  1. Diane's already gone from "lanky b*tch" to "she's my sister..." but it really depends on how much Diane has changed from her earlier views of males. I can see Susan taking issue with how Diane manipulated the male students at school into giving her attention and buying her stuff, I can also see Susan taking issue with Diane's fixation with Elliot if Diane still intends on pursuing him after this is over.

I hope we're not winding down!  We need to see Sarah trying out a male form again....I'm curious to see how she'll react this time.  Not to mention Ellen's reaction to two hunky male Sarah's....

That's still moving from "Grace shows forms preview" somewhere else, namely "Sarah testing new forms".

That's also assuming Grace turns back into hunky male Sarah. Which probably won't happen, we'd most likely see Grace in the MV5 form of herself again though.

What I do wonder, is if Grace would show off an MV5 of Ellen. That would basically be a beefier Elliot wouldn't it?

  3. Alright, time to see how the new forums handles my copypasta.

I kinda liked having Story and NP in the same place, as long as we had the little red tags on Story posts to distinguish them from NP ones.  However, I concede that if Dan ever starts doing Sketchbook posts with any sort of frequency again, things would get a bit cluttered.

I'm thinking more along the lines of when we get more threads going again, if I ever needed to look back at an older thread, it'd likely be easier to find if they were in their own section. Sure it'll likely still get to be an issue as more threads are made, but it'll take longer. ;)

Also there are the pinups that we had been using the sketchbook section to comment on, surprised no one has made threads for the latest round that went up during the forum downtime.

  5. I can see the conversation being something like this:

Diane: So how did you and Elliot get your magic?

Ellen: Well, towards the end of January of last year, Elliot was accidentally turned into a girl by Nanase's cousin. In an attempt to turn himself back to normal Elliot went and touched a magic diamond, him gaining the ability to change forms at will was one side effect of that.

Diane: That explains Elliot, but what about you?

Ellen: Well....You could say I was the other side effect of him touching the diamond.

Nanase: That's right! Your '1st Birthday' is coming up in a couple weeks isn't it Ellen?

The spellbooks don't just magically materialize in the possession of people who've just awakened. Jerry gave Susan hers, Mr. V gave Elliot and Ellen theirs. How they get the spellbooks is unknown; maybe wizards and immortals can create them. (Nanase has had hers for a while, if how she got it was shown then the Immortals gave it to her in France but I don't think it was shown.)

Nobody has given Justin one yet because nobody except Pandora knows he's awakened and she mostly isn't being that obvious. (HE doesn't know he's awakened - if Pandora gave him a spellbook, he would know.) So he's current in the clear regarding keeping up with changes to his spellbook.

Susan told Sarah and Grace that "it took less than a minute to give Nanase a spell book and power."

Here the problem as I see it. First  the spellbooks are not always as efficient as the could be. The language is archaic. The descriptions are complex, a spell or spell update can add any number of pages and they're probably not always tacked onto the end of the tome. We also don't know how good the Table of Contents and Index are. I suspect they list every spell and spell option in some way but we have no idea if it tell you what is new or updated. Nanase has a fairly hard time and she probably make the most concerted effort (though Susan would do so if not for her issues). Elliot isn't stupid and he's fairly diligent but he's not exactly cerebral and he typical learns better by doing something than reading about something. We saw how Ellen reacted to the idea of reading and considering her relation to Elliot (daughter/sister/magic female clone) I would imagine he'd share the same reaction.

She also might have given him a book (hiding it amongst his other belongings) and didn't let him know (which would so be like her if she did).

About Ellen's aversion to reading, there is the fact that the panel after Ellen's reaction "...but reading though", we have Elliot going "Oh hey, a bookstore! we should remember where that is for after we eat."  It's quite possible though Ellen's reaction is more in the context of "I'd rather be out searching rather than sitting here sifting through all the reports" and she'll still read books if they happen to be something that interests her.

