Gender Male (Unless under Macha's influence, see below)
Age Looks about 24, actually somewhere in forties.
Race Human
Appearance 6 foot tall man in fairly decent shape, of indeterminate heritage. Curly black hair, brown eyes, pale skin. Most of his visible skin is covered in strange, serpentine-style tattoos that have no discernible pattern or image.
Available Knowledge Jono has the knowledge of a college graduate in the fields of philosophy and cultural studies. He's practiced in Lucid Dreaming and knows a good deal about various mythologies and occult works. While not a trained martial artist, Jono has been in more than his fair share of fights, and has knowledge of a few military hand-to hand forms of defense.
Supernatural Abilities
The Taint of Dissolution Jono has been tainted by the unnatural power of the mad gods, cthonic entities the sort that H.P. Lovecraft wrote about and various individuals know of (though such individuals don't likely wish to know of them). While doing so may one day drive him mad or force reality to reject him entirely, Jono can channel his taint into various effects. Doing so too much may also kill him, as the taint is inexorably tied into his very essence and may undo him if depleted. While Jono uses his Dissolution, the tattoos covering his skin writhe around like a nest of snakes.
• Infection - Jono can funnel the dissolution into his wounds and use it to heal himself, or temporarily infect another person or object he comes into contact with it, given sufficient effort.
• Unveil - Jono can reveal the taint lurking within him, thereby terrifying those around him and moving his mind out of sync with reality for brief periods, which helps him resist undo mental influence or supernatural compulsions. It also tends to bring the worst fears of the viewers to life, however briefly.
• Devolution - At great cost to himself, Jono can cause the dissolution within himself to well up and infuse his corporeal body with great power. While he still looks nominally human in this form, there are some key differences. His eyes well up to become pitch black, and his fingers extend into six-inch claws, harder than steel. So too do his bones, and even his skin seems reinforced somehow, making him stronger, faster, and tougher. Nature, however, rebels at the presence of Jono while he is Devolved - animals will flee his presence or attack if cornered, and if he remains Devolved for too long, he risks obliterating himself as the energies within him, inimical to reality, overpower him entirely.
• Negaphysics - Jono can warp or violate the natural laws of reality for very brief periods, allowing him to manifest a variety of effects. These usually involve such things as reversing gravity (causing himself and/or others to fall up, or even in other directions), stopping the momentum of moving objects (stopping bullets in mid-flight, etc.), or temporarily magnifying his strength to such an effect that he can lift and throw objects that weight well over a ton. With his Negaphysics, Jono can also walk on, run up, or stand on walls or ceilings or slow his own descent if falling (no matter the direction), though he cannot fly outright. His ability to temporarily warp reality also allows him some small control over electronic mediums, performing such tricks as flickering the power in a room on and off, shorting out computers or other electronic mediums, magnetizing himself such that magnetic metals are either repelled or attracted to him, or even create a sort of static-electricity shield for a brief period.
• Warpbolts - One of the more direct manifestations of his taint, Jono can unleash ribbons of darkness so inimical to reality that they can burn the air, not to mention disrupt the biological processes of another person or corrode unliving matter. However, using this ability risks drawing Jono ever closer to madness.
Macha, Patron Goddess of Battle and horses
Jono has entered into a pact with Macha, one of the tri-fold celtic goddesses of battle (her sisters being Badb and Morrigan), enlisting her aid to help him combat the dissolution slowly gnawing away at his soul. However, Macha demands a high price from Jono, given her disposition of punishing men for doing wrong and her own convinced superiority over others.
As long as he stays in Macha's good graces, Jono has the following abilities:
• Immortality - Macha isn't willing to let Jono die easily and let his soul be lost to the Mad Gods, so she's taken a few measures to prevent the occurrence from coming to pass. Jono can't die from old age - as a matter of fact he doesn't physically age at all. In addition, he heals his wounds far quicker than a normal human being, and is a fair bit tougher than his physique would otherwise suggest. He is not, however, immune to injury, he can still get sick, and lethal blows are still lethal blows, but Macha's blessings give him a bit more robustness than he would otherwise have.
• Vigor - In times of great duress, Jono can call upon Macha to infuse him with a portion of her essence, making him far stronger, faster, and tougher than even his Devolution could otherwise provide, though for no longer than a minute at a time. Jono is, however, loathe to call upon this ability, for reasons that will soon be elaborated upon.
The abilities that Macha grants Jono are not without price. In a way, Jono is Macha's prisoner, and she has taken it upon herself to punish him for daring to, even briefly, associate with the Mad Ones. As such, Macha can let her influence be known in a number of ways.
Firstly, Macha can observe the world using Jono's senses. If she chooses, she can take control of his body and use him to work her own will on the world. While she is doing so, she can only access Jono's abilities, but the shift in personality and mood are apparent. There's other transparencies of the sort, as well.
Whenever Jono calls upon Macha's vigor, whenever Macha takes control of Jono's body, or whenever Macha feels like otherwise voicing her displeasure, Jono becomes a woman. Namely, he looks a lot like he would if he were born, raised, and grew up a she. While Beholden to Macha, Jono is about 5'6" and weighs roughly 120 lbs. The hair on her head grows prodigiously, reaching the small of her back in a matter of moments (though it doesn't grow any more than that). Visibly, the tattoos that otherwise cover Jono's body recede, generally disappearing from sight. (In truth, they coalesce on her back, taking the form a great and wild mare to mark her as Macha's servant.) This transformation doesn't do much to stifle Jono's abilities, but he finds it rather annoying, especially given the fact that while the triggers can last for all of a minute, the transformation could last for days or even weeks at a time. The only benefit, Jono says, is that his clothes change to fit him properly. If Jono uses any of his Taint abilities while Beholden, he can expect the transformation to last for a far longer time, though so far he hasn't tested Macha's ire in such a fashion.
Equipment Jono doesn't carry any weapons, but he does wear a bulletproof vest and a heavy black leather trenchcoat. The reason the coat is so heavy is because Jono's sewn metal plates into the lining, making an effective (if noisy) form of armor. Jono also carries a cell-phone, a pair of glasses (which he doesn't often wear), and an i-Pod around with him. He dresses pretty plainly, generally in a simple pair of pants and a t-shirt.
Personality Jono has a highly cynical and sarcastic sense of humor, which he uses as a defense mechanism against the things he's seen and the various influences on his spirit. He's generally good natured, though most people find him creepy and aren't sure why, usually chalking it up to the tattoos. (In truth, Jono's aura is quite caustic and inimical to the very nature of reality. While this isn't normally enough to harm your average person, those sensitive to such things might feel a bit nauseas around him.

