Come on. It was only ATTEMPTED overthrow of the Republic. Why shouldn't he get another shot at it?
  2. Political Discussion Thread (READ FIRST POST)

Biden's policies are extreme in the sense that they are actually accomplishing something. The current crop of Republicans are anti-accomplishment and as such they do everything they can to sabotage them.

If there had been even mild amounts of common sense in this situation, his political career should have ended back in 2016 when he publicly asked Russia to interfere in the election. But even then most Republicans felt it was a just great idea to ask a totalitarian dictatorship to sabotage US democracy in order to get that absurd strutting posturer installed behind the Resolute Desk.

Trump has just stated that cognitive impairment will cause Biden to lead the US into WW2. I find the irony staggering.
  5. Sleep shopping

Well I think the Sphinx will have to order naps in bulk pretty much by definition.

I agree with the sentiment but I would put up with him even in Danish jail as long as he at least got jailed.
  7. Sleep shopping

My partner once got six economy-sized bags of cat treats she didn't remember ordering. When challenged on the matter, her cat pretended to complete innocence.
  8. Cats, Dogs, Other pets.

Huge advantage: Explorer the Cat doesn't yap.
  9. Cats, Dogs, Other pets.

At least the dogs don't become politicians.

I wish. They are representative of the GOP. For example, Ron de Santis could not have gotten his law put through without the backing of the entire Florida GOP among both Senate and Representatives. Marjorie Taylor Greene is Kevin McCarthy's right hand woman, a position she would not have if she were an individual nutcase. Mike Huckabee was *cheered* by the crowd he voiced his violent rhetoric to, and he is by far not the only Republican using violent and threatening rhetoric. Poorly thought out laws are enacted with depressing regularity in every political system I have ever heard of. You would need to do a lot of talking before you could convince me that the Republican party was the sole exception to this rule. I do not consider these in any way the equivalent of hate rhetoric aimed at promoting civil violence and genocide.

I am curious about this as well. Please give examples of Democrats who have said or enacted more unhinged things than: Marjorie Taylor Greene, who claims Jews have started forest fires in California by means of orbital laser cannon Mike Huckabee, who recently stated that if Republicans do not win in 2024, the next election will be decided by 'bullets not ballots' Ron de Santis, who has effectively enacted the death sentence for being a trans woman in public by 1) making child molestation punishable by death and 2) claiming that being a drag queen or trans woman is child molesting. Oh, and changed procedure so you only need 8 out of 12 jury votes for a death sentence rather than an unanimous jury vote. Of course it might be that you find all of the above perfectly reasonable, in which case I suppose I have earned a death sentence from any reasonable government. ~tOH.

I dunno about that. It wasn't a high ranking Democrat who accused me, my family and a whole lot of other people that share our religious ancestry of committing massive scale arson on the US west coast by means of space lasers.

  14. The Weather.

Anyone in Florida please take care. I know that forecast has it arrive as a category 1 or 2. But I worry that it might pick up more strength on its way.

I feel honestly relieved. The county clerk of Hodgeman County, Kansas is somewhat less likely to start making speeches about how neighbouring Pawnee County historically belongs to Hodgeman.

As Hitler demonstrated in 1936, democracy is a lot easier when there is only one candidate available to vote for.

Ah, that must be why his three day special military operation is now on day 548, NATO is bigger and stronger than ever, the Russian military is an international laughingstock and Russia's standing in the world is in the toilet.
  18. Generic Table top gaming.

So it was literally foaming at its mouth?

I don't know. I have no personal experience with being a megalomaniacal genocidal dictator but this does not strike me as having been Putin's smartest possible move. It just seems like taunting the Law of Unintended Consequences.
  20. Homelander versus

Well I am kinda bored so I decided to do something silly. People love to argue about which superhero could beat which so I am creating a list of what would happen if Homelander got into a fight with various heroes. With no further ado here goes. -- Homelander vs. The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl Homelander stands no chance here. Squirrel Girl wins hands down. She's unbeatable. It says so right there in her name. -- Homelander vs. Deadpool Deadpool wins. It will most likely take him a whole movie and will certainly involve fourth wall breaking, ludicrous amounts of weaponry and gratuitous violence, completely undeserved luck and a lot of really terrible jokes, but at the end of the day Homelander has no chance here. -- Homelander vs. the Spider-Verse Obviously Homelander has no chance here, I am just really amused by the mental image of infinite Spider-Heroes dogpiling that POS. -- Homelander vs. Kermit the Frog Kermit wins. You'd think that even Homelander could beat up an innocent nonviolent plushie frog, and yes he can, but as soon as Miss Piggy notices what he is doing he is done for. -- Homelander vs. Cyclops Homelander wins. He will make that whiny-ass Scott Summers his b-word. Congratulations, list, you finally found a 'hero' I hate even more than Homelander. -- Homelander vs. Thanos Who wins? Who cares? Nobody likes either of them. Let them fight. -- Homelander vs. Galactus Galactus eats the Earth and wins. It was a mistake to let Homelander handle that one. You need real heroes to handle the Planet Eater. -- Homelander vs. Mr. Incredible While Mr. Incredible's victory is a foregone conclusion, Homelander will nonetheless somehow be defeated by the fact that his costume has a cape. He should have listened to Edna Mode. And finally... -- Homelander vs. Elon Musk Obviously Homelander will pound Musk into a thin paste but once again the mental image is so very satisfying so I am including the matchup anyway. That's all I can think of this time. More silliness may or may not follow later or you can add your own. Have a good time. ~tOH.

Obviously Grace is completely nuts about her.

I wonder if there is a FAFO server. If there is, it must have been RED HOT for a while now and this won't have helped much.

    Awesome, I just bought popcorn.
  24. Homelander versus

Obviously. She is unbeatable after all.