  7. Well Elliot was in a rush to get everyone out of the area before anyone showed up to investigate the explosion (not likely but hey Elliot doesn't know that everyone just shrugged it off as leftover fireworks) that he just didn't think to ask if it was a good idea to go to Charlotte's or not until after it had already been decided.

    Hey all.

Been a bit preoccupied. I am now back to see what is going on. Hope all is well here.

    ~tOH.

Very strange seeing you without your pundit hat (aka moderator title). Hope you can handle being one of us until that's been remedied. ;)

Kidding aside, I can't wait till we can get all the sub forums remade for Story, NP, Sketchbook and such, before this gets too cluttered.

So...like, they already all drove back to Charlotte's dorm, and didn't clarify where everyone was going before driving off? Huh.

Well, Tara and Andrea were still off to the side sharing a moment when the rest decided to meet back at Charlotte's, so they didn't really have a chance to voice their concern and suggest an alternative until it was just Elliot left.

Also It did occur to me after my previous post that another possibility that Nanase's fairy doll spell didn't work was either because of Tara with that magic claw that would have dispelled Elliot's superhero form, or the Immortal causing interference to prevent outside magical intervention.

  10. It's possible Nanase has been to the wooded area, or at least near there while jogging. Also it might still be close enough to where they were that it wouldn't be much trouble. On the other hand if the superhero form itself is what's preventing Nanase from sending a fairy, maybe high resistance or just outright blocks those types of spells, then it would be a simple matter of Elliot morphing back to normal to let her do that. If that's the case, I wonder if Elliot would have to hang up first or if the phone would just appear in his hand still connected with Ashley? :)

  11. I'm not sure it'd go that far, I think those, while they might show a big difference when used on males, might not change a lot when used on females, at least above the shoulders. Like the MV2 and 4 examples look rather androgynous as is, but then it is using Susan as an example so those variants would likely have different results on a male. The feminine male variants would likely take whatever effect it'd have on females and apply it to males. Like if instead of Justin getting Elliot length hair for MV2, he'd get Susan length hair in M-FV2

  12. I actually was confused how Ashley would know that Elliot couldn't be using his phone to answer her, but then I realized that Ashley would have been able to tell by Elliot's voice that he was still in superhero mode and come to that conclusion herself. I can imagine Ashley had already dialed Elliot's number when Ellen mentioned the possibility of it not working, which would explain her surprise that it did work.

  13. I think Nanase would at least remember that some spells can gain extra functions like her fairy doll's glitter, crystal ball and fae punch, so she would at least check back with many spells to see if they can do something new, however, I can see the subject of customizing the outfit being a bit more obscured in the the part of the spell that describes the actual creation of the fairy doll, something she probably never expected could change. Now that she knows that every aspect of a spell can get stuff added or changed, she'll probably be more thorough.

  14. Earlier on though Nanase was reading her spell book pretty much every day while she was trying to get non sneaking spells. She was surprised when Tedd chastised her for not keeping up with her spell book, which she thought she had been, it's possible she hasn't been reading it every day lately but I'd think she'd at least be looking at it twice a week, which would still probably be the most out of everyone in the main 8 that has a book.

And I was saving up for a massive adjustment to the slow-mo tug of war (I was at 12+)

I'm curious about which direction you would have gone with that. ;)

The look of the new forums is going to take some getting used to for me, though I already see a couple features that will be useful, IE the file attachment method and hey look!! A like button! :D

  16. Nanase does, but apparently not as often as she thought since she didn't know about being able to customize fairy doll outfits, then again, something like that could have been easily overlooked.

Aside from Nanase, Susan never was eager to learn new spells after awakening due to how she awakened and how she got magic in the first place, I think after being told about the stuff she could possibly do with the fairies, she might read up on it more often.  Ellen would probably flip through her book occasionally but not very often. The last time Elliot probably looked at his book might have been after he got the superhero form and secret IDs.
