For the same reason that Ellen seems to keep up with her spellbook, sure we haven't actually seen her showing off new spells lately or actually reading her spellbook, the fact that she hasn't had any "I didn't know I could do that" moments and people have only teased Elliot about it is enough to believe that this is definitely one of those aspects of Elliot that Ellen's made an effort to not keep. Considering even Nanase had those moment and she DEFINITELY reads her spellbook, she might just be lucky as opposed to actually study it that meticulously.
  2. Yeah, this is mainly a case of Dan already establishing in canon that Ashley's hair had dark green high...wait...Ashley was never in any of the coloured story arcs was she? Just coloured in sketchbooks and pinups? So maybe dark green isn't canon. Well, colored panels of comics were generally though to be canon, but ... yeah, might not be canon.

It was the sheer speed. The entirety of the jump took less than a minute to complete. This meant an airspeed of some 2000 miles per minute or 120.000 mph or 33 or so miles per second. That is around four times escape velocity. Soo over 53km/s, with Sun's escape velocity on Earth orbit being 42.1km/s. Yeah, totally lost.

He only started to say it was awesome, he corrected himself pretty quickly based on what the fire guys did. I much prefer his other, full Awesome, which was strictly for being able to summon his little friend, keeping her a secret. I was referring to the fact that he stopped with awesome because he likes the comic shop. That implies that if he would summon the fire guy somewhere where he doesn't like it, it would be awesome. I don't think Dex have social skills to try something like this. But otherwise, good idea: in glass sphere (or triangle), the fairy could "play" a hologram. I can totally see someone putting fairy in glass sphere as part of costume, say Link (or Chain), Peter Pan or ... well, I don't think wizards hang up with fairies, but maybe I just don't know one who do. I just think Dex would be too shy for something like that. EDIT: ... somehow overlook this. Yes. Even without "lots of crystals", most people would more likely accept hologram than real-life fairy, so no need to spend too much time on it.

I think it's more likely she hits something else than what Kitty wears, because unlike us, she doesn't want to embarrass her by possible wardrobe malfunction. Also, Rhoda is already aiming with her palms, there's no indication she needs to do anything beyond pointing them in the general direction. ... right. She likely doesn't actually need to aim, just think she's aiming is enough. Still, she might not believe she will be able to hit shoe, and therefore she won't. How so? It's already established that Kitty is obsessed with cat girls and that she has an outgoing personality and doesn't hide her feelings. In fact, this is basically everything we know about her at this point. It's not a stretch to assume that missing this chance to meet two genuine cat girls would result in a moment of despair and that she would vocalize it audibly (sobbing, crying, wailing etc.), especially if she comes to the conclusion that she scared them off. Rhoda and Catalina would still be close enough to notice this (also: cat ears) and they're definitely the type of person who'd turn around to see if they can help. And if they don't want to hide any longer, their enchantments end - that has been confirmed by Pandora. Last but not least, don't forget that Dan intentionally created Kitty as a person obsessed with cat girls just for this storyline, so there's probably a purpose for this trait. He didn't need a character like that just to chase Rhoda and Catalina into the department store (they were already running there when they encountered Kitty), so there should be another reason. My guess is that Dan's thinking was along the lines of "What would convince Rhoda and Catalina to come out of hiding? Well, they'd leave their hiding place if someone was in trouble and in need of their help", so he came up with a way to make that happen. And yeah, that's just a hunch, but I think it's a coherent argument and I would like it if the story turns out that way. The way you originally phrased it, it sounded like they fail their hiding, and I don't think they would be THAT stupid. Although explained like this ... I can imagine them trying to transform back, being distracted by Kitty's sobbing, then saying something like "we can't go look what's happening while we look like this" which would be followed by the enchantment ending. AFTER that, they will go check on Kitty, deny seeing any catgirls (or at least being them) but somehow make her stop sobbing anyway. Alternatively, they simply fail escaping/hiding from Kitty. Intercontinental ballistic missiles have longer range and also move ballistically, don't they? I would expect that jumping in way your trajectory resembles ballistic missiles would be possible. You would also suffocate few minutes after start of jump, but you WOULD fall back to earth. Or it was JUST the speed and not distance which was problem? I don't agree that it's confirmed. If Pandora figures that within half an hour either they'll have successfully gotten away or they'll be in a situation where attempting to hide would be pointless, but the enchantment-tangle will wear off after more than half an hour, then (she'll believe) they won't be disenchanted "until sometime after they no longer care about hiding". Also note "until sometime after" - not just "until". Implying a possible significant delay between the not-caring and the expiration. Good point. I'm sure the shop owner would quickly remove any transformed clothes and not allow anyone to buy them. In fact, buying them might be impossible due to anti-theft devices not working correctly after resizing. No, there'll be a safety feature that they can't shrink too much while being worn. It will still stop being comfortable. Also, the safety feature is something Tedd deliberately added, Rhoda might not have it in her spell, AND it may work only when transforming, not de-transforming. In fact, Rhoda specifically talked about how she needed to get naked to not destroy her clothes when growing. So, no safety.
  6. Story Friday January 20, 2017

