*snort* This is EGS, home of the ignored plot line for over 15 years.

If you consider a "date" as getting acquainted, I suppose they've been on fast forward.
Elliot's response fits, in-universe. In real life I would say, "Elliot you need more grounding. You've seen each other in exceptional circumstances, see if you still like each other with some normal dates under your belt." Not to say that people can't ever bond quickly, but it tends to work better if they're older and know themselves; and it has been pointed out that Elliot is weak in introspection. Ashley seems a little better at it, but she has little experience with dating, and Nanase's concerns, "Seriously? No questions?" may reflect perceiving immaturity in Ashley. To be fair, Elliot's recent showing initiative may reflect overall maturing in his character over the last school year.
Eh, <shrug>, I'm sure it will work out within their setting.
Another question is, "Where are they carrying all the shoes they keep dropping?" I'm waiting for Wednesday for yet another shoe to drop. Must be what the backpacks are for.

Liz seemed to think so.
"Technically" uryuoms have magic magic again.

Forgot to respond to this part too.
Both Elliot and Ellen believe that Magus should be allowed to return home, Ellen would like it if she got a chance to actually talk to Magus about who she is and all that. I believe Arthur wants to help him get home as well, but first he wants Magus to apologize to Ashley.

Who is Smoke?
If Grace is correct in the wizard assessment, then I would offer a few guesses.
Smoke is an inexperienced wizard.
Smoke has, thus far, only learned transformation spells.
Smoke may be under the impression that transformation spells are the only spell type Smoke is able to learn.
Smoke has never knowingly encountered a significantly more powerful wielder of magic or someone with alien abilities.
Smoke has been playing with magic and was probably a big fish in a small pond.
Grace is the Shark in the next pond over.

Brave Sir Smokey ran away, ran away...
Now I want the sandwich that Camdin is eating.

And turns out I might be right in this case:
He's not distancing himself now, but whether he goes back to doing so or not remains to be seen, he doesn't seem to have any obligation to, but maybe old habits die hard?

Gee, none of you think Arthur's daughter is Sybil, the only person we've seen who seems to like him?

Huh, that was unexpected. Arthur having a daughter I mean.

Now we must wonder who is Arthur's mysterious daughter?

I could think of a number of reasons why Ellen might resent that event as well, chief of which was that Nioi pulled that one on her without her informed consent.

Maybe more like the havoc she would cause while looking.
Incidentally, I called it with the security cameras, rather to my satisfaction. It would have felt really stupid if the place didn't have any.

But Arthur, as a Seer, is a "well of power". So while that ring may be a very small catalyst, Arthur should be able to use it anywhere, while other wizards might only be able to use it in high ambient energy areas or drain their own energy reserves. Dan tweeted as such:
So maybe Arthur's "wizard with a quirk" was refering to the fact that he also figured out how to make catalysts that let him cast spells, but they either only worked for him or they ended up having very limited use by other wizards.
Speculation: Maybe Arthur's being accommodating to Tedd by giving him a lab to research increasing people's resistances because Tedd kinda reminds him of himself when he was younger, trying to figure out magic and such.

With magic being more abundant in Magus' universe, it would make sense if the people there had higher resistanced as well, either naturally or with the help of magic spells.
I bet the ring Arthur's wearing might be a kind of wand, it wouldn't surprise me if Arthur too had figured out how to make objects that let him cast spells.
And the reason I believe it's the ring is because someone on discord pointed out that he wasn't wearing the ring when he woke up from the meeting with the WoM.

Magic resistance could render Sleep spells ineffective.
There's only so much space left in the storyline. I remember Dan saying this part is the last non-epilogue one.

We have the diamond's remains evaporating, a single crate very near Ellen appears to be the only crate that was open prior to the golem and wand emerging, and text from that golem showing that the wave of magic that awoke it, the wand, and the bird mostly flowed into Ellen. That the color has no connection to a mysteriously colored gem that is called a diamond despite being green seems to be stretching things a bit too much. I'm all for watching what is actually said in the comic and for checking your assumptions, but there is a limit to how much we can avoid speculation. I could easily be wrong, but that's why I say "almost". My opinion on the color's source is based as much on knowing Dan's writing styles as what is literally said in the strip, but the amount of emphasis he's given on the DD's colors and on Ellen's new hair color, despite the massively added complexity of color based hints in a greyscale comic seems to be either an exploding barrel of red herrings or to actually be connected.

Her waist looks about normal to me. Are you sure the line you're looking at isn't the edge of her jacket's pocket?

Or maybe he knew that kind of thinking was going to happen and foolishly believed he could put a stop to it. He was wrong of course, this is the internet, where saying "not this" will always result in someone thinking "it must be this".

Dan made quite a point in the commentary that the effect on Ellen had nothing to do with Sirleck.
Perhaps even too much of a point?
Could this be an elaborate ruse?
Is this something that happens after a body snatcher departs?

Alternate theory 1: the golem made the diamond, in order to seal up whatever magic was in the wooden core.
Alternate theory 2: someone/thing else made the diamond in order to hide the core from the golem.

I hope Ellen is acting on her own will now, but the "groar" isn't exactly reassuring.
