Those falling bills couldn't actually be THAT much money. Just because you already have a lot of money does not mean that you would not jump at the chance to get a lot more. Note that Nanase said she would do it for "millions" (of dollars), not the mere tens-of-thousands-plus-expenses that us mere mortals might command as a fee. Especially considering she's likely true about that "sport" costing lot. Maybe she WAS loaded but is broke now. Of course, those adventuring archeologists often have a lot more than lawsuits to worry about when one of the people who thinks the stuff still belongs to the deceased is the deceased... Or if one of those who thinks the stuff belongs to the religion is the god of that religion. Also, archeologists like Lara Croft or Indiana Jones might've destroyed quite a bit of those tombs when digging into them ... AND in real archaeology, the information about where exactly the item was could be more valuable than the item. EVEN IF ITS GOLD.
  2. Story, Wednesday October 17, 2018

Regardless of what she decides to do with this information, we still need to see more of Diane's reaction, and in particular what her thoughts on the matter are. That's going to take at least an entire comic, most likely more than one. I wouldn't expect to see Diane asking Lucy out or otherwise attempting to resolve things with her until at least next Monday, and maybe not until sometime the week after next, assuming there aren't any interruptions and we get a resolution to the Diane/Lucy thread in this story at all. ... actually, with the next comics having eight panels of Diane staring back towards Lucy ... wasn't there a comic like that, with Elliot thinking for seven panels? Why not triple date?
  3. Funny that Raven has not one but TWO students who could do this - Ellen and Rhoda. Although if he's going to get even shorter then it would be Rhoda for sure. And Columbus DID discovered America, he just wasn't first one (that would be natives) nor first one from Europe (that would be Leif Erikson). He didn't know it's there so it still counts as discovery. Maybe he already did. He may be sneaky.
  4. NP Monday October 15, 2018

Well, she did copy Brownie.....but yeah there wasn't anything mentioned in the Ellen Demo NP so probably unlikely. Copy spell WAS mentioned and it would only make her cat if she aims it on cat and catgirl only when she aims it at properly transformed Kitty or Catalina (or, I guess, Tedd).
  5. Story Monday October 15, 2018

I am pretty sure even Susan would agree that she is not exactly the best person at dealing with interpersonal relationships of the dating variety. "Even"? Susan would be first to say that.
  6. http://egscomics.com/egsnp/assorted-18a-017 Dan, look behind you. That ship might be already returning from her voyage around the World. Also ... it's probably looking more like this:
  7. NP Monday October 15, 2018

True. Makes more sense, although Ellen is now half-dragon. No. Elliot only gained it AFTER they split. So unless she got it as separate spell, which was not mentioned ... That's what I was referring to. Probably both. Might work in this universe, although in canon that would be top secret ... Aberrations are also half-human monsters. Despite their fluffy look, I don't think Nanase would refer to them as cool. Although they likely though it's cool.
  8. NP Monday October 15, 2018

Cool half-human monster? Is she referring to Ellen? ... easier to arrange than you might think ... ok, that is DEFINITELY reference to Ellen Thanks.
  9. Story Monday October 15, 2018

Ok. Seems Diane spend all her courage and doesn't have enough left to admit her reasoning to her friends. Well, it DID required lot of courage ... ... is Diane really angry when hungry? Is she aware NANASE is? Or at least better than Susan here
  10. http://egscomics.com/comic/tlod-024 ... yes, even Diane considers the reaction weird. (And she got down from the table before any teacher appeared.) PS: Regarding those wordy dorknerds: They are totally virgins, because they never tried. They have other interests than women.
  11. NP Friday October 12, 2018

Just speculation here; if you wanted to know for sure you'd have to ask him and hope he actually answers, but... I suspect at the time he was thinking something along the lines of, "So long as I don't show nipples or genitals, I can't get into too much trouble for this." (Or if he wasn't concerned about the comic being labeled as adults-only, that was just the boundaries of what he was comfortable with at the time.) I suspect at the time he wasn't thinking about it. That came later with age. ... meanwhile, now he communicates mainly over twitter, instead of going here and meeting the perverts (Ok, I know there are people here complaining when characters have too big boobs ... so maybe the '00s forums were more perverted.)
  12. Story, Friday Oct 12, 2018

Probably "Whoa". However, it's very unlikely that was only time they interacted. Just only time we saw it. ... true. He's unlikely to ever saw her doing something like this. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Dan wasn't planing him to see it - wait. .... hmmmm ....
  13. http://egscomics.com/sketchbook/2018-029 "Nearly every customer" is probably nearly every repeated customer, newcomers couldn't be aware - wait, is shop like that having any newcomers? Is Justin waiting for newcomers? Because that would be best time to transform, given that the repeated customers buy just a bit more ... Hmmm ... two female Justins in row? Does it mean something? ... oh. (I would say this one is more pretty, but thats to be expected - this one is actively trying.)
  14. Word of Dan