I'm pretty certain that Firefly still has a pretty strong fanbase despite it only lasting 14 episodes. That's why I said "maybe". (Note that Firefly having any fans is almost miracle, considering what Fox did to it ; also note that I like River Tam, but I'm not sure if I would still like her if it was longer or if she would move in different direction that I would like ...)
  7. Maybe, but I don't like his reasoning. Just because comics is in greyscale doesn't mean the EGS reality is greyscale - there IS color to everything, even if Dan doesn't choose which one. On the other hand, people can change hair color, even if it doesn't change "spontaneously". Also, the commentary is funny but again, it makes it less canon than the image. She obviously greets Elliot and obviously pretends she just ended up in this pose doing an exercise routine (although in reality, she noticed someone is coming, guessed it was Elliot and changed her routine a little ; of course, being Ashley, she admits she did that in next five minutes ... wait, maybe don't. She successfully didn't mentioned her reason to leave jackets in car was to show Elliot her clothes, after all).
  8. Story Monday January 23, 2017

Uhh ... why? No, voicemail is to make the caller pay more for contacting you. If you aren't able to talk with recipient directly, it's MUCH better to send him text than to leave voicemail, for reasons CritterKeeper mentioned. I have a normal ("dumb") phone for calling. I also have something the vendor called smart phone, but I'm pretty sure it's tablet, because it's too big to use it for calling and can't send texts. (Ok, the fact I put SIM designed for tablets inside might contributed to the text bit ...)
  9. Story Friday January 20, 2017

A full cosplay costume, especially one in Greg's size, is a hefty investment, usually of time and money both. It's not usually something you create and then only wear once. Hmmm ... ok, didn't took this into account. That makes even more weird (or maybe uncommon would be better term) Greg cosplays as Chun Li. If anything, I usually see the opposite -- if your favorite show is cancelled, then cons become the only place you're likely to find other fans of it. Whether the con's programming includes any panels for the show, or shows episodes in the anime or video room, or whether you just wear an iconic item (like Tom Baker's scarf or a Star Trek uniform, or a T-shirt with a classic line from the show) and wait for people to recognize it, there are ways for fellow fans to find each other. And when you do, there's an instant bond, just like we saw with Greg and Dex. That makes perfect sense EXCEPT it obviously didn't worked in Dex's case. Either he failed in that iconic item choice, or he didn't find any fans. Based on it being cancelled after 22 episodes, maybe it doesn't have that many fans ... and even Greg, who is big fan, cosplays as Chun Li instead of character from Lucky Bunny Bounty Show. (On the other hand, Tedd has it and Ellen liked it ... can't be that bad ... wait. It's likely both liked it due to fanservice. Might not be good base for bond. Alternatively, maybe fans usually deny they like it in public BECAUSE the level of fanservice and fear they will be labelled perverts.)
  10. Story Monday January 23, 2017

