From some of the turkeys I have met in the Danish educational system I am well able to believe that.

Reminds me of a story my late friend Jens told me of the time he visited Moscow. It was in late autumn. One day the temperature was 20 degrees Celsius/68 degrees Fahrenheit. Twenty four hours later it had dropped to minus 20 degrees Celsius/0 degrees Fahrenheit. I am starting to understand what fun it must have been to be a German soldier in the drive on Moscow in late '41. Or better yet, a soldier in Napoleon's army in 1812.

Some marks would. Tedd has very, very little direct magic of her own without the ambient magic to help her, which makes it different. The other difference is that Tedd's mark spell can make the change permanent, which the TF gun cannot bar extreme measures such as pregnancy. Tedd's problem is what she wants her default body to be.
-
Tedd knows nothing about how imminent the change may be and she DOES know Sarah is working to bleed off the excess that lets his watches -- and his Mark -- work. She has plenty of reason to worry.
-
For all Tedd knows, it might. In fact, for all we know, it might.

This falls back to the entire idea of EGS being a big awkward moment. However, I am far more interested in the entire dilemma Tedd is confronting. It is a serious one. Gender dysphoria is no small thing and Tedd is confronted with it in a wholly new way -- one that directly involves her dreams of making magic safe for everybody and the fact that she now believes them impossible to achieve. I think Tedd is doing this because in the middle of the mortal complications of a possible magic system alteration and the likely loss of the power that made her watches function, this is the one problem it is within her power to deal with scientifically. She may not find a good solution, but at least she can gather data.

I remember this one time a Senator left his party to become an Independent. This caused a great many people of his former party to send him angry letters or even threats. One of these latter was a photograph with a gun aimed at the viewer's face. This particular case turned out to be fairly easy for the involved investigative agency to solve. The idiot who sent the letter had kindly provided it with their return address.

Real life can be terribly addictive. And discovering something about oneself can feel unpleasant but is usually a good thing. Once I realised just how blindingly jealous I was of my brother, and how unnecessary it was, a great deal of my own issues became far more manageable.

I said nothing about them using slow snails. In fact, they only employ the finest Arabian purebreds.

While I sympathise, I also heartily approve of Herr Doktor's strong desire to keep you among the rest of us where you can post your thoughts and regale us with tales of Signor Mlunatico's latest escapades.

Damn but that guy is living in the fast lane. I could start to get really envious of him. o.O

I understand that APCs in the Danish Army use snails.

And importantly, the effects are no different from what direct rejection would be. It still hurts Tedd and causes pain. That pain alone is enough to render Mr. Verres unsafe. That he may mean well does not matter. There is a place that is notorious for being readily accessible by way of good intentions and this is where Mr. Verres is currently steering his relationship with Tedd.

Only high end Bentleys and Rolls Royces. Most other cars are stuck with old-fashioned hamsters.
-
Damn, Amazon Prime is getting efficient.

Tedd no longer feels safe with their father, and therefore does not trust him. Sad but true.
-
That's udderly ridiculous.

Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

*sigh* Well, we have your backs as best we can. Vent to us if it gets really bad. And as always, take care of yourself. -
Okay, okay. A five year old. *grumblemuttergrumble* Whoever was in charge of programming Voyager's computer security system should really have made a better screening method than just: DO YOU WANT TOTAL ACCESS TO ALL SECURE FILES AND SYSTEMS Y/N DO YOU WANT TO LOCK OUT ALL OTHER USERS Y/N
-
That is unfair to the Independence Day aliens. For one thing, the humans had one of the aliens' own computers. For another, they had Jeff Goldblum and Will Smith. Whereas in the case of Voyager, various aliens routinely log into the Voyager's main computer with no access to either Earth technology or Hollywood movie stars. Voyager's computer 'security' is so crappy that a three year old with an abacus could probably completely screw all their systems over in a matter of minutes.

But then Orwell would have lived in vain. *sigh*