Age: 18
Focus: Ranged>Melee
Human
Story
Nate is Nate. He's a projection of me into a world where anything can happen. His story is what you see here, on the Wotch forums.
Appearance
Nate stands at a proud six feet and two (arguably three) inches. He has a head of mangy brown hair kept behind his face with a nondescript black bandanna rolled into headband. Upon the face from which the mangy hair is kept, a conspicuous auburn red mustache and goatee are more than prominent.
Nate is well built... or rather, built enough. Well. As built as you can be when any and all spare time is spent playing video games or "watching movies" in his girlfriend's basement.
During one of his bouts at the last tournament, Nate used his transmutation abilities to turn his left arm into living metal. It completely resembles a flesh-bound arm, elbows and knuckles and such where they should be; they can even flex just as well as the ones on his right arm. The key difference is that his left arm is, well, completely metallic.
Abilities
Nate is a transmuter. His talent lies in his ability to take one thing and magically alter it to the point where it becomes another. Doing such things consume energy, but Nate prefers to draw from energy sources around him. For instance, imagine that Nate accidentally locked himself out of his house. Again. In order to rectify the situation, Nate plucks a piece of bark from a nearby tree. He then absorbs a small amount of energy from that same tree and causes the piece of bark to slowly transform into a shape identical to that of Nate's missing key. Problem solved.
In a situation involving combat, Nate's specialty is to transmute projectiles into explosives whilst they're in midair. Nate also has extensive training with swords and can morph his metallic left arm into a terribly sharp blade.
Rassax Harken-Tyella
Age: 19
Focus: Melee>Ranged
Human
Story
Rassax is the second youngest of the sixteen princes of Sidus. With the throne in constant contest between his older brothers Jugis, Calvus, and Deshan, Rassax has no chance and no want of becoming king. Instead, Rassax throws his diplomatic weight around to get exactly what he desires without any of the responsibility of running a nation.
Rassax was the only child birthed from the union of King Jador IV and one of his many wives, Adonna of House Thyella.
Appearance
Rassax is a handsome young man. He wears a lordly blue tunic (decorated with the Sidus Eagle emblem) over his mithril chainmail. Flowing behind him is an elegant red cape of finest velvet and strapped to his side is the golden scabbard that holds the mystic rapier, Astrapes.
Abilities
Rassax was trained in swordsmanship by the best teachers that the Kingdom of Sidus could offer. Because Rassax was so intent on learning these particular studies, he has become the most formidable of his sixteen brothers with a rapier.
The young prince was gifted with the heirloom of House Thyella upon his birth; the rapier Astrapes. Filled with potent magical energies that have only grown stronger with the passage of time, Astrapes nary misses its mark and is capable of powerful magic that only the true heir to House Thyella can harness. Rassax alone has the ability to generate bolts of electrical energy from this blade and, more importantly alter the weather as he pleases. In the midst of a thunderstorm, Astrapes is its most powerful and the wielder is capable of super human agility and dexterity.

Name: Jay P. DeeJay
Age: 17
Race: Half-Human, Half-Loid
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Right eye is red, left eye is light green
Weight: 156 Pounds
Height: 5 Feet, 10 inches
Rank: Head of genetic research, Captain of block J division.
Jay DeeJay (Often Referred to as just Capt J.) is one of many valuable officers in a secret organization somewhat like an intergalatic police. He is by no means too important, but isn't too expendable either. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, America. He had a human mother (Sarah Elizibeth Glynn Krelbourne DeeJay) and an alien father (Weik Brand't DeeJay) a member of the race of Loids.
Race: The Loid race is the most technologically advanced aliens in the West Galaxy. They are humanoid, and very similar to humans, except they lack a mouth or ears. The Loids are the most intelligent beings discovered yet. In addition, they are incredibly powerful psychics, as they have evolved beyond the need for much physical activity. They speak through telepathy, telekinetically lift themselves for movement, and hear by using their Psi as a magnet to telepathically gather sound waves directly into their heads. Because they are powerful Psi users, they have a unique biology that Psi energy is connected like puppet strings to the rest of their body. The effect? Over time, the can turn most parts of their body into Psychic Lightning.
Powers: Though half human, Capt. J has genetically received many of his heritage's abilities. Though still struggling with Psi, he has somehow honed his lighting abilities to the point where he can disperse lighting through his legs and arms. Capt. J is also renouned as one of the most intelligent members of the western galaxy. He has an above average muscle build (using human standards), but is still rather slim. His main method of attacking is releasing a flury of electrified punches and shooting at the opponent from afar, so they can't get a chance for a break.
Personality: He keeps to himself most of the time. His work is his life. So overly logical, it is impossible for him to enjoy himself. He is only able to open up when he is at work. When he is at his best, he can be cocky, adventurious, and thrill-seeking.
Equipment: Being the genius that he is, Jay has made a few different weapons. Including a watch that opens a small pocket dimension for his items, a weak plasma gun (meant only to weaken or slow down opponents, it can't break the skin), and soda-based grenades.

