Yeah, has anyone here read Neal Stephenson's "The Diamond Age"? That story takes place in a world of nanotechnology where, among other things, synthetic diamond is cheaper than conventional glass.

I only read it, not memorized it, but I don't think the glass was so expensive either. But, yes, synthetic diamond can be very cheap. Throw-it-to-garbage-can cheap.

(So, yes, I would also assume those sunglasses are from diamond, unless they actually DO break in the game.)
