No he's not a courier, just some upstart.

I actually forgot that Matthew Perry voiced him, guess that explains Dan's tweets about Ross and Rachael the other day.

Yeah, Grace's behaviour here is very disturbing and, to put it mildly, downright unhealthy. It's funny though.

I am contemplating the irony of a person shooting someone in the head and said someone then survives to become their obsessed stalker. That scenario is so wrong and twisted that it gives me cold chills.

Brain damage equals love?

...Yeah, that's pretty disturbing.

The only reason that works is because he expects all his "romantic" partners to be severely brain damaged.

You'd have to be brain damaged to find him appealing.

It's only one step (well, maybe one half-step, in a staircase which is chipped and tilted and may give way at any moment) better than the habit soap operas have of writing a woman falling in love with the man who raped her a few seasons ago.

We should at least take solace in the fact that Grace is just role playing a character that wants to solve all of the world's (or at least the state of Nevada's) problems in a non-violent way, and who may suffer from Stockholm Syndrome due to brain damage after getting shot in the head. ;)

Grace herself is merely being gamerrific.  This isn't the first, last or worst example of how playing a game's quirks and limits for advantage produces bizarre character behavior.

Dan's stated before that the seduction skill seems to work out of context with and regardless of the actual situation.

... Yeah, what Grace is doing in-game is... yeah, freaky. Didn't think I'd find myself agreeing with that guy about anything when she found him, but... well.

Well, on the jerk's place I would expect that she wants to get me somewhere without witnesses and then torture me.

Even if you don't actually play a (known) game's quirk/limit, the mere fact it's game means you can try much crazier things that you would do in real life just to see what will happen. Behaviour of Grace the player is completely normal here. Behaviour of the courier character is very disturbing, but looking on other stuff game characters often do, not really extraordinary. And I mean normal game characters: for maximal craziness, remember "twitch plays pokemon" ...

Generikb has several Lets Plays out of him playing Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4. And in all of them he played variations of a character he called "Genny the Jerk" in which he'd try to lie, steal and more often then not, take the sides of the bad guys. Fallout 4 was really hard to stay true to the character because most of the "sarcastic" dialog options were very jerk sounding, though he did try to extort caps for doing tasks.

Though for actual role playing, you might be interesting in Kaybe. :)

Who said anything about love? @The Old Hack said "obsessed stalker", after all. :)

Wait, isn't generikb that letsplayer who has the vocabulary of a bad 90s kids show?

Opens every video with "Yo, Yo, Yo, Everybody!" as if talking like that hadn't gotten annoying as all hell 20 years ago?

That's the guy, though he's not anywhere close to as bad as you describe him. There are far, far worse LPers out there, with far less eloquence than he. He's not my favorite, but I'll watch an episode of something from him once a month or so.

(Also, your comment comes across a tad...aggressive and antagonistic as a response to someone else recommending Generik to other people. Critiquing Generik is fine, but there are far better and more diplomatic ways to do it than attacking something someone else likes. It's a bit uncalled for).

I'm well aware there are worse out there. there are five letsplayers total on all of youtube i consider tolerable. one that i actually like (Nerd3).
the vast majority come off as either immature, or annoying.

The Moderator: Matoyak does have a point, InfiniteRemnant. You did come across a bit strongly. Something like "I personally find him irritating, but to each their own" might have been better when responding in this way.

Ah. This guy.

I believe I stuck a lit stick of dynamite in his pants at the first opportunity, then wore his suit as my trophy.

Speaking of no murder runs, tried to do one in Skyrim with a mod that makes enemies turn neutral if they cry out they yield.

My Sauron-expy's castle now has gained maybe 30 bandits who keep scrapping with the regular recruits. It's at the point where he doesn't dare go to his throne room for fear his original orc troops have decapitated the bandits and coated his freshly-cleaned-of-the-lich-that-used-to-live-here floor.

Is that how the courier actually reacts?

this is benny's reaction more or less

sadly, nobody remembers who the Seduction Specialist was at the time of writing, so I can't figure out who to ask about everything that is wrong with this scene