Species: Human, half-cyborg
Gender: Male
Age: 38
Height: 8'2"
Personality:
Stern but calm, he is the epitome of Lahrahn military discipline when things go his way. When they don't, he has been known to dent bulkheads. He moves quickly when he needs to, but only then. He believes strongly in organization and order. While he has a brilliant mind, he often forgets social interaction. He has also nearly forgotten how to have fun. His two best traits are his trustworthiness and his patience.
Physical Description:
He is a human whose left leg, right leg, right arm, and lower-and-right torso have been replaced with empowered cybernetic prosthetics. His oversized mechanical limbs have increased his height by about two feet, but most Lahrahn flagships have high ceilings anyway. His custom uniform is short-sleeved and loose where cybernetics have replaced flesh. His eyes and hair are both gray, making him appear older than he really is.
History:
As a young boy on Lahrahnna, his home world, he was fascinated by war. He played strategic video games, and there were few people who could defeat him. He would get distracted frequently by the thought of having his own ship.
A few years before the Terran United Government allied with the Corvan Republic to invade the Lahrahn Empire (which is actually a republic itself), he enrolled in a military command academy. He graduated about a year before the Lahrahn-Corvan conflict began.
Promoted quickly from Ensign to Liutenant to Sub-Commander to Commander, he was given his own ship, the San Lahr, a frigate named after a city on his homeworld. After his involvement in several battles, during one of which his ship fought off a much larger ship, the light cruiser Yakutsk, he was promoted once more to Captain and found himself in the command chair of the destroyer Lauren. After several more battles, he was promoted to Admiral and given a heavy cruiser, two destroyers, a light carrier, and several frigates. A few one-sided victories later, he became a Fleet Admiral and then the High Admiral of the Lahrahn Defense Space Navy. It was at this point that he was given command of the Guardian Golem.
The Guardian Golem is a massive starbase in orbit over the skies of Lahrahnna. Huge masses of starfighters and shielded torpedoes are housed within this massive starbase, which is just smaller than New Tokyo, a city with a population of over one billion. Also under his command are the twin dreadnaughts Lahrahnna and Serenety, the fleet carrier Fury, and countless smaller vessels including his personal frigate, the Blue Crescant, named after the Lahrahn flag.
During the last major battle of the Lahrahn-Corvan War, the Battle of Polara (The frozen second planet of the same star as Lahrahnna), he was aboard the dreadnaught Cratera. Shortly after the destruction of the Corvan "Superdreadnaught" Leviathan, the shields fell on the Cratera. The battle was faring well until an explosion occured aboard the bridge of the Cratera. Reports conflict on what caused the explosion. Some say it was shrapnel from the Leviathan's destruction, others say sabotage. The official story however, is that a rail-blast impacted the bridge leaving only one survivor in the room, Admiral Steel. A forcefield was emplaced in the gaping hole in the ship, containing the atmosphere. Fortunately, with the destruction of the Corvan flagship and 39% of the rest of their ships, and severe damage to another 54%, the Corvan fleet retreated en masse, leaving behind many crippled ships which were swiftly captured by Lahrahn boarding shuttles.
Admiral Steel was not in good shape however. He was unconscious and had sustained grave injuries. He was bleeding all over. His left lung had been punctured by a metal shard. Two of his ribs had been broken when he was hurdled against a wall by the force of the explosion. His right leg was severed by shrapnel from a control console, and his left leg and right arm had been pulped by collapsed bulkheads. After the med teams stabilized him, he remained in a coma for more than a year.
When he awoke, he was missing an arm and both legs and had artificial eyes and eardrums. His first question astonished the nurse who was in the room, who had been sure his first question would be asking what happened to him. He asked, "Have we won yet?"
After a few days, he commissioned an oversized set of cybernetic legs and an equally oversized mechanical arm. Still the High Admiral of the Lahrahn Empire, he has since resumed his duties and won victory against numerous alien invaders as well as other mostly human factions.
Unique Abilities:
His cybornetic legs and right arm give him immense strength. His cybornetic legs do not tire aside from running low on energy. A mechinized (think chainsaw) swordblade, a collapsible grappling hook launcher, and a low-power pulse blaster are concealed in his right wrist. His eyes see with digital clarity, he detects the lightest of sounds, and he strongly resists being blinded and deafened. His lower left leg houses a military-strength personal energy/kinetic shield. Finally, he has a sixth sense which sometimes gives him hunches as to what is about to happen.
His personal symbol is the flag of the Lahrahn Empire trailing behind a starfighter.
CEMU is now Cemu.

Species: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Height: 5'11"
Handedness: Ambidextrous (Slight preference to right)
Description: A dark-haired, brown eyed white male. His hair is usually cut very short.
Abilities: Justin has a power over matter. There are several aspects of this power that he does not know of yet, including the re-arranging of atoms and sub-atomic particles etc. However, at the moment he knows how to: Change the density of things that he touches or has a solid connection to and ensure that they expand in a particular direction, and to channel material between places he has a solid connection to.
In Justin's original universe, there are three different kinds of powered people: Caster (magic user), Ability (born with it) and Dimensionalist. Abilities like Justin have no magical potential of any kind. They are completely unable to use magic, but they are born with a specific power.
Brief history: On Justin's home planet, the only one in that particular universe with intelligent life, there is an organisation known as the UCC. They are a group of Casters who currently rule that world and are strictly against Abilities. Justin was captured by them and thrown out of the universe through a gap the casters had made. No-one knows how much time he spent in there, or at least how long it was for him, but he didn't age there and it lasted one year for his planet. He fell into this universe by freak chance. That was 6 months ago.
Weapons: Justin carries a staff similar to a wooden one in every way except that it is not made of wood. It is in fact made of rock that Justin has made low density.
Items: Justin has a sentient piece of paper that can write on itself and sense things a bit more than as if it had eyes or ears etc. Its only method of communication, however, is the writing on itself. It can't really do anything else.

Name: Tony
Age: 27
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 170 lbs.
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Abilities: Besides a great amount of knowledge in fighting and surviving the Hub, Tony can heal himself a little, is REALLY good at killing undead things, and that lucky aura most paladins seem to have.
Equipment: Marilith, the longsword: While he once wielded the Defender's Sword, entertainment dictated he be equipped with an ex-character of TonyKnight transformed into a sword in Hub History. This blade can change appearance, and limited shape-changing(no super-big or super-long TFs). It also allows greater attack accuracy, and a couple bursts of speed per battle. Most of the time it berates the poor guy.
Paladin's armor: Unlike the older version, Tony's current armor is not near invulnerable. Greater speed has been traded in for a little less protection. It still has a several enchantments that make it more durable than your normal suit of armor.
Gauntlet: Giving up his shield has been another part of the transformation. This over-sized gauntlet allows Tony to absorb all forces he catches in it's grip and use those energies either for his own limited gain, or preferably to be thrown back into the face of his attacker.
Appearance: Tony looks much like himself IRL, or in other words James from The Wotch (see avvie) The only difference is the golden armor (no helmet), oversized gauntlet, and sword mentioned above.

