*PlotHole opens and both Regent and Celia plop out, apparently unaffected by the noclip since they just came from a parallel dimension* Regent: I don't usually advocate for things like this but would anyone mind putting up a trigger warning next time you mention the game? Celia: *milking the giant cow* BEEEEETRAAAAAAAAAYAL! (warning: strong language) R: *unplugs ears* You done? C: *perky and happy* Better. R: So, what's going on here... *both watch as all local parties are seen clipping through objects* C&R: noclip is on... C: That remnant person seems to be trying to turn everything back to normal again. R: I'll help. *turns NOCLIP back off, adds another line to make sure that nobody is stuck between walls or anything after the clipping* C: Is everyone alright? *Regent continues to fiddle with the console* C: Rex, cease and desist! Who knows what other things may happen if - *inputs coc MiddleOfNowhereKansasCircaLateOctober2016 and everyone is plopped back through space-time toward this location*
  2. Last Post Wins

*awkward dancing stops momentarily as they're both distracted by the sign* Celia: *Phonetically works out T H E G A M E* Regent: Oh... Uh oh... Celia: *sees the red mist* *incoherent angrish* *lunges towards the sign* Regent: OH LORD *opens a PlotHole to parts unknown in front of Celia* Celia: *enters dimensional rift* Regent: Guys! Warn a guy the next time you make an Ultima-related joke! She can crush planets with the anger it induces! *follows her into the PlotHole*
  3. Things You Find Amusing

Earlier today I was buying food from a store, and on my way back I was watching this girl, probably around 7 or so, playing with her pet duck. Somehow the young lady taught the thing how to do an odd waddling dance, and fly up and nestle on her shoulder like a a parrot would. Kudos to the kid, she's good with birds apparently.
  4. What are you bookmarking?

Definitely agreeing on the weird stuff; I've got papers on Discourse Analysis, a Dota thesis, some game-related bookmarks, image sources (some OK, some not so much), and so on.
  5. What are you bookmarking?

This comic for some reason, also Gustav Holst's series "The Planets" specifically Mars, the Bringer of War.
  6. This one I've been ruminating on for a while now, and since this site has a whole lot of creative types just popping in and out, I thought why not go here and open this thread up? What I want this "Storyteller's Exchange" thread to be is a thread where anyone can share their problems about whatever little story or project they have cooking with their peers, and have it commented on and analyzed by anyone with an idea they feel might help. So I'll start us off... How the world do you guys even get things started sometimes? Seriously, I've already plotted out a 4-part anthology series of (visual?) novels with just the first one being up in the air because of time constraints and college work. Guys I may need help with this one, how do I get started and keep going? Seriously my Id grows ever crazier with each passing day when I haven't put pen to paper. Quick Edit: I intended this thread to be used for anyone who has a writing-related problem so feel free to post about your own problems and have the rest of us have a look-see if we can help.
  7. Corrupt a Wish

Granted. *Hands him a very clean "Vision" action figure* I wish to know which is the most common PlotHole-generating device in fiction? I'm still trying to work out if the Chekhov's gun or the Red Herring are included in the formula...
  8. Last Post Wins

RR: Well I have now; thanks! I'll keep this noted. CM: *clears throat* RR: Oh... right... uh Snowflake what are we even dancing at the moment? CM: I have no idea. *slow music kicks in* CM&RR: Oh... RR: I'm not sure if we shoul- CM: Rex, this is what you and I stayed for - you may as well enjoy the moment. *smiles brightly* RR: Well, I guess there are worse things we could be doing near the end of time.. *the pair dance in a waltz-like fashion* RR: Which reminds me, who the hell has the freaking remote? I suggest they fix everything and skedaddle out of the end of time before we end up doing something to screw with the space-time continuum and break boundaries where none existed beforehand. CM: Agreed, the last thing we need is another convoluted subplot involving this idiot *refers to Regent* plunging the universe into another war. ToG: *plops out a PlotHole* I heard that! *exits through another PlotHole*

One of my biggest problems with the text editor right now is that... it turns the text white ._.

