I've been asked to be a special guest aboard a game/anime-related cruise/convention! It takes place in February of 2020. The cruise departs from Galveston, TX on a 4 day round-trip cruise to Cozumel, Mexico. It's hosted by Jon St. John, who is best known for his role as the voice behind Duke Nukem in the video game Duke Nukem 3D.
To come out from behind my persona for a bit for those who don't know me - my name is Lee Jackson, and I'm the former Music and Sound Director for Apogee Software and 3D Realms Entertainment. I worked on music and sound for PC games, writing the soundtracks for Rise of the Triad, Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior, and Stargunner.
I'm not sure what kind of presentation (if any) I'll be doing on the cruise yet, but I'll be bringing copies of my Calibrations album, as well as two unique autographed Calibrations T-shirts to give away!
If you've ever been crazy enough to want to meet and greet either Jon St. John or myself, now's your chance! Go to http://jsjnotcon.com/ for more information and to sign up. I'm looking forward to seeing you on board!

I think for me, I can look at Tony, a character who has, for the entire span of EGS thus far, been a bully, harassed Tedd over his androgynous appearance and made comments about not only Tedd's, but Elliot's sexual orientation and possibly even other people's, and to top it off, Tony's been that way since 4th grade at least (this previous page's flashback might be 3rd grade or even earlier ) and Tony has so far hasn't really shown any sign of changing his attitude (which in retrospect, he's essentially the Justin that I grew up getting bullied by).
I look at Diane however, and we've had 1 instance of her saying something homophobic, and that was it, yes she was still an overall jerk, but we never saw her going out of her way to harass Justin, though she apparently repeatedly harassed Nanase but for other reasons, of course at around Christmas Diane set her sights on Elliot which appeared to be bad news but it turned out much different, I think she started to remember what she really wanted, romance. This was certainly tested when she saw Ashley with Elliot, and while she did lash out at Charlotte over it, I think the key thing here is the fact that she immediately realizes that she was out of line and felt awful.
As Grace stated when talking to Elliot about his past comments about Tedd using girl forms, there are people who are bigoted jerks who should know better but aren't going to change, a category in which Tony would certainly fall under, and people who simply don't understand that what they do is harmful but there's hope for them to learn and be better, and I strongly believe that Diane fits here because she's certainly showing that she can learn.

I've had fun with the thought that maybe everyone in Moperville is hiding the fact that they have magic or someone they know has magic...

A poly relationship doesn't have to mean everyone is attracted to everyone else.  The simplest example would be two straight guys and one woman.  The guys have no interest in each other, but they have no problem with both loving the same woman.  (There's a web TV series called "Family" with this premise.)  You can also have the exact same thing, but with the guys also being interested in each other, but it's not mandatory.
Of course, physical closeness doesn't have to equal sexual interaction, either -- I did a massage workshop led by Patch Adams (the real guy, not the Robin Williams version), and we'd have everything from one-on-one to eight or ten people working on one person at once, with no sexual pressure involved for anyone.  "Massage is not a way to get into someone's pants.  If you want to get into someone's pants, tell them, 'I want to get into your pants!'"  Yup, he's quite a character, and we filled a whole room with balloons for him as a thank-you. ;-)

Yes, and it used to be that a black man would be beaten to death if he whistled at a white woman, and a woman couldn't charge her husband with rape because she was considered to have given perpetual consent to whatever he wanted when she married him,  The way it used to be usually changed to the way it is now for a reason.
If nothing else, there were plenty of cases of mistaken identity, frame-ups, fabricated evidence and false witness, all sorts of things that might come out if the accused got a trial.  Too many real bad guys got away with murder and worse because someone else was killed for the crime before they could get a trial.  Even today, people are found to have been innocent who had already been executed, or had lost decades of their lives rotting in prison for crimes they were proven innocent of.  At least if they're alive, the wrongfully convicted have a chance of proving they're innocent.
Look at Magus.  He committed some truly awful acts, working with an Aberration and conspiring to set other Aberrations loose in a public space surrounded by innocents; kidnapping and mental domination, body-snatching....we know he had good reasons, but what if he'd been killed in the process?

We also know that Fox can cast any of Nanase's spells, up to the limit of the power Fox has access to.  Perhaps now the fairy dolls have the same ability?
(And it's great to see you posting again!  ;-)

Wish me luck, folks. Time for another back surgery/procedure Monday morning (7/29). I'm having a lumbar rhizotomy done on the lower left side of my back - in other words, they're going in and doing a radio ablation on my nerve endings again. The last one wore off after about 6 months. I go into the hospital at 9:10 a.m. CDT. I've got about a half-hour to drink as many fluids as I can before I have to shut down all oral intake.

Still no comments on Tedd using Elliot's thigh as a pillow?
It's a rather intimate position for two "best bud" friends.

It's not so much Tedd's toys, as his almost obsessive interest in transformation; frankly he is probably the only person we know of in the comic with as strong an interest in it as Ashley. Of course that's not enough to build a romantic relationship on; even leaving Elliot out of the picture I think the extent of the relationship she would form with Tedd and/or Grace is friends possibly with benefits (though it's hard to say until they actually interact in canon).
But yes, even if Ashley were interested in Tedd and/or Grace, she's too nice to break up with Elliot unless it's really obvious it isn't working between them (and so far it is working).
    And so few newbies.
It's really a shame that this forum style is dying out; for people who are not family and/or close friends I've yet to find a method of communication that suits me better than this style of forum. I like to be able to choose my words carefully and be able to go back and change them if I realize I messed up, I like to be able to read everything on a subject in the order it was said,  and I like to be able to easily go back and look at things that were said days, weeks, or even years ago. Also, being able to not use my real name is essential, as without that mask my social anxiety would be crippling.

Kinda nervous about this one. I've just submitted my latest single for Grammy consideration:
It's in the Record of the Year and Best Instrumental Composition categories. Probably has a snowball's chance in hell of getting nominated, but it was worth the try.

What's better than getting a new house is finally moving all your things into the new house. As of two days ago, the last storage unit has officially been emptied.

New roof, new heater, new a/c, new owner.
What does that add up to? $25.00 more per month starting in July.
On the good news front, however, I renewed my lease. I don't know why I worry about that as much as I do, but It's good to know that I have a roof over my head until July 2020 at a price I can afford.

It's not just a question of physical strength, either. If one is blackmailed or otherwise coerced through non-physical means into having sex, it still counts as rape. (And of course there's situations where the person is in no state to make a decision about consent one way or another, but that's been touched on already in this conversation in relation to alcohol and mind-control.)