Name: Splunkle - occasionally goes by "Lord Splunkle"
Species: Standard Terristrial Human
Gender: Male
Age: 21 standard Terristrial years
Height: 1.96m (6'5")
Weight: 75kg (165 pounds)
Appearance: Tall and skinny, Splunkle holds his slightly-longer-than-shoulder-length brown hair back in a ponytail, revealing a face with a square jaw, an oversized nose and blue eyes. While traveling, he usually wears a simple black or grey cloak. Under this is his trusty vest-of-many-pockets, where he keeps a great many things, including at least one monocle and a fob watch at all times. A simple shirt, some pants and a pair of sturdy boots completes his outfit.
Abilities:
Generic Summon: Splunkle is capable of summoning any generic, non-sentient object at will. For example, he cannot summon The Crown Jewels, because they are not generic. However, he can summon "a huge diamond". Unlike some other forms of summoning, Splunkle's summoning actually moves the object - if he was to summon a loaf of bread, somewhere in the world, a bakery will be missing a loaf a bread. For this reason, he tries to minimise use of this ability when it comes to objects people are likely to own, except in emergencies. It is also worth noting that the heavier and more complex the object is, the more effort Splunkle must put in to summon it. A loaf of bread would take a thought, whereas a 20 ton truck would require hand waving and serious concentration. The mass and complexity limit on this ability, if any, is unknown.
Contract summon: Splunkle can summon - with great ease - any person or object with which he has signed a magical summoning contract. This involves a brief ritual, and requires either ownership of the object, or the object's owner's consent (in the case of sentient beings, they are considered to own themselves). Splunkle has formed contracts with just about everything he owns, and with a few friends of his:
Clod, the shapeshifter - Usually appearing in the form of a disembodied hand, Clod can assume a variety of forms, ranging in size from about 10 cm3 up to a fully grown human. Regardless of what form he takes, Clod appears to be always mute, instead using expressive body language, and when needed, the written word to communicate. Clod is not particularly agrressive, instead prefer to play pranks on friends and meet new people. However, Clod is not afraid of battle, and uses his abilities to confuse the enemy.
Smeh, the cudgel-wielder - Smeh is a tall lanky fellow, much like Splunkle in build. He is not what one would call an intellectual though, finding being a bit of a larrikin much more enjoyable than studies. His mischevous frolics often attracted similarly minded people, sometimes to help him and sometimes to oppose him. After one such particularly brusing encounter with a fellow armed with a stick, Smeh set about bettering himself in the fine art of cudgeling - for once in his life, actually doing some research into the matter. Now he finds himself to be one of the best in the galaxy with the cudgel.
Bob, that mage dude (now retired) - Bob is one of the few beings in existance capable of destroying the universe. Thankfully, he rather likes the universe, and thinks that its a fairly alright place to live. Bob's exact origins or history are rather unknown, something Bob would like to keep that way so that he doesn't get kindnapped by malevolent beings that want to destory the universe because they don't like it. While still technically a summon of Splunkle, Bob has moved into retirement, prefering to stay out of the public eye these days. Splunkle, respecting Bob's wishes, will only summon him in the most dire of circumstances.
Martial skills: Splunkle has studied fencing for quite a few years, and thus is somewhat competent at skewering those who disagree with him. He Prefers long pointy swords over thick hacky swords, finding speed and precision more useful than brute force. Splunkle also knows the basics of firearm handling, and thanks to his adventures through the cosmos, knows how to use energy weapons too - though should not be called an expert shot, with either beam or bullet, under any cicumstances.
History: Splunkle grew up as a largely normal boy in Canberra, until his good friend Shane became a Dimensional mage. This quickly taught Splunkle that the first rule of the universe is that there is always an exception to the rule, which he had suspected for a while in any case. Now knowing that the laws of physics weren't quite as stringent as others thought, Splunkle set off for a brief intergalactic tour after high school. Returning triumphantly with summoning skills, he quickly found himself the target of some rather unsavoury characters, presumably due to his newfound skill. He mainly stays on the road as a result, keeping a low profile and reading up on philosophy and whatever else interests him . When asked about his alligence he simply replied: "well, I guess I'm all for awesome. Does that count?"

Name: Cara Glace
Species: Altered Human
Age: 20 something...
Height: 5'6"
Weight: ???
Appearance: Typically Cara appears as a normal human female with shoulder length blonde hair. Her attire is typically casual such as pants and tank tops. Her succubus form is a bit more scantily clad and ranging from bikinis, to very low cut gowns, and even naked with fire wrapped around and covering her body. She can change her form on a whim, but usually only after studying an opponent long enough.
Abilities:
Shape shifting: Cara has access to transmutation and illusion magics that allow her to assume the shape, sounds, smells, and tastes of any humanoid creature that her imagination can concoct. She can not remain in a shape for too long before her body requires her to change back to one of her two normal forms or into a new forms she has thought up.
Pheromones: Cara's body exudes an intense amount of pheromones appropriate to whatever her current form happens to be. This usually instills a feeling of attraction to her that even her beauty can't explain. A weak willed person may find their mind overwhelmed and in her palm.
Drain: While in her succubus form, her touch drains away the life energy of whoever is touched if she wants to. If the person loses consciousness from this, she begins to extract the person's soul.
Magic: Cara has access to the schools of illusion, enchantment, and transmutation when it comes to magic. Nothing she has is directly damaging. Misdirection tends to be her main use of magic.
History: Cara was a typical teenaged girl who had few plans for the future. That all changed when she was approached by a mysterious and charming man while she was traveling home one night. He offered her a job that seemed too good to be true. She would be paid well for just existing. She wasn't told of the part of losing her basic humanity. After signing the contract, Cara's body shifted into the form of a succubus. She had been hired to become a muse, a fickle creature that inspired artists, writers, and singers and weeded out the ones who were not worthy of inspiration.

wth? Am I really a Jo?

