Are you irritated that Explorer beat you under the bed and now she won't share?

My thought is that a perhaps unexpected side effect of Pandora trying to retain her memories is that she feels horribly inadequate, always comparing what she is to what she was.

According to one definition of the word, it also sounds like they're trying to create a tyrant.
(That would be a definition that includes one of the connotations the word acquired while passing through Latin: a usurper. It also acquired the connotation of a cruel or abusive ruler. In Greek, it just meant an absolute ruler.)

Odd thing is, an actual broken record usually doesn't sound like a broken record. But a scratched record often does.

Chat GPT? I've seen jacket covers that had obvious spoofs of the author's life. Write about how your parents sent you to Earth before your home world blew up, and you were adopted by traveling folk singers.

She is a canid.
Several years ago we saw a fox going through the RV park we were in. It had stolen a toy that the folks and dog in another RV had left outside. The fox was throwing the toy (about as ineffectively as you'd expect) and then chasing it. Four or five times that I saw.

Oh, one other thing - Mrs. Prof strode out of the computer area Saturday afternoon and pronounced, "Someone loves me, and it isn't you," with a grin on her face. She then showed me a pair of silly-looking cat slippers that someone for whom she had done a favor had sent her as a gift. Nice, comfy looking. Still, not a challenge one should allow to go by if at all possible, and in this case, I had a retort. You see, I had ordered her a birthday gift - a pair of lab-grown diamond earrings (small diamonds, but that's all I could afford) - and I'd hoped to give them to her at Friday's family Thanksgiving get-together. Well, UPS thwarted that with late delivery, but they did deliver while she was out running a cat errand Saturday morning. I'd opened up the package and was ready to spring it on her at the proper time, and wouldn't you know it, she presented the proper time with her little "someone loves me" remark.
So, after letting a few comedy beats pass for effect, I went and retrieved the Zales box and brought it over to her. I then pronounced, "Someone loves you, and it's me," and handed her the box. The look on her face was priceless. She appreciated the gift very much, especially after I reassured her that I didn't break the bank in purchasing them (they were $59 plus tax - like I said, they were small). I had her try them on, and she looked lovely in them. Mission accomplished, on both fronts.

I remember one time when we were visiting a friend, a sudden ruckus came from down their hall. Which I was in position to look down. So they asked "What's that noise?"
I replied "Your cat is fighting with a box. The more intelligent one is winning."
Immediate response: "Oh, poor Misty, is that box beating up on you?"

As we pulled into an RV park this afternoon, I saw four adult women and three children (the oldest about 6, I think) trying to catch a dog. Who was wearing a harness and leash. The dog, on the other hand, was playing chase with them and having a heck of a lot of fun.
The dog came running up to me, so I tried to grab the leash. Touched it, but couldn't get a grip before the dog was off teasing someone else.
So I went over and laid on the grass.
After a bit the dog noticed me there and came running over. A little too fast, couldn't stop in time, stomped on my hand as it went by. But then it came back and started licking my face.
So I grabbed the leash and stood up. And then picked my glasses up off the ground, as the dog had knocked them off me. And handed the leash off to one of the ladies.
They were impressed by the trick. One I've used a few times before, and never had it not-work with a dog that was friendly with strangers and enjoying itself.

Darth, I would add two things to Kiwiwriter47's rant.
1) Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. - George Santayana
2) Those who try to make us forget the past intend to repeat it. - me

The Librarian of Congress funded publication of a Braille edition of Playboy from 1970 through 1985 when Congress tried a back-door ban on it (because all those lurid photos that weren't in the Braille edition obviously were encouraging the blind people who didn't receive them and couldn't see them anyway to become promiscuous), and then from mid-1986 (including picking up the missed issues) to at least 2018 after the courts lambasted Congress for violating the 1st Amendment in a way that targeted handicapped people.
The Librarian of Congress currently funds the publication in Braille of over 100 magazine titles; Playboy (no longer among them, as it is now online-only) was at one time the 6th most popular.
I am not finding any references to a Braille edition of Hustler.

I still think that if Trump is guilty - which he probably is - an argument of selective prosecution could be very helpful for him. After all, he was impeached on allegations of doing things that Vice President Biden publicly boasted of having done, and is now being prosecuted for offenses that were not a problem worth prosecuting when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton committed them on a much larger scale (in spite of the fact that there were and are people in prison on convictions of having done the same thing on a minuscule scale as compared to either Trump or Clinton).

I still fucking love that when Putin declared that Ukraine was not a country, the Ukrainians responded by withdrawing Volodymyr the Great's charter for the founding of Moscow, revoking its right to exist as a city.
