Yes, given the oddities that are common in D&D as played, the “every roll is 50% odds of critical success and 50% odds of critical failure” is the only part that stood out as unusual in that description.

Just had the most surreal thing happen, at least the most surreal thing in a while. The Shriners were out in the little cars and just drove past my house. 5 in electric cars with weird bodies and 3 on normal "go carts". They got out of range before I could get the camera, but it was weird. I think they were practicing for a parade.