Jo, and now Grace? I'm detecting a pattern...
Dr. Jeff: "Cara should scare us all, Roon. It's always the cute ones who are the most dangerous.", "Did I ever tell you how freakin' awesome you are, Cara?"
VkmSpouge: "Jeff would happily welcome you back even if you offered me his soul."

Age: 15
Species: Human
Height: 175cm
Weight: 58kg
Appearance: Alex is just an normal human, with olive skin, messy black hair and brown eyes. He is slightly tall for his age and quite skinny. Of course, this might just be from too much time spent travelling without having much food to eat. Alex normally wears casual clothes, though always of a tougher variety such as jeans, fatigues or durable jackets.
Backstory: Alex was originally from Earth, but has spent the last few years travelling around to other worlds after encountering another being who taught him how to create portals between worlds, as well as the basics of magic. Alex has spent the last few years doing the one thing most fantasy fans would give their left legs for-travelling to different worlds whilst learning how to use magic.
Abilities: Magic, though strangely enough, all of said magic appears to be confined to within the realms of the laws of physics. Alex's most common combat spells often vary depending on the battle, but some of the more regular ones consist of balls of destructive energy, temporary blades that are almost full of empty air but have edges hardened by magic, as well as a common tendency to phase through solid objects.
Quote: "Magic's just energy, right? If you can control it, then throwing a magical punch is about as easy as throwing a real one, just without the physical conditioning."
((Yay! I'm older than my avatar!))
Now that my part in the avatar tournament is over (it sure took longer than I was expecting ;0 ) I'm going to reveal more about Alex. Pat yourself on the back if you figured these out beforehand. To start things off, here's an interesting one: Alex is technically not a mage: He manipulates matter on the small scale, causing and controlling chemical reactions and manipulating substances. Like being telekinetic on the molecular scale. How that translates into the actual effects he uses.....well some of that is overly complex and the rest is unavoidable pseudoscience I suspect. icon_mrgreen.gif A lot of energy for these reactions comes from himself or around himself (battery packs, like the one he was planning to use in the finals...) so nearly all attacks have to come from near himself. You know, unless you have a pile of reactable materials at your feet...
Anyway, revelations on Alex's common combat techniques:
Energy Blasts-Alex can use these, but he doesn't. They're draining but effective, making them best for intimidation. Being slapped around by invisble shoves is freaky.
Fireballs-Take hardly any energy to start, but require more energy to sustain once the surrounding oxygen is gone, unless they're moving in which case they have plenty. Takes a little bit of Carbon, but hey, that's easy enough to get ahold of-but it does mean that what Carbon isn't used in sustaining a fireball in transit is used in a little bang at the target-meaning it's weaker at longer range.
Air blades- Blades of air that require some initial energy for motion, and use themselves up for propulsion. They don't last forever, but last longer than fireballs and are quite manueverable. Look like disturbances in the air and do make some noise generally.
Air needles-Same theory as above but reduced mass, making them less noticeable and more long-lasting. Blades hurt more, obviously.
Phasing: A fun one, though fairly much one of the most draining things Alex frequently does. Is interfered with by straight-up energy in most forms, though kinetic energy not so much. Is definitely the biggest asset in the arsenal of a coward who likes to poke fun at his opponents. You can tell he was taught by a chicken.
Metal-covering: The technicalities of this one have changed a bit over time, but the basics have stayed the same-Alex forms metal coverings with ...well 'science' is easier than 'non-chain-reactive nuclear reactions resulting in the formation of the most stable element', (or alternatively from an already present substitute) that coat his arms or whole body or whatever and form a nifty bit of 'tin-can armour in a can'. The aforementioned bit of technicality is one of the most amusing explanations I've come up with for why Iron is anathema to magic, even if it is probably wrong.
Chemical reactions: This is Alex's Wildcard-an ability than can turn the tide in battle or be completely useless and downright harmful. It wouldn't be a first for him to take some chemicals into battle for a nifty little reaction. Some reactions require energy, others give it off and can be quite useful as either a pick me up or a charge for another reaction that requires a lot. Alex often eats a lot of sugar before going into battle...Could perhaps explain the tendency towards skinniness actually...
Electricity-Powerful, and one attack that he can actually choose whether to be fatal or not. So far he has never used it in a fatal manner. Fairly simple one. Quite draining.
Alex's attacks generally tend towards the power-wasting side, though they do make up for it in quality. A straight-up punch probably would be more efficient than a lot of the stuff he tries to pull. Now if only he weren't a kid who is physically worse off than most of his opponents. Oh well.
Non-canonical abilities: One might notice that what with Alex's ability to manipulate chemical reactions he could theoretically speed up reactions in the human body in which he was VERY familiar with the exact circumstances. Like, for example, the speed of the human brain. This is of course completely ridiculous and highly risky, though boy, if someone had an ability like that, they'd be able to think slightly faster in battle, wouldn't they?
Quote: "Don't go crying to the laws of physics to protect you. I'm not breaking any laws. My goodness, that joke was terrible. Still true though."
Name: FC (frozenchicken)
Species: Chicken? Assumedly?
Appearance: Blue chicken with light blue eyes. Sometimes seen covered in frost. Relatively dextile for someone without an opposable thumb.
Age: Unknown.
Abilities: Mild frost powers, exceedingly intelligent. Battle form which is rarely seen. No information is available on this form. FC doesn't seem to like people talking about it.
Equipment: AC (short for Arbitrary Cannon). Small (chicken-sized) rocket-launcher-esque tube slung around FC's neck. Can fire anything FC feels like, although size limitations generally apply. It's a shame nobody ever makes chicken-sized nuclear weapons.
History: More or less unknown. FC dislikes talking about it.
"You are entitled to your own opinions. You are not entitled to your own facts."
"They've even got a picture of the two of them together, so we know who it is that's secretly the same person."

