inbetween, but still). I couldn't have been more wrong when I thought it was going to be as bad as Chicken Little when I first heard about it months ago. I may not be as prejudiced against any future movies about talking animals now. -

...yeah, that's not how alchohol works at all. It doesn't make people universally social, it weakens their inhibitions and shuffles around their motivations. how those changes manifest depends on the person, their mood, and how much they drank, and can be almost anything including; thinking everything is inexplicably hilarious (me apparently, I'm told i'm prone to giggling like a deranged lunatic when I drink), hitting on everything in sight, becoming the undisputed lord of snarky comments, deciding the entire world is your enemy and taking it out on whoever's closest, suddenly becoming everybody's friend, to throwing todler-esqe tantrums, just to name the reactions I've seen in person. -

...And I'm finally back on the forums. I'll have an avatar once more when I decide what to have. If Elliot can take pictures, he can take video. Are pictures and video saved to his physical phone? That's before we talk about DOSBox' having been ported to mobile, He could play Doom or Master of Orion. And that's just for starters. IIRC there's a Minecraft port to android/iOS as well... -
1 pointYeah, I dislike that too. As someone who grew with a drinking father, I know the horrors of alcohol all too well. And now I realize what the game developers were thinking: they probably believe the "alcohol makes you more social" trope. That annoys me very much, because it is simply not true, end of story.

This is one of my strong personal dislikes: when alcohol is somehow made out to be something funny or positive without bad effects. I am not commenting on Dan here -- he is merely portraying an element of the game -- but it is a trope that never fails to irritate me. -

I absolutely love it. Also, it is now confirmed: Elliot has a HUD. It should therefore be possible for him to play Angry Birds while in superhero shape. -

If it's one of the parody "Make fun of the show" shows like YU-Gi-Oh Abridged or DBZ Abridged, that's not really a replacement for the show, and doesn't fill the gap if someone was hoping for something to be good, but ended up disappointed. And (not saying this is what you're doing in this case, but I've seen it a fair bit on other forums) sometimes suggesting watching them as a replacement can come across as a way to brush aside the criticism of the show, in a "If you don't like it, go watch the thing that makes fun of it. Obviously you're THAT type and thus I can ignore your criticism" dismissive kind of way. (As an aside, I also really dislike those kind of parodies in general. I just don't find them funny at all). -

Oh my God yes. I still remember an infamous annual report from the Danish nuclear test station at Risoe. At the time it was led by a physicist named Dr. Hiller. Due to incautious use of the spell checker, his name was spelled 'Hitler' throughout the entire report. I am morally certain that the poor man did not deserve that. -
