Tom Sewell reacted to Pharaoh RutinTutin in Story Wednesday September 12, 2018
My Id, however, has made me into the most remarkable human being ever. Just ask it.

With a pen in a sore hand, I can imagine young Diane finding the old copy of Robert's Rules in the school library and writing down the plan for how she and Lucy and their friends would deal with boys.
Resolved, the bylaws for the Girls Association of the D E Shive Memorial Junior High School shall be as follows:
1. Boys are Gross
1a. Unless we find a boy we like, in which case
2. Boys are Gross
2a. Except for the boys we like
2b. Unless a boy we like annoys us, in which case
3. Boys are Gross

Now I'm feeling bad about Lucy. She was once just like Rhoda, insecure about herself and how people treated her, then Diane came in and helped boost her confidence.
Now Diane's behaving like Lucy once did and that's whats got Lucy mad, she's seeing the person who helped her feel better about herself crumble in front of her.

That's because they don't spend enough time in solitary.

Tedd didn't know what being genderfluid was until recently, Edward apparently doesn't know either, I think Tedd's been lucky that Elliot and the others have at least understood why Tedd switches back and forth even if they didn't know the term yet.
It depends on if Tedd's feeling male at the time. I almost said that it also depends on if Edward is home at the time as well but Tedd was recently seen being assertive about being female in front of him (even if she didn't feel like being female at the time), so let's say 50/50 chance.
Yeah, it's apparent that Tedd had probably changed back to male before going out searching for Elliot, Ellen and Ashley.
Or Tedd was still female and Nanase never mentioned that. Can't really fault Ellen for using the wrong pronouns if she didn't know, right?
Do you think Arthur might be interested in the possibility of making more wands like Kevin? Even if it's not him that makes them how would he feel about someone making more?
Dan's stated that Ashley and Sarah are probably going to be spending more time together, I mused that it'd be interesting if Ashley managed to learn Sarah's simulated time freeze spell and they were able to enter the same simulation together somehow.
But yeah, seems like Ashley's going to learn about Grace pretty soon too. That's gonna be fun.

Both Diane and Lucy are actually huge nerds, but they hide it even from themselves, even more so from each other.

Gee, none of you think Arthur's daughter is Sybil, the only person we've seen who seems to like him?

Some parts of the EGS story play out like an extended Candid Camera stunt.

Arthur's face muscles may have gotten more exercise in this comic than in all his previous life. Who knew?
And once again Ashley proves to be as good as Pandora thought she was back in Marker: She's concerned if Kevin is all right. She thinks of Kevin as a person.

The conflict involving the Uryuoms, Humans, Magic, the Library, and the Hecka Figure (possibly the current holder of the Mantle of Hecka, more likely a predecessor) was over a VERY long time ago.
But if the Golem was unaware of the passage of time while deactivated and crated, then it would not be unreasonable for it to take the reactions of some scared, magic using teens as the delaying tactics of light infantry or guards who need only slow their enemy down while summoning reinforcements.
Stopping to talk with anyone in the warehouse at this point would probably be about the least plausible course of action for the Golem.
If the Golem presses the attack, Elliot, Ellen, Magus, and Kevin(?) might be able to defend themselves. Possibly even damage the Golem further. But I doubt they could deactivate it intact or convince it to surrender and submit to questioning.
On the other hand, if the Golem does attack, the mile wide crater is, perhaps, among the best possible outcomes.
The long term threat is if the Golem decides to retreat at this point. It will look for its commanders or allies. And who out there would be in a position to know the ancient Golem's language and repair the damaged brute?
Voltaire is about to get a henchman.

Well, Sauron was a man,. Men don't ask for directions. It's in the man code. There's in-canon proof: Ellen, a woman no more than hours old, stopped to ask Phil for directions. Meanwhile, did either Tedd or Elliot ask for directions? For all we know they were in Canada by the time Hedge gave them a lift. And all this could been avoided if Tedd had remembered to design that belt to turn Elliot into a catgirl. Talk about a really stupid omission. Tedd should really do all his research as a girl. Maybe a catgirl, as long as there's no yarn or vacuum cleaners around.

Adrian is the only Elf we've seen in canon, but he isn't unique, which means that Immortal-human sex is allowed as long as it is consensual.
Unless Hanma is posing as a fully adult human woman, Greg shouldn't accept her as his girlfriend. To his own embarrassment and shame, Greg is not a dirty old man

If there were a lot of wands like Kevin, I think it would help limit the number of wizards.

Kevin the Cowardly Wand has so far been more of a Barrel of Schtick and a Brown Trowser Job.

Tom Sewell reacted to The Old Hack in This Day In History
Yeah, I know how that works. A friend of mine comes from a family of deep sea fishermen. One fine day as his uncle and his crew were merrily trawling the Baltic they caught a mine in their net. Some people might have cut the lines and gotten the blazes out of there. Some people aren't my friend's uncle. They secured the mine as best they could and tugged it back to Danish territorial waters where a naval explosives detail could get at it and disarm it. My friend's uncle spent that entire trip IN THE WATER holding the mine secure so it wouldn't accidentally bump the side of their boat and go off. I swear that man must have had nerves made of stainless steel.
The mine got safely disarmed and my friend's uncle took his crew off for a drink. I'd say they had all earned one. Admittedly the man himself was closest but with a mine intended to sink a warship that wouldn't have mattered. Their little boat would have been absolutely pulverised if the mine had gone off.

It's a little late for me to be noticing this, but one of Dan's big premises for the New Year's Eve Party in Family Ties is Diane's sister Rhea not letting her drink until ten minutes to midnight when she turns 18. But the minimum drinking age in Illinois has been 21 since 1980, and before that it there was only a seven-year period when the drinking age was lowered to 19.

Magus whole "I'm a better battle mage as a man" thing strikes me as pretty much a rewrite of Tedd's "I'm a better cook as a girl" thing at Grace's birthday party.

It's Dan plotting out the preliminaries for his new cult movie project, Talk Club.
Rule One: Do not fight about Talk Club.