Age: 20/2
Species: Human/Amoeba vigeapanbiotica
Height: Variable, usually 6 feet.
Weight: 600 lbs, at least.
Appearance: Usually human, brunette, glasses, cargo pants, and a Hawaiian shirt. Totally variable, but Kraj doesn't care and Max likes his old form.
Backstory: Max was a typical nerd before an accident involving a rubber band, a cel phone, the Tokamak fusion generator, and a certain Magic card. He is now bonded on the genetic level with Experiment Kraj, a sentient amoebic entity. They have spent the last year or two refining their powers and meeting strange and fascinating new things.
Powers: Shapeshifting and species emulation. What this means is that Max and/or Kraj can alter their form and include properties of any lifeform provided that lifeform's DNA is on file. Of course, their genetic portfolio is rich with things both on and off Earth. The two also share a telepathic link allowing communication and strategizing at the speed of thought. Their body is modular: Break off a chunk, and they can guide and morph it remotely via the link between cytoplasts, the magical living substance of which their body is composed. Finally, if they can sample their foe's DNA, either through bodily fluids or landing a cytoplast on him, her, or it, he, she, or it is added to their emulation suite.
Note: Double quotes ("") indicate spoken dialogue.
Single quotes ('') indicate Max's thoughts.
Turquoise text indicates Kraj's thoughts. Use RGB code 339999 to replicate the hue.
Remember: You can't spell combustion without two O's.
A Fan of: Magic: the Gathering, "Weird Al" Yankovic, more web comics than I'd care to count (The Wotch among them, of course!) and random non sequitur.

Em-Kay
Appearance: Em-Kay is a fairly average-looking caucasian male human in his mid-20's with brown eyes and brown hair. If anything stands out about him it is is his height (or lack thereof), which barely tops 5'6". Though not bulky, his body exhibits a toned and muscular physique, suggesting a lifetime of training. During combat, Em-Kay generally wears all black: typically a short-sleeved button-up collared shirt and a pair of cargo pants (sometimes he wears a long black jacket also, but this will often come off during heated fights).
Abilities: Em-Kay gained a number of God-given abilities in his time as a demonslaying priest before coming to the forums. They generally come down to an ability to tweak the parameters of time and space, which Em-Kay discovers more and more uses for every day, but I will elaborate on his more famous techniques.
Timespeed shifts: Em-Kay's best-known trick is his ability to speed up his personal time faster than that of his opponent/surroundings. Obviously this means he can move faster, but due to the time-based nature of force, he also has much higher strength than normal in this mode, and feels less impact from things that hit him as well.
Plasma blasts: Another of Em-Kay's favorite tricks is to create a pocket of slower time that absorbs heat from its surroundings and ionizes the air inside it. He can then release this ionized air as a shot or blast of hot electrically-charged plasma. These slow-time areas can also be used as strong conductors, letting him redirect or short out electrical attacks used against him.
Self-summoning: Em-Kay is also known to summon himself from other points in time, so that there are effectively two of him (or more) that can team up on someone in a fight. However, Em-Kay uses this ability very sparingly and for very short bursts, because doing it means he has to "not exist" at whatever point in time he pulled himself from for as long the summons remains active (he often meditates for a while before a mission, since this creates a nice stock of time where he was "doing nothing" that he can pull himself from).
Transfiguration: This is a revealing of Em-Kay's "spiritual self". In this mode, he glows a with an aura of fiery white light. It partially protects him from some of the negative side effects of his timeshifts, letting him boost his speed and strength further than normal. The holy nature of this form is also terrifying to demons and undead creatures that look upon it.
Equipment: Em-Kay has two major weapons that he uses in combat, which are described below.
Sword of the Archangels: This powerful sword was given to Em-Kay when he was a demonslayer, and he still carries it on his left hip. Its blade design is similar to that of Squall's sword from Final Fantasy VIII, though it lacks the gun components and dangling chain. It also glows blue when Em-Kay transfigures. This blessed sword has a particularly nasty bite when used against demons or undead, though it is certainly effective against other enemies as well. Em-Kay is also fond of "summoning" his sword a la the ability above, letting him wield one in each hand when he needs to (he can also completely dismiss the sword in the same way, in case he drops it or an enemy takes it). Em-Kay has also hinted at a "forbidden" ability of his sword which he refers to as the "Timeless Strike". Em-Kay has never resorted to employing this technique since he came to the forums, so its full description remains unknown.
The "Hand of Anibelle": An affectionate name for the cybernetic right arm that Em-Kay's former mistress gave him. Starting at mid-bicep, this mechanical masterwork is well-camouflaged. To the untrained eye, it is indistinguishable from a flesh-and-blood arm; only up close would one notice the mechanical hinges showing when the joints flex. The arm is constucted of highly durable alloys, able to stand up to all but the most powerful of ordnances. Should Em-Kay need to remove it for some reason, the arm has a twist-and-release interface. It is also equipped with a vibrating resonator, which Em-Kay can employ to turn his sword into a vibrating weapon or to grab and shake apart large constructs (or for the occasional massage service

