Rereading the "Family Tree" (New Year's/Not-Tengu) arc, I just realized something that's either a completely new theory or perfectly obvious to everyone here. Either way, I tried to see if anyone else had commented on it, and found nothing, so here goes.
Sarah:
Magic spell that lets her see things without physically being there
"The last person [Mr. Verres] found with your spell was strong-armed into government work."
"Top secret. Spooky stuff."
Agent Cranium:
Works in the government doing "spooky stuff"
Worked with Mr. Verres before that stopped being his job
"I have ways of observing places without actually being in them."
So, what do y'all think? Probably right? Probably wrong? Completely obvious and discussed a hundred times already somewhere I didn't think to look?
