Comic for Friday, Sep 29, 2023 (From the commentary): Two nickels does not buy much any more. Back in the day, it was a local phone call or some time in the parking meter. My dad said that long ago, he used to get into movies for a nickel. Maybe we've never seen Elliot's true nature. What if Elliot's default form is from another comic? Would Dan need to get permission to draw it? What if he's Calvin? What if he's Hobbes? What if he's Cathy! Oh, Noes! He could be Peppermint Patty, athletic and clueless . . . Ashley would be Snoopy, I think; lives in her own fantasy world.

Sketchbook Comic for Monday, Sep 25, 2023 Elliot is in female mode, Tedd appears to be ambiguously mixed. Odd.

https://www.egscomics.com/comic/layers-048 I haven't commented on any of the recent comics, so I'll mention now that I think Elliot and Tedd look cute like that. Moving on to the issue of sleep: Personally, six hours is enough to get me through most of the day, but I'll be dragging by the end of the day if I don't get a nap in. If I haven't missed any sleep recently, 7 hours can usually get me through the day, but I can only manage it for a few days in a row. Eight hours is sustainable, but if I don't make any attempt to control how much sleep I get, and don't have any reason to get up before I'm fully rested, I tend to default to 9 hours. Unfortunately, much like Tedd and Dan, I have a tendency to get caught up in things and go to bed really late. I'm in a position where I can usually get all the sleep I need afterward, but it means I miss most or all of the morning (at least those part around and after dawn). This is really annoying, as I like mornings. (To make the situation downright frustrating, my ability to delay gratification decreases as I get tired, meaning deciding to get to bed on time doesn't actually help much.)

Comic for Monday, Sep 11, 2023 Kevin is giving Tedd a lesson from Dan's real life, I guess?

Sketchbook Comic for Monday, Sep 11, 2023 The faces don't normally seem dissimilar, but there must be subtle cues, because there all look like Elliot transformed.

Comic for Thursday, Sep 7, 2023 Thus Sprach Kevin (queue music). I see him as more like the monolith than like Zoroaster, though. Except the monolith kept it's mouth shut. So to speak.

https://www.egscomics.com/comic/layers-040 Regarding the last part of the commentary, Ashley's situation actually reminds me of the average Doctor Who companion (at least during the classic series; I'm not very familiar with the modern series).

NP Comic for Saturday, Aug 5, 2023 George reacts to the last panel in the previous comic. He does seem a bit lethargic at times. His superpower appears to be looking startled, but again, in slow motion. Ellen comments and reflects on an earlier conversation she overheard. Did Ellen inherit Elliot's ability to turn into a cat person? The time frame seems right.

https://www.egscomics.com/comic/layers-015 So much Baseball in Moperville. Yes, Baseball is the only thing anyone ever thinks about in this town. . . . . . It is actually nice to see that in the recent Time Skip, Elliot has realized Ellen is not a fragile figurine that must be protected at all times. No, she is a real human with whom he can joke and tease her as mercilessly as she teased him.

Comic for Wednesday, Jun 7, 2023 They are not snails, they are featureless bowling pin people. I like Elliot's speech, but I think it is portrayed as overly well received by the crowd of randos - unless their US is nothing like the US I live in. I hope Tedd is encouraged to be himself. I suspect Lavender will be an ally to future Tedd.

Comic for Monday, May 29, 2023 It's a very exciting comic! Tedd explains again how hair grows while it is transformed. In the last panel, we again see indoor fog. Humidity apparently works different in EGS than in our universe. I am curious what kind of custom equipment requires sewing. This would make sense if there were an optical component involved. I wonder if he's thinking, "Clothes for after being transformed."

Comic for Friday, May 26, 2023 Tedd needs a haircut, and is struck with debilitating indecision. Yep, that is totally in character for Tedd, can't make up his mind about a style issue. This comic is making perfect sense. Elliot refers to a previous haircut of Tedd's as 'cute', providing fuel for the ships. It is a helpful comment that doesn't help at all. Tedd rants a bit in further indecision. Susan explains it all and Tedd blames her explanation for his previous overall response. Yep, making perfect sense. Dan explains below that we will argue about why Tedd doesn't magic up his hair, and assures us he will beat that to death in the next comic. This has to be a political parody' only way it makes sense.