Character Name: Nivek Yarchi
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Profession: Jedi (Padawan officially)
Description: Nivek has brown hair, part of which is in a braid behind his right ear signifying his Padawan rank, and blue eyes. He is of an average build; not particularly strong, but fit. He wears a thick brown robe (as most Jedi do) with an off-white tunic beneath it, a pair of light-colored pants and brown boots. Across his waist is a belt which has two clips for his lightsabers, as well as a few small pouches.
Powers: Nivek has an exceptional mastery over the Force as well as a functioning knowledge of lightsaber combat, of both the single and dual variety.
Common uses of the Force:
Force Sense: Tapping into the Force around him, Nivek can feel where people and, with enough effort, objects are. More concentration is needed to get an exact location. Conversely, with just a smidge of effort, Nivek can get a very general sense of the area around him.
Telekinesis: By taking hold of the Force within an object or possibly even person, Nivek can manipulate it with his mind. Increased concentration is needed for large objects and intricate movements.
Lightsaber throw: An extension of his aforementioned telekinesis, Nivek directs the path of his spinning saber to slice at far away objects. He needs to keep constant pressure on the hilt or else the saber will disengage due to the safety mechanisms within it.
Force Push: Nivek lets loose a wall of raw force, which mainly serves to push its target backwards with some degree of intensity. He can also concentrate a Push into a concussive ball or blast, which is useful for dazing foes and (sometimes) inflicting damage.
Force Boon: By drawing the qualities of the light side of the Force into himself, Nivek can improve himself in various ways, such as increasing his speed.
Telepathy: Nivek reads or implants thoughts in the target's head. While primarily used for communication, he is able to use this power to "trick" his target by manipulating their sensory input or implanting thoughts in their head. These are not the droids you are looking for. Move along. Effort and willpower are the two factors that determine whether or not such a trick will succeed.
After being "trained" by Web, Nivek is now capable of unleashing a few Dark Side powers. They are strongest when he fuels them with anger, hate, and other Dark Side emotions. On the other hand, if he "powers" them with the Light Side, he is weakened considerably.
Force Lightning: Bursts of electricity shoot from Nivek's hands. The lightning causes not only physical pain, but spiritual pain as well.
Force Choke: More of an application of telekinesis than a full power, Nivek has access to Darth Vader's favorite form of punishment. He applies pressure to the victim's windpipe, making it difficult (or impossible) for them to breathe.
Weapons: Nivek wields two lightsabers, one blue and one green, the latter of which belonged to his Master before he died. The blades are made of pure energy, and can cut through almost anything given enough time. Detailed information can be found here. He also has access to a blaster pistol, but does not like to use it after the events of the Tournament.
Background: Nivek was trained in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant like any other Jedi of the Pre-Empire era. Towards the end of the Clone Wars, he went on an investigative mission with his Master to an obscure ice planet. Republic Intelligence had picked up abnormal energy rates coming from deep within one of the many caves, and suspected a Separatist droid factory. Nivek and his Master were thus charged with assisting the raid party. As the group was moving through the tunnels, the Clones were told to execute Order 66. The two Jedi were able to hold their own against the squad, but Nivek's master was gunned down while he distracted with telling Nivek to run. Before taking off into the tunnels, Nivek grabbed his master's lightsaber as a means of remembering his sacrifice. After running through the caves for a while, Nivek came into a large cavern with a giant crystal in the center. Unfortunately, there were no other exits, and the clones quickly had him surrounded. Having no chance to draw his saber, Nivek backed up into the crystal. As soon as he made contact with it, there was a blinding flash, and Nivek found himself in the Warp Pipe Hub. Here he went on numerous adventures, his skills in the Force and saber combat increasing to incredible levels. He also established friendships with the mercenary Lord Steel, many of the members and associates of Natech, the Maroon sisters, and many others.
Nivek recently participated in the Third Avatar Tournament, and made it up to the quarterfinals. He was finally defeated by Azalea. However, he is very uncertain about the morality of the methods he used to reach the match. Specifically, he is disturbed by his use of trickery, potentially lethal force, and the Dark Side. His relationship with Webby, shaky from the beginning, has suffered greatly due to the fact that the webhead encouraged him to use such methods.

He somehow married Athena and was ascended to godhood when he defeated Ares for the right to be god of war. He fought alongside Achilles in the Trojan War and became second in command of the Myrmidons. He gave Achilles special boots for that pesky heel. After the war he went on his duties as god of war. Later he would fight God himself and banish him to his original dimension thus is how God created the human race there. With his, Zacchus's, leadership there was another golden age between man and gods, goddesses, and etc.

Elijah Sight, Supreme Bloogenfraggler of the noble Knights Of Absolute Nonsense
Height - Approx 6"4'
Weight - 170 lbs
Elijah Sight is an extremely silly gentleman with very deep pockets. He always wears rectangular-lensed glasses that are bathed in glare, hiding his eyes from view. He also wears blue jeans, a leather jacket, and steel-toe work boots. A silver watch adorns his left wrist, and a titanium band encircles the ring finger of his right hand. He will also don a lab coat from time to time. He is of slim build, and is stronger and faster than he looks. Despite that, he is easily outclassed by athletes and warriors, being neither himself. Elijah has a deep-seated hatred of killing, and will never take a life unless failing to do so would result in the deaths of innocents.
Elijah has (by unexplained methods) come to the forefront of an enormous inter-dimensional organization known as the KOAN, or Knights Of Absolute Nonsense. His position as their leader enables him to call in the services of all manner of silly individuals, ranging from large green monsters to rubber-chicken wielding chipmunks, to giant talking cucumbers. He is also the Head Doctor at the Tandy Clinic, giving him access to all manner of absurd medical implements.
Elijah is extremely lucky. Things almost always turn out in his favor. As a result, he is extremely overconfident, often taking absurd risks. Elijah's leather jacket and lab coat are stocked with an endless array of random objects, enabling him to always find what he needs most at any given time.
Elijah Sight weilds an indestructable rubber chicken with a number of unique properties. These include the ability to fire hard boiled eggs, the ability to absorb the properties of matter placed inside, and the ability to be stretched to tremendous volume. This chicken is an extension of Elijah's soul, and cannot be destroyed, manipulated, or taken from him against his will. He can dismiss it from the material world at will, and pull it out of hism pockets whenever he needs it.
Elijah Sight likes delicious potatoes.
He is the only known survivor of two-hand touch football with the dreaded RUSSIAN MALE DUCK.
It has become obvious to those that have met him in combat that Elijah's pockets connect to an entire hidden dimension. What follows is a discourse on the properties of Elijah's Hammerspace.
First off, it's artificial. It's not a naturally occuring dimension. It's as much a product of Elijah's mind as his rubber chicken.
It's an endless ethereal realm, infinite for all practical purposes. Some form of atmosphere exists inside, allowing for living beings to exist within. This "atmosphere" has several unique properties, most of which are kept under wraps for the time being. The most important of these properties, however, is that it consists of "thick air". You know when something vanishes into thin air? When Eli puts it in his pocket, it vanishes into thick air. Thick air, while to the senses no different than normal air, has the unique property of allowing living beings to "swim" through it. A person inside this dimension would therefore be able to move freely in any direction they wished.
There are three known gates into Elijah's hammerspace; (his two jackets and his backpack), and there may be more. Only Eli knows for sure how many and where they are. Only Elijah knows the complex methods required to find a pocket-sized hole in an infinite void, so anyone unfortunate enough to get trapped inside is pretty much stuck until Elijah lets them out.
Once something is placed inside, it follows the path of it's momentum, drifting off into the void. Elijah has a limited form of control over the objects inside, allowing him to call any one of them to any one of his entryways.

