    Things That Make You Happy

I just got a book in the mail. "Postwar AFV 1945-Present." Looks like just what I need to fill a couple of holes in my data set AND it has TO&E Data as well. This is my happy face

I predict Tedd's father faking a seizure at some point in the near future.

There is a class of writers that do "historical reviews" and what not that use "<SUBJECT> from <SOME YEAR> to Present" as a template. This can cause confusion when the book in question isn't, shall we say, current, so you find a book about the French Army, for example, list as "1816 to Present" ends somewhere right before the Franco-Prussian war. In this case, however I don't look gift horses in the mouth that much It's more or less correct "Present" more or less maps to 2010

Yep. That's going a be a fun day. I should have added this when I first commented on it, but I don't think Edward would do that now that Pandora's telling Tedd. If Tedd went to his dad later and asked why he never told him all this and Edward attempts to dodge the subject, it would only make things worse between them. If Edward really does care about his son, he should own up now that Tedd knows Okay, another conjecture: the reason that Tedd's father doesn't like it when Tedd spends time as a girl is that Tedd reminds him of Noriko in that form.

Does this dead-tree book auto-update regularly? No? Then the title is inaccurate. It doesn't cover a period ending in the present. It covers a period ending at some specific date in the past.

Once again, Dan surprises us by having characters talk to each other and share important information. You'd think we'd be expecting this more by now!

It doesn't matter if this work is an act of inspiration or insanity. It is appreciated and enjoyed. And it lets me direct my obsessive tendencies elsewhere.

Because having that horde of fire-throwers go into battle against people with non-magical weapons, and cutting off their power just as the battle began, was an effective way to get rid of a bunch of people who knew about and had experience with magic and thus would be more likely to discover the new rules quickly, and were likely to share the knowledge to a horde of people?