Sketchbook Comic for Friday, February 17, 2023
Darth Fluffy posted a topic in EGS Sketchbook Discussion
Sketchbook Comic for Friday, February 17, 2023 Elliot is transforming into a more or less duplicate of Ashley, but the transition appears to still be in process. His hair is defying gravity. (Gravity does not appreciate the sentiment.) Also, details are off, which could be because he is still transforming. His face shape is face shape is rounder, his boobs are bigger, and his hips are wider; overall he looks a bit bigger. The thing at his knee level looks like a skirt or pants dropping, which seems odd; in the comics so far, they typically resize, and his hips look like they'd still hold up a skirt or pants. Part of the transition? Ashley likes how she looks. -
Comic for Wednesday, Jan 11, 2023 Diane has interesting eyes. In the first panel, the iris an pupil have reappeared, but the eyeball has grown larger, requiring a larger socket. Unless they've flattened front to back, they are shoving deep into her head. In the last panel, they have returned to a normal size, but the sclera is now black, and the iris and pupil are white. She must be functionally blind at that point. Diane says her brain is processing all the information, but I think it is healing the damage from the first panel. So, she's a shapeshifter, but still on the learning curve. Arguably, none of that happened, it's just a way of expressing her surprise. Mmm, I suppose it's effective. She always seemed to be more in control of herself until recently. I think there are slightly more than two panels. The middle cloud thing, "Ellen is a cursed duplicate of Elliot created by the Dewitchery Diamond", is intended to be read after you take in Diane's reaction in the panel; I even had to scroll down a bit to see it all. There is a mental pause between the main panel and the text cloud, so it's being used as a second panel, of sorts. Dan might call it a three panel comic today. Noah, your furniture is on fire. Is whatever is happening in the background of the first panel what set the fires? Neither Noah nor Diane seem particularly concerned about this. I would be quite concerned, but I live in a different universe.

NP Comic for Thursday, November 3, 2022 George assumes Ellen is Elliot, wacky high jinks don't actually ensue. Also Elliot only appears in George's imagination. He really needs to walk into the store. Actually, George thinks Ellen is transgender; he doesn't know about magic transformations in general (probably assumes Cheerleadra is a special case as a superhero). Elliot appearing in the store, even later, should convince him he's wrong. Maribel, the chicken has quarters. That is weird. Maybe they have corn vending machines? She likes old school video games? Something like Frogger, but with a chicken? (thus providing yet another answer to the perennial question).

Comic for Wednesday, September 28, 2022 As Mlooney said, the story advances rapidly through the miracle of exposition. Elliot as an agent might be a bad thing, although training could help. Grace seems to be a natural.

Comic for Monday, September 26, 2022 Shadowy figure montage looks like a good way to get a lot of comic done. It appears to be a version of Elliot. Tedd is rather urgent about that brownie. No need, Tedd, brownies are always well received. ... Now I want a brownie.

Comic for Wednesday, September 7, 2022 Welp, this is an odd turn ... so many questions how this works on an physically biological level. It works OK on Star Trek, where everyone is rubber mask aliens. Uyruoms breed differently, unless Lavender installed the necessary plumbing through shapeshifting. Or do they keep a Uryuom egg in the corner of the bedroom? On a scale from one to ten, we will now be using the complex plane of hotness. "My girlfriend is a 9+3i" (9+3j for you EEs).

Comic for Friday, September 16, 2022 I like how Edward's eye wear tracks his facial expression. We need that in our universe. Also how Elliot's hair blows in the basement breeze. They must have one helluva air circulation system.

Comic for Wednesday, August 31, 2021 "Words, they be punchy things, with which not good I am, so teamwork, I can be annoying. For a bit. Ouch." "A man's got to know his limitations." - Harry Callahan "I need training. As a superhero (not a huge one). From a superhero sensei." Greg is training Grace. He might still be your best bet.