I was going to implication that it's ONLY kids. (Although I'm sure that's not literally true ; it would, however, make sense that people who expect text messages to be answered promptly have more attention drawing alarms for them, while people who don't have attention drawing alarms for text messages often fail to answer them promptly ...) You definitely get bonus points if your text tone correctly guesses content of the message more than 50% of time.
  11. Story Monday January 23, 2017

Many people have their text device set to make an alarm at least as loud and attention drawing as their phone ring tone. Some kids maybe. Mine is two beeps, while the ring tone is three minutes long MIDI (ok, I think the phone isn't actually able to play it whole ...)

    Open Accessibility Framework? Cheaper?
  13. Story Monday January 23, 2017

    1) It's even worse with EMAIL. Some kids expect that email will always arrive immediately after sending and complain if it doesn't. Oh wait, it wasn't kid, it was my boss (who already HAVE kid, so definitely older). (If email arrives four DAYS after sending, it's still considered correct behaviour of all computers involved.) 2) The disadvantage of call is that you can interrupt something. People don't always like being called, especially when sleeping.

Aiming at shoe of running person might be difficult. Unlikely. Considering Noah is not (fully) human, that's given. And summoning of tonfa.
  15. NP: Friday January 20, 2017

Or fire elementals, for that matter. :/ Bases on his "awesome", I wouldn't be that sure.
  16. Story Friday January 20, 2017

There are Gyms that have fitness classes and personal trainers, the classes would of course be on a set schedule, but personal trainers can have more flexible schedules. Greg's position at the new dojo could include both, doing one or two classes a day with groups of students and a couple private sessions with one or two students each. I wouldn't call training in dojo fitness class, but yes, it can be gym which has "normal" fitness classes as well as martial art training classes. Dex can still go to events, but if he's too shy to approach people, he may just end up wandering the conventions and not really interacting with people, or maybe he does try but it doesn't work out too well, but he keeps going because he enjoys the events in his own way. (Forgot to comment this before) Unless Greg USUALLY cosplays as Chun Li, it doesn't seem they met multiple times. That obviously doesn't mean they only were on single event together - they could miss each other in the other cases. Also, it's possible that Dex visits multiple events but it's Greg who attends sparsely. But I still consider more likely that Dex isn't visiting so many events. It's also possible he stopped visiting events or lowered the frequency after they cancelled the Lucky bunny bounty show ... if he's visiting events based on program instead of people, he could only go on events with program he's interested in. (Is "program" the correct word? Or "schedule"?)
  17. Story Friday January 20, 2017

I meant Greg owning the ASMA dojo as in the business mainly, it's probably more likely that he was leasing the building. The point was that with the ASMA dojo, all memberships would have been through him, whereas at the new place he's working at, memberships would likely be through either the owner, or whoever the owner appointed to handle book keeping. Considering Grace and Ellen are able to train their abilities, it's possible the dojo allows for private training outside of normal business hours, but it may still be exclusive to members only, so if Nanase, Elliot and Justin were to want to help Grace with her training, they might need to get memberships as well so that Greg wouldn't get in trouble for using the facilities to give free lessons. First, I have no idea if him leasing or owing the building (might not even be whole building) is more likely. I repeat, it might even been his home. Wait: Just noticed that he mentioned he's going to miss this place. Also, considering the big hole in ceiling, it might need reconstruction anyway. (Also, the hole is directly into dojo, so it's probably not that tall building.) Second, assuming they are using facilities of new dojo, it certainly isn't for free ; it can either be for members, or it may be "if it's paid, we don't care who's there". Again, no idea what's more likely. The way he was talking about it (private lessons first, teaching position second) implies that the private lessons are not related to his teaching position ; that may be either because they are NOT using facilities of new dojo, or they technically do but the dojo (business) doesn't own the dojo (facilities) and only leases them for specific hours, and he can lease them at other hours. (As an example, the facilities may be owned by school and used for school before and around noon, and available to business in afternoon.)
  18. Story Friday January 20, 2017