Here's the profile of my actual combat avatar, Cpt. Elijah Sight, of the UNSC cruiser Damien Kar. He hasn't seen action in some time.
Height: 6'3"
Hair: White
Eyes: One, blue. Wears an eye patch.
Age: 73 (Note: Elijah looks to be in his late 50s, and is capable of physical feats akin to those of a man a third of his age. This is due to a number of factors, including the advanced medical science of the future, the action of paranormal forces on him, and his lifetime of rigorous training in the UNSC.)
Personality: Wise and venerable, cool and collected, warm and friendly. Diplomatic at all times. Brilliant military strategist.
History: Elijah was born in Chicago in the late 23d century. Preliminary tests revealed a number of valuable genetic markers. At the age of three, Elijah was conscripted into the UNSC Navy. Until the age of twelve, he was trained in basic military protocol and basic combat doctrine. At the age of thirteen, UNSC aptitude tests marked him as suitable for officer position.
For three more years he endured the brutal regimens of Pre-Command school. At the end of this training, he was the best the UNSC had to offer – bright, strong, and a fierce loyalty to the UNSC navy.
On his sixteenth birthday, Elijah entered into his final examination. He was airlifted to a remote desert location, along with two other cadets. These were Laura Hikowa and George Williamson. Their goal was to infiltrate a secure facility, capture a UNSC dropship, and pilot it to safety. All a mock maneuver, of course. After hours of marching, they arrived at the facility. They entered to find the guards dead, horribly massacred.
Williamson panicked. He attacked Laura Hikowa, seriously wounding her. He then fled to the Dropship, which had critically low fuel reserves. He dusted off, abandoning Elijah and Sara to the desert.
Elijah gathered what little water there was in the facility, less that three ounces. He then set of across the desert, bearing Hikowa on his back. After six days of wandering, delirious and fevered, he arrived at the UNSC outpost. He and Hikowa were nursed back to health. The Admiralty deemed Elijah’s actions heroic in the extreme, and immediately graduated him to full Lieutenant. He boarded a shuttle, and dusted off for UNSC Orbital Command.
He never made it.
The shuttle was pulled into a wormhole, tearing its way through space. Not a rare occurrence in his home dimension. So common, in fact, that there are insurance companies specializing in wormhole coverage. In any case, Elijah was deposited, sans shuttle, in a strange new land. It was similar to feudal England, but with an accepted caste of mages in control. Here, his hitherto-unnoticed psychic ability was recognized as the mark of a High Mage, and he was rapidly inducted into society.
He became a member of the Knights of Clarity, ancient guardians of the forces of Order. Years of training saw him to adulthood, and he became a great hero in that land. His questing brought him great fame and glory, as well as two unique artifacts… One was the Lens of Clarity. This was the sacred artifact of the Knights of Clarity, and the focus of all the powers of Law in this universe. It was capeable of piercing any illusion, casting aside all falsehood, and revealing the truth unfettered. It's influence also renders Elijah immutable - transformative or mind-manipulating forces cannot affect him.
The second was the last Runeblade. Yes, Cairn Splitter, blood child of Stormbringer and Mournblade, soul-sucking demon blade of the nether realms. This awesome weapon was the focus of all the powers of Chaos.
Unwittingly, Elijah had become the Eternal Champion, human agent of the forces of Order and Chaos in this universe.
But as fate would have it, he was not long for that world. As he struck out to combat the High Lord Necromancer, dark mage of the High Tower, disaster struck. The Arch-Necromage saw his coming, and decided against open warfare. Instead, he tore open a new gate in space-time, and flung Elijah back to his homeland.
There, he was given a hero’s welcome. His unique powers, gained from his time as a Knight of Clarity, saw him through a meteoric rise in the UNSC Navy. Eventually, he became captain of a cruiser, the Damien Kar. However, political storms were brewing. Sinister powers were seizing control of the UNSC military, and Elijah’s fierce idealism would not allow him to cede to their machinations. They saw fit to remove him from their affairs, and put the Damien Kar on a patrol in the furthest reaches of space, away from their plans.
Still later, the Damien Kar fell through a rift in the very fabric of reality. This was no mere bridge between dimensions, this was a hole through the universe itself. Elijah and his crew found themselves in a strange new universe, where the UNSC was replaced with a tyrannical Empire, and where their mortal enemies and closest companions were a band of space-roaming Orks…
Powers and Abilities: Elijah is a skilled unarmed combatant. Thanks to years of military training, he is a cunning strategist.
Elijah's sword, Cairn Splitter, is a soul-sucking entity of pure chaos from beyond time. It is a focus for all the powers of Chaos, and has a limited sentience. It is highly magical, and capable of acting on it's own. It is indestructable. Any serious wound inflicted by the Runesword is immediatly fatal, as it will consume the victim's soul and add it's strength to Elijah's. Elijah will avoid using it whenever possible because of it's inherent evil.
Elijah's lens of Clarity renders him immutable - transformative or mind-manipulating forces cannot affect him. It also allows him to see the True Name of any foe, as well as to pierce the veils of any illusions or shape-shifting. He always percieves things as they truly are. The Lens itself is a circular piece of glass, two inches in diameter. It is embedded horizontally in Elijah's left eye, bisecting it neatly in half, for which reason he wears an eye patch.
Elijah is captain of a UNSC cruiser, the Damien Kar. He can call in air strikes and orbital bombardments, and has access to a full compliment of battle-hardened Marines.
Knights of Clarity practice a discipline known as 'Clear Magic'. It contains several powerful spells of concealment, as well as many that expand the Knight's perceptions.
Equipment: Standard UNSC uniform, pistol, Cairn Splitter, the Lens of Clarity, the UNSC cruiser Damien Kar.