Lucy's name is claimed to be coincidence.
  15. Story Wednesday October 10, 2018

To be fair, there WAS silence and apparently those two started arguing quite quickly so noone get to the laugh ... on the other hand, laugh isn't that hard to get to ... ... will it be Adrian Raven? (Still surprised the table stayed still when she jumped on it. Also, are those the same shoes she was walking in outside?)
  16. Story Wednesday October 10, 2018

And that's how we know this is fantasy. 1) Suspiciously high number of people who are virgins despite trying not to (seriously, is there noone on whole school who really IS as easy as Diane was perceived? It looked as BIG school ...) 2) Lot of people willing to admit they lied in public That's all. What? No, don't be silly, there is nothing suspicious about vampires and wizards ... Definitely natural 20. Waaaait ... could it be some innate magic ability? ... EDIT: Waaait again ... is that the same girl who was dating Good Tom? ... ok maybe not. She should be from the other school.
  17. Story Monday October 8, 2018

She's had rumors about her, we don't know exactly what they were (I don't think the incident with Pandora appearing on TV with Rhoda would be the only thing people would talk about), we do know they were negative but Lucy stated that they weren't as widely accepted as the ones about her and Diane as there were people willing to defend Rhoda. It's hardly rumors if they don't spread at all.
  18. NP Wednesday October 10, 2018

Ok, so she's reusing quips ... but it's because she has so small list, or because the crime rate is so high? Also, while the thug seem to be pointing the gun safely, I would still say that this is NOT good time for discussion and she should consider the possibility he just want to confuse her and then fire - and proceed with the beating.
  19. Story Monday October 8, 2018

While Susan had her hair dye messed with, it was more complicated case than burnout. I think that despite the apparent trolling of Ellen, rules for burnouts are simple and consistent and yes, they don't mess with hair dye. Yes. Also, she likely got completely red hair after her burnout ended and switched them to the mixed ones before playing with fairy ... we didn't saw it but that was why Ellen asked. I guess she can scratch with left hand behind right ear too ... but not counting deliberately making it harder for herself, her spell is supposed to be general disguise spell and while originally limited to hair, it certainly can do more than Tedd's watches with five form limit and/or hard to use dynamic ones. No, it reminds us (or at least me and Susan) the Romulan hair style. If those people are supposed to be there, they will be there no matter if they were shown as silhouettes or not. On the other hand, Dan used Ellen's silhouette before she appeared in comics, so there IS some prior case of using silhouettes ... ... Rhoda already doesn't have any problems and WE are not sure if Lucy had sex, she definitely would have same reason to get such reputation as Diane regardless the association. Of course, that said, it MAY be what Diane will try.
  20. To be fair, the change is less "spontaneous" and more "we can't talk about why it happened". There certainly ARE cases where someone transform someone else and disappears, or when someone transforms themselves without meaning to, but I guess in most cases DGB can remove the enchantment. So this would be more like covering the fact people and possibly cameras saw the change before DGB got there. Not sure if it's easier to get random transformations accepted or to explain those people there was some hallucinogenic gas involved ... I think the hair color change got classified as medical condition because it's relatively easy to accept as one AND pretty common. ... meanwhile, gender swaps with tail? ... waait, Elliot did convinced teachers to cover him relatively easily ... sure, it helped he looked almost same, but still, maybe it wasn't first time teachers needed to cover gender change? ... Anyway, if it wasn't issue before, it WILL be issue now, with magic going more and more public. On the other hand, DGB already stopped covering that magic exists ...
  21. Story Monday October 8, 2018

It's not canon whether Nanase ever got back the hair spell she lost last spring saving Ellen from Abraham. A change in hairstyle by whatever means would seem prudent after all that flying around asking people about Ellen. She never lost that spell specifically (why would she?). She "lost" it along with everything else by being burned out, and that already ceased. She can change her hair anytime she wants with her magic. In fact, if you look at her current style, she is constantly using it to keep the hair half black half red - because without it, the line would move ... also her current hair color should be red as she's not burned out. (... there MIGHT just not be enough time for it to show, but I think Dan mentioned it somewhere ...)
  22. Note: I think Justin will still be able to reach the blue binder ... but not the green one. Also, agree with stealthyProboscis (and Serith): it's bad idea to put hand on the binder on second shelf. It's not gonna provide any support. I'm sure Rhoda had something to do with it. ... meaning its not nearly random
  23. Story Monday October 8, 2018

Nanase? Haircut? Why would Nanase need haircut? Remember that haircuts cost money.
  24. NP Monday October 8, 2018

It's completely believable that if you put a bucket over someone's head he will not notice you stole something. It's less believable that they will let you put a bucket over their head. ... I would probably realize that too if not so focused on what's with that barrel. Maybe. It was a while since Dan did it last time.
  25. Story Monday October 8, 2018

He was in background to hint that Diane was thinking about apologizing to him. Well, I've always had the impression Diane is the leader of the group; if that perception is shared by her schoolmates, the kids may think, "If Diane never did it, Lucy probably didn't either." ... that would be very unfounded, nevertheless possible.
