NP Comic Thursday December 30, 2021 Last NP of 2021. No characters caught COVID-19. I want to see Dan draw a bull carp. Maybe a bull space carp. Ellen is not wrong, although missing the point that general expectations are not an unreasonable thing, otherwise you don't really have a 'society'; she might be more correct saying sometimes societal expectations can be unreasonable. She is experienced in the sense of having Elliot's memories, but that seems to be a step removed; similarly her dream world. Of all the main characters, we have never seen her as a male.

I must admit I needed to search for that. And it seems the party is very much for Ashley ... well, ok, the movie IS relevant to the magic which is topic of party, but I'm pretty sure everyone already saw that movie. Multiple times. Probably even Susan. And on Elliot's place, I would be at least little uncomfortable with my bisexual girlfriend bonding over romance with someone else like that. Especially considering she CAN have squirrel romance with Grace. Also, I would hope that Ashley's wizard training will be different, but truth is transformations are likely to be important part of it if Tedd is supposed to help at all ... well, at least not the upsetting ecosystems bit.

Now the commentary: I don't think I have ADHD ... however reading all that ADHD Alien comics made me feel like I know what they speak about. Like, I don't have it that serious or that often, but lot of it sometimes happen to me. Now ... does it mean I do actually have some very weak case of ADHD? Is it also sideefect of something else I actually have? Or do neurotypical people also feel that way and just need it to be pointed out to realize it? Wait. ADHD is medicated with stimulants. Maybe I get ADHD-like symptoms when tired? I do often complain that the more tired I am the harder it gets to stop what I'm doing and go to sleep ...

As for how Diane anticipated Tedd's explanation so quickly? I think there is more than simply trousers of intelligence at work here Diane knows more about magic and "Spooky Stuff" than you would expect from someone who's first confirmed exposure to the phenomena was just a few weeks ago at the New Year's party Has Diane been reading Charlotte's blog? Likely Has she encountered some other source of esoteric information? That would be an interesting plot twist...

http://egscomics.com/comic/party-089 Another important difference from Harry Potter is that the "correct" spelling is how TEDD thinks it's spelled, which is even more likely to be wrong than how it's written. ... I mean, sure, especially "Wingardium Leviosa" might not even be bad latin but no latin at all, but in-universe, there is supposed to be correct spelling. In EGS, if Tedd puts incorrect spelling into the wand, even if he does so deliberately, it will work how he says, not how it's correctly. Also, yes, Harry Potter can't exactly be labeled "nerdy" ... there is potential, but it's too famous. On the other hand, Nanase is also right: Diane would likely be tempted to see Harry Potter even if less famous, although she might be able to resist the temptation. ... did you notice Tedd said that worst SHOULD be the spell doesn't happen? Also, I see I was mistaken when I though Ashley don't get to enjoying magic after Diane gets there. Granted, she only get the opportunity because she volunteer as guinea pig, but still. ... now, what color does Ashley have now? White? Blond? Cyan? Radium Green? Wait. I just realized Ellen has unenchanted (green) hair now. Since start of part 2 actually. Well, I think that everybody's mind can run different, but I think that while sketching multiple pages in same day without pauses certainly wouldn't work for Dan, he overdid it with doing the panels out of sequence. The chance for mistake rises a lot when he inks panel with previous panel not sketched yet ...

http://egscomics.com/comic/party-086 Sooo, Tedd guessed she won't be able to get Diane to test the wand without instructions by just telling her to do it, so she did major distraction instead, hoping Diane would be so impatient she tries something? Because seriously this was predictable. Also, Tedd, I though you can make permanent transformations now? But you may be right with temporary enchantments. In fact, wearing glasses ALSO makes your sight worsen. At least incorrect one as child. .... ok, reading internet it seems mostly as misconception. On the other hand, it just supports that Tedd would THINK temporary enchantments will worsen her sight. BTW, on reddit I found person claiming their eyes got from 20/20 to needing glasses in just two months.

And, Grace too late noticed that Tedd is not completely OK with Diane coming ... and looking at reddit comments, the reasoning make sense. I'm not sure Tedd is ok to explain herself to SUSAN, much less Diane. On the other hand, as mentioned in commentary, both choices were not exactly good. The party was already not ideal for private stuff and it will be worse ... but it's not good time for telling Susan no.
