I've been betting on that for a long time. But there are at least two questions that follow: How does he want Magic to change? And who is the "they" who are supposed to listen to Voltaire? Is the Will of Magic something controlled by Immortals? Or can it change Magic for the Immortals as well as humans?
-
A notion came to me that the story is unfolding so slowly here because of the limitations of the comic format. I thought if this was a video, we could have a split screen showing two or more things happening at once, such as one for Adrian fighting, two for the conversations Diane and Susan are having, one or more for witnesses watching, talking, and/or fleeing for their lives, etc. But then I remembered that Dan actually did something like this once in So a Date at the Mall.
-
Or maybe they were coded with XML?
-
The only clue I know of is that Dame Tara thought Helen and Demetrius looked like brother and sister.
-
I actually had a mechanic in mind for summoning Noriko. Diana desperately wants Nanase because she knows Nanase helped Susan kill a vampire, but Magic decides she really wants Noriko, who is a true hunter, and who is the spitting image of Nanase. I would only bet a very small cookie on that happening, but I can hope, at least until Friday.
-
Not a hunter, but at least as effective as Susan's hammers. Greg? I wouldn't bet against it; no one else in canon has a personal force shield.
-
If Rhoda helps.
-
More likely for her to think of Raven as her father.
-
Ah, but can she glow, like Tedd?

Quantity has its own quality, as Stalin said (and nobody alive can say he didn't coin the phrase.) However, if what Scarf Guy said about the other vampires is true, the key criteria seem to have been "Stupid enough to take the job." Maybe Diane can use her cheerleading moves to distract some of them. Or just wave something shiny.

Seems plausible, if over-the-top. Basically that's saying "Love is dangerous." But a life without love? However, Pandora is a widow. Widows are allowed to hook up. Maybe Pandora should. And then we could have a whole new angst-driven arc about how conflicted Adrian feels about that. Hey, maybe Pandora has hooked up. Remember that new girlfriend Greg has that we've never seen him with?
-
You mean like the Spanish Inquisition? The Salem witch trials? Pogroms? Maybe not so paranoid. One reason for inventing that lie could be that even without pointy ears, children of Elves might not age like regular humans. Another could be that they do age like regular humans. Imagine knowing you would outlive every child you ever have.

I'm wondered whether Immortals or Elves even have permanently fixed sexes. For some reason I can't put my finger it just seems approrpriate for EGS. But there's that huge resemblance besides the twin things. Since Blaike died before Jerry's life began, Zeus doesn't know what Blaike looks like. He does know that Adrian is Pandora's son, and, of course, he's had a really, really close look at Pandora a moment or three ago.
-
Whatever Zeus knows, he knows a great deal more than Helen or Demetrius. Unlike them, he did have a proper reset. Maybe more importantly, I think he has quite a lot of the attitude Jerry had crafted by the end of that life, which included humility, reasonable restraint, and tolerance--all qualities that Voltaire lacks.

Obviously there are enough issues to resolve between Tedd and his Mom and his Mom and his Dad and Tedd and his sibling(s) he doesn't know about yet for a whole arc on its own. I'd call it "Noah's Arc" but there will probably be a Noah arc. However, I'm not joking about it being appropriate to bring Noriko into this arc
-
Hmm. Magic about to change; Tedd has a critical function for a magical change; Only time we saw Tedd with his mom she was with Adrian. Yeah, I'm sure there's a much better time later.

There's a thought I never had. Good one, quite plausible. There's an archtypal character in GURPS that can only teleport ten yards (or meters in the foreign editions) but that's very useful. I don't think it would break EGS. An Illusion spell, something like Nanase's color clones, would fit the sneaky part of Diane's persona. But her MOS seems to be "Vampire Hunter" so I think her first spell should fit that. However, summoning Nanase would be a great kludge about now, and summoning Noriko would be an awesome gotcha! I'm talking the level of Luke calling Leia back at the end of Empire gotcha!
-
Goya thought so. I saw Saturn Devouring his Child when I was in Spain.
-
Hmmm. Nanase hasn't specifically been tagged as a summoner of magical weapons--but I think her Aunt Noriko has... Yeah, I know Diane wasn't there when Agent Wolf spilled the Noriko beans, but Pandora's had days to talk with Nanase, and even if she doesn't know about Noriko at all, Pandora probably does. And even if Pandora doesn't, a general "Summon someone who can help" spell could still work here. Diane: Nanase? Noriko: You know my niece?

So, another opportunity to dust off my old theory of Elliot and Magus getting stuck in the same body, in which case Dan would be obligated to bring in Terra to compete with Ashley and all the others with a thing for Elliot. How about a castling spell? That is, an analog to the chess move where you shuffle the position of your king and a rook. Say, Diane switches places with Susan. Or perhaps even more appropriately, a spell to summon Nanase.
-
In that case it could have already happened during the car ride in Part 21. Oops.
-
I can't believe that Pandora hasn't given Diane a mark by this time. Maybe she can kill vampires by hugging them now.
-
It could eliminate a lot of stuff--maybe including aberrations. Now that's a weapons-grade get-out-of-jail-free card to play.
-
Pandora is waiting for something. That something might be forcing Voltaire to reset himself, or to give Pandora an opportunity to tear him to pieces. After all, he's the one who's really pulling the strings, the final boss in this game. At least he looks better than Bowser.
-
Which could make the only person in danger Pandora. She'd lose the person she is now.
