My daughter once played online in a game called "Atlanta after dark". An interesting coincidence is that NONE of the participants in the particular group she was in had ever even been to Atlanta, let alone lived there, so the cumulative real-world knowledge of the city was approximately zero. But the software they were using (which I don't know) was advertising-financed, and it would monitor what was going on in a communication session and try to put up related ads, so they got lots of ads for businesses in Atlanta - which information they very happily used in the game.

My son-in-law has a tale from his teenage years. The home of a friend of his had a basement that was a big open space with a wall in the middle - not connected to other walls. In other words you could treat the basement as an oval track. The cats did. In one corner was a window, and a bed under the window. The cats would, after running a few laps, would jump up and touch-and-jump off the bed to go outside for a bit.
In the middle of the night.
My son-in-law stayed there one night, and slept in that bed.
So he was suddenly awakened by a cat bouncing off his stomach heading for the window. And then another. By the time the third one came, he was sitting up, so the third and fourth cats crashed into his side.
The bed being directly under the window got a cold draft at night, so the lead cats suddenly discovered the hard way that he had closed the window. And he got cats landing on his head.

Actually, that can still be helpful. Say (making numbers up) that we have capacity to put a million victims in the hospital at one time. If we have two million cases who need hospitalization this week, that doesn't work, and we have people dying who could have been saved. If we have a million cases who need hospitalization this week, and a million cases that need hospitalization two weeks from now, that works, and those people end up OK. Heck, even if spreading it out means we have a THIRD million cases another two weeks after that, we're still ahead.

The Cat knows that you are supposed to be doing SOMETHING at the desk

And despite (or perhaps because of) your requests and suggestions, The Cat just gets in the way

When our cat came home from the vet after being fixed, we were told to keep him in low places where he couldn't fall for a while. So we set him in the bathtub.
He immediately jumped up and sat on the rim.

Tried something fancy for dinner last night. My lady is supposed to be on a low-salt diet, so the only seasoning I used was from a container labelled "Garlic Pepper". The result was (a) way too salty, (b) strangely sweet, and (c) seriously in need of more garlic and more pepper.
I looked at the ingredients list on the "Garlic Pepper". The first two ingredients are salt and sugar.
(The container is now in the trash.)