I'm pretty certain Ellen was originally always supposed to train with Grace, it was just that first time that Ellen had "sexy plans" and Elliot agreed to take her. There might have be other times that Elliot went, or maybe Ellen, Nanase and Grace went, Justin claimed to still work out too so maybe there were a couple occasions where he filled in if Elliot or Ellen and Nanase were unavailable. Though realistically, it's likely that Grace and Ellen are paying Greg for training or more likely since Greg would be just a teacher and not an owner like he was with the ASMA dojo, they would have to have proper memberships to be able to train there. Hmmm ... I'm not sure how exactly dojos work (and it may be specific for Greg's dojo anyway). We know that he closed his dojo for new students and instead started working on other dojo, but did he sold (or rent) the old dojo building or was it his home anyway? Is this new dojo exclusive owner of some place or is it renting place somewhere, with the place being available for something else other time? Extreme case, he might actually just get students and the study program from somewhere else where they couldn't fit people into When Greg was talking about his new teaching position, he mentioned that he will be giving private lessons to Grace - obviously, the training with Ellen's beams wasn't public. She is still likely paying him of course. Ok, reformulation: including Ellen's beams was relatively new idea. They likely trained more "traditionally" first and included Grace's telekinesis later. Note that Nanase specifically said she may not want to start over in new dojo and Elliot was also sceptical, and Justin's reason to jump at that option might've been just because he assumed they will go as well. They may train individually or have private "lessons" with Greg as well. When Dex first entered the dojo, Greg stated that he looked familiar and asked if he'd been to any Anime conventions. Dex later confirmed this when he later asked if he had seen Greg cosplaying as Chun Li, so it would appear that they attended the same conventions before becoming friends. ConventioN. Dex is pretty memorable so it might've been just single event. Or, maybe he has one periodic (yearly) event he is visiting. I just don't think he would be that lonely if he would be the type to visit all conventions happening around. I wouldn't be so surprised if Dex is wearing stuff like this even normally. Stuff Noah and Melissa might have done together? Melissa knows Noah's secrets, or at least the fact that he has magic and does stuff as the Shadow Guy, there must be some other cases of him doing stuff, especially if Luke wasn't talking about the dragon fight when referring to the Shadow Guy. She likely knows because he is excusing himself from their dates, not because he would be bringing her with him. Technically, yes, obviously they would be hanging together, but it might not be important enough ... like, it's not like we are counting skipping Adrian Raven's history classes, or any other classes. Sure it's also happening, but it's something we regularly skip even outside timeskip when it involves characters who had focus minute of comic time ago. (Although, yes, the criteria of getting something on the list would be hard to specify exactly ... but even if Noah is regularly fighting aberrations, he isn't point of view character often enough to say we are missing it. We didn't saw Andrea fighting those other vampires either ...) That is one-time event, not something we missed happening multiple times. And it may later appear as flashback and/or NP story.
  19. Story Friday January 20, 2017

Last we saw of that was after the timeskip and he was still uncomfortable with Grace's casual mention of breasts. MV5 also gave a glimpse of Grace making Greg uncomfortable, but yes, between New and Old Flames and End of an Era, there likely were plenty of moments like that. Oh. My mistake (I though it was before timeskip). In that case, maybe including Ellen was relatively new idea, but we certainly skipped lot of Grace's training with Greg. They must have gone to an anime/comic convention as well right? We've seen Sarah and Susan attend one (though sadly it wasn't canon). A Greg and Dex attending a convention story would be interesting. Not necessary. I imagine Dex wouldn't want to go to some big event with lot of people. He mentioned game night, though ... maybe that includes someone else than just Dex and Greg? While this happened after the timeskip as well (he met her at a New Years party), Dan really needs to reveal who the lucky girl is before people get the pitchforks out. Right, also after timeskip (note: it might not been party, new years eve is just name of day, right?). Ok, so we can't count this as happening in timeskip, any other idea for point 10?
  20. NP: Friday January 20, 2017