...we shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight in the seas and oceans, we shall fight - with growing confidence and growing strength - in the air! We shall defend our island, no matter the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields, and in the streets; we shall fight in the hills. We shall never surrender! And if, for which I do not for a moment believe, that this island - or a large part of it - were subjugated and starving, that our Empire, beyond the sea, armed, and guarded by the British fleet, would carry on the struggle, until in God's good time, the New World with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue, and the liberation of the old. - Excerpt from Winston Churchill (1941)

Does Churchill's "We shall fight in the Beaches" quote count as a threat?
  12. The Association Game

Red Dwarf, you are so referring to something like Red Dwarf.

  14. (+/-Bad) Jokes Thread

Guys, what do you call a college course on Marxism? ...a class struggle! I got another joke for you too... ...my love life!
  15. Last Post Wins

*Everyone except Celia and Regent leave; all the while expressing that they have no interest in dancing* RR: Well that's a twist I didn't see coming. CM: What? Did none of the others wish to parley? RR: Nobody wants to dance dude, especially me. CM: And yet you are still here. RR: I have to be here; it's my current assignment to make sure that the Win-thing is in a state of constant movement. CM: Well consider that the win has been made unto a crystal ball being used for this dance party; I do believe it is secure at least for the moment. RR: Well that's true, but still- CM: *extends her hand* Will you pleasure me with a dance? RR: ...Eh why not. *Awkward future-dancing ensues*
  16. Things that make you MAD

I just wish to express sympathies on those folk in New York with that bomb that went off a few days ago. Although it's still unclear whether it was terrorists or not, stay strong dear friends; they wish to instill fear in those whom terrify them most, so do not give them any chance to do so.

RR: You think we should start building something like that? Seriously I could legitimately help flesh out the RP-verse in my spare-time. Or should we just float around like this? ToG: Just saying can we put a moratorium on using time-dilating devices, portal guns, continent-sized warships, and the like? Except for characters that have that as their shtick, like Prof Tomoe of course. Honestly, I was retired from active RP-use because, well, your boy Regent here grew out of that phase, that and eating up the Last Post Wins thread with Zorua et. al. long ago has become something he's mildly ashamed of. RR: It was a good idea for the time, hell it helped me cope up with what was going on in my life when I was having it rough (namely moving away from the family and adjusting to college life) - and letting my creative id go amok with generally good, if mixed results - but I feel like I really hijacked it for everyone. Sorry chaps. *bows in sincerity* Also, it's a thing I do, someone uses something big like a planet-cracker, a dimensional relay, an entity that exists outside of time, and the like, I start building hard counters like Continent-sized warships, entire countries that run on core power, crisscrosses of classical literature, mythology, and lived experiences that technically only really make sense only in my head. SS: Like Saturnite! Wait can I say that? RR: No harm done in saying it. SS: Ohkay then... um... yeah, all honesty boys, I really shouldn't even be here. Unless I'm just doing a cameo, which i guess I am. Max, Carol, ToG, King Bera, and the rest of the summoned strike force on both sides: *generally agreeing that they really shouldn't be there* CM: Should we continue with any of this? Everyone else: *collective shrug* *Regent has a headache* ToG: Something tells me he's in a bit of conflict with himself at the moment. RR: Oh Lord yes I am, but it's nothing severe. Just... maybe a bit of guilt over spilling my thoughts like this. Note: I'm writing this in half-in-character but this is basically how I genuinely feel at the moment.
  18. The Association Game

Hold on a second, didn't we already go over this?
  19. Things That Make You Happy

For me this thread just became self-demonstrating. "Additional supply depots required."
  20. Things You Find Amusing

While I was watching a review of Angels of America just after watching another review of Gerry (which the content creator said was an artistic tribute to video games), I noticed this: What's more amusing is that the twitter thing happened again, since I tweeted this same image to Kyle Kalgreen, and he retweeted it saying it was the "Play of the Game"
  21. Last Post Wins

*Reality fades in and out... again* Regent: *realizes something is up* Wait a second... Large dark metallic surface, thousands if not millions of ships on either side... big glowy orb thingy at the center of the ship? Celia standing right next to me? Celia: *waves* Hi guys! *flying kiss* Regent: King Bera of Sodom ominously floating in front of said big glowy orb thingy? King Bera: *something that roughly translates to: You're too late! With the phase crystal charged and with the war fleet in place, soon your reality will be MIIINE!* Regent: ...I think I should just use Saints Row logic for this one. Celia: Good call. *Regent fires a high-powered shot from his coilgun that physically knocks him down, while Celia using an Energy-Amplifier crystal sword concentrates her Varlic energy to fire an arcane bolt of similar power and resulting recoil* *With their powers combined... they just barely distort the crystal* King Bera: *something that roughly translates to: FOOLS! YOU DIDN'T THINK THAT WOULD BE ENOUGH TO DESTROY THE CRYSTAL DID YOU? YOU'D NEED THE COMBINED POWER OF ALL THE HEROES IN THE UNIVERSE TO DO THAT!* *A large chunk of the Phase Crystal chips off; the phase crystal then begins to rip a PlotHole open just behind Red Regent and Celia* Regent: *hears a sequence of notes that brings a smile to his face* King Bera, I don't know if literary theory was a thing back in your time, but there is a thing called "tempting fate". King Bera: Eh? *Hundreds, if not THOUSANDS of heroes from Red Regent's continuity leap out of the PlotHole, including The Old Guard, and his associates, the Continental, and the rest of the Philippinian Fleet, Sasha Saturn and the Saturnite Sergeants, Gemini Squadron, the Jesuit-run Ecclessiae Militantis, Kane (HE LIVES!), as well as Task Force Guardian. Regent: Hey Me. The Old Guard: Hey Me. Maxwell Santiago (TF Guardian): Hey Me. Regent: Where's Che- *muzzled by Maxwell* Maxwell: We don't talk about she-who-betrayed-us-anymore. The Old Guard: Hey, you're the one who retooled her into your love interest/antagonist in your continuity! Regent: What? You work with what you know, and all I know is PAIN. *Maxwell and The Old Guard nod in agreement* Regent: OK then, where's Carol? Carol Sanchez (TF Guardian): *levitating above them while totting a mage's staff which crackles with magical power* Over here! Sasha (Saturnite): Hey guys! *Sasha receives a warm welcome from Regent, Celia, Max, Carol, and ToG* The Old Guard: Hey Regent, Celia, where are your armies? *Maharlikan aircraft and vehicles roll through the PlotHole, as well as Varlish Retainers and a Panzerdragoon* The Old Guard: ...spoke too soon... King Bera: *something that roughly translates to "Oh, crap." *Bera desperately summons an army of minions to hold off the coming fight; fighting ensues*

*keeps shooting until his coilgun overheats* Alright I'll tell you what's going on - or at least what I think is going on - those aircraft are not of this Space-Time continuum; same as me basically, they're from the 7th Multiverse; they're a faction called "The Drowned Ones", mad sorcerers and ultrapowerful beings that enslave other lesser races and plot to control or destroy every other incarnation of the multiverse they can find. They're a threat to all existence and must be stopped! Fuego! *with the coilgun sufficiently cooled, Red Regent resumes firing*
  23. Last Post Wins

*Everything temporarily fades into nothingness and then Red Regents finds himself and whomever (and whatever) he was with in a vacuum of white nothingness* Great. where are we now? *checks watch that refuses to move* Hmm... great void of nothingness, almost nobody present here except whoever was with me just now... Pucha we're at the beginning of time, aren't we? Wait, no... this is before time or else- *A large, Ark-like vessel floats by overhead* *speechless for several moments* Oh Lord... Seriously. Guys, if my guess is correct we're at- *several trapezoidal aircraft begin attacking the large vessel which starts to shoot back* No! This timeline will not be tainted by the usurpation plot! *produces his coilgun pistol and starts firing at the trapezoidal aircraft* Guys, no time to explain; take those aircraft down! What's inside that vessel is necessary for the survival and existence of the universe as we know it, and if whoever's attacking that ship is who I think it is, they're here to bend the laws of time and space and become gods! Fuego!