The key aspect here would be personality, also in Sarah's case Pandora would have likely known that Sarah was checking for marks for some time, probably ever since she learned about marks from Susan. So Pandora's estimate that it would take a few days for her to figure out how to cast the spell would have been base on Sarah's eagerness to use magic. Catalina is a wild girl and so it makes sense that the time it took her to accidentally use her spell would be pretty much immediate, however, Rhoda had for some time, been pretty quiet, shy, and while she did hang out with Diane, she didn't like to have too much attention on her, which was pretty evident when we saw her with Justin. The conditions for her to accidentally use her spell might not have been there until the boar. Except not wanting attention is something which could plausibly make her shrinking. It may not be her D-rank talent which makes it hair-trigger ... but, yes, this may be possible explanation. She might have, but we do have canon in the "Marker" NP that Pandora is picky about who she marks based on the type of affinity or yearning. She wants to mark people with specific personalities and yearnings that would be fun to watch cast spells as well as the spells being noticeable by the general public. But she still had MONTHS and I'm sure she realizes quantity is also important. On the other hand, she mentioned that she was looking for people to mark around Halloween because there is higher chance for yearnings which would be useful for her plan. It's possible that even before Halloween, she already marked almost everyone with any talent (well, not "any", it must've been more obvious talent than Sarah's one) and it's just the search for people with useful yearnings which is slow. I'll rephrase, Dex doesn't seem the type that would summon fairies in public, not without an Immortal manipulating him. Fairies flying around near bars in morning would attract attention too, it's just close to closing hour when it's unlikely to be noticed. I would say it differently: Dex MIGHT be the type that would summon fairy in public ... IF he get somewhere which can be considered public. It's the "being in public" part which is so hard to happen to him. It's possible that before meeting Greg, he only visited the COMIC SHOP once per month and without hanging around ... Also, even if in public with fairy, she would likely keep hiding, unless he would get comfortable ...
  21. Catalina's comment about lesbians making out in dressing rooms means they definitely got more intimate, only question is if it already includes nudity ... but I would assume yes as well.
  22. Story Friday January 20, 2017

We DID get sort of summary in current NP ... but, yes. Also, 7) ELLIOT transforming to lot of various girls. 8) Grace training with Greg and Ellen. Come on, Greg may not be pervert, but he will certainly adapt and help with Grace's training even if it involves big breast. 9) Greg and Dex watching lot of anime. They couldn't stop just at one, right? 10) Greg's girlfriend.
  23. NP: Friday January 20, 2017

Well it would have been exactly 2 months from the time Pandora appeared on TV (March 12) to Rhoda using the spell (May 12th). The only explanation I can think of is that considering Pandora's comments about Rhoda in the current NP, if Rhoda was the first to be marked, Pandora could have got bored waiting for her to do something with her spell and so went and marked Dex and Justin. Her estimate for Sarah, actual D-rank talent with S-rank spell, and one which is pretty hard to activate, was several days. Sarah did it first day. Catalina casted her spell in something like half hour. Rhoda, a S-rank talent, lasting two months without casting her spell seems extremely unlikely. Also, Pandora PLANED from start to mark multiple people (I'm still not sure why she didn't marked more ... wait, maybe she did and we just didn't saw them yet) so I don't think she spend so much time watching them ... in fact, if she DID marked Dex and if she WOULD observe him for some time she would notice Voltaire.
  24. And IS this stacked tall Rhoda or another pinup? (Oh wait, it says "single" ...) I would prefer full body shot as well, but maybe Dan though Rhoda doesn't have enough ribbon. Also, I would prefer if Dan would seriously answer which of those pinups are canon. Although this looks pretty canon to me ...
  25. http://www.egscomics.com/egsnp.php?id=566 ... not what I would expect, but definitely more hijinx. Pity Catalina can't do anything to her ... but wait. Pandora will soon do something and Rhoda will then assume she did it ...
