I've been fighting a non migraine headache for most of the day.  Just about 30 minutes ago I noticed that I had some slight nasal blockage, leading me to think this might be a sinus headache.  I've taken as decongestant to see if that helps.  This, while not any where near as bad as a migraine, even a mild one, is being a bit of a bitch as it's not responding to analgesics, which sucks.

I really should start thinking about non migraine headaches being a sinus headache more often.

Going to my primary care doctor tomorrow afternoon.  I think I'm developing a nasal infection. All the usual symptoms, plus a sore throat. No fever, as usual. So, no suspicions that it's COVID-19.

Get tested if you can any way.  If nothing else it will add you as a data point, which right now is fairly important.

Everybody can get tested if they want to, right? And the tests are beautiful!

As I understand it, testing is still hit or miss on who can get tested and the test is similar to a flu test with is not fun.

You mean, Trump didn't tell the truth? Unpossible.

If Trump said the sun rose in the east I would be out with a compass the next morning to take a reading.

Saw my podiatrist today on a follow-up to the Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. I was able to report that I hadn't had any pain in the arch of my right foot since about 3 days after the cortisone shot near my Achilles tendon. No additional shot called for today.

I brought up a couple of new-ish problems. First, my feet have been flaking something fierce. I won't go TMI on this one - suffice it to say he thinks I have a fungal infection. He prescribed a cream and an oral antifungal.

The other problem has to do with the hardware that's been installed in my right ankle since I broke it back in 2009 - seven screws and a plate. It's been hurting something fierce at random times. It comes in waves, like someone is taking a fecking sledgehammer and slamming it into it. The doctor didn't really have much to offer here. He mentioned the possibility of removing the hardware, which is a no-go: I had the hardware taken out of my left foot about 2 or 3 years after the fall, and it took forever for the surgical wound to heal (and only with the help of a wound care specialist and another operation involving implanting T-cells). I don't know what's going to happen this time around.

Good news.  Hopefully you can get this resolved as soon as possible.

Fungal infections can be a right bitch to get rid of.

Oh that sucks.  Random pain is never good.  Random pain that they don't really have a treatment plan for sucks even more.

I have a non migraine headache this morning.  However I also have noticeable nasal congestion, so I started with a decongestant with my headache meds this morning.

And it's not responding to my normal meds.  This sucks.  Not a bad as a migraine but bad enough that I'm back in bed with the lights out a couple of hours early today.

Time has come again, as the song goes - It's back surgery time again. Time for another lumbar rhizotomy on my left side. The pain has been getting to the point where oxycodone alone won't control it. So, I go in a week from today (June 9th) and have some of my nerve roots killed via radio frequency bombardment. I'm concerned because I was planning on starting the eBay sale of Derivations CDs on Monday, but now I'm going to have to postpone it until at least Wednesday or Thursday.

I broke a tooth this afternoon and I have a bruise on my right thigh that I have no idea where it came from.  I've got a persistent pain in my right shoulder that has me eating ibuprofen every 6 hours round the clock.  I've got an shrink's appointment Monday and I'm going to be looking into seeing a dentist and going to the urgent care clinic about my shoulder next week.  My cup of joy overflows.

Oww. I sympathize with your shoulder. I was just diagnosed today with a problem with my right rotator cuff. Slept on it wrong about 6 weeks ago, and now it's waking me up in the middle of the night with the pain, despite oxycodone. I'm supposed to ice it 24/7 and do an exercise to remediate it. Fun.

That's about the time frame for me, and I suspect the same problem.  Will find out later next week.  Right now I'm getting by on ibuprofen, but I'd like something stronger.

Today was shrink day, no change in drugs for at least the next 6 weeks. One of the drugs I'm on, Invega (paliperidone) is rather expensive, even with insurance,  so if she stops getting samples of it I may have to change to an older drug in the same family, but right now it looks like she will still be able to get samples.

Surgery (the left lumbar rhizotomy) was more or less successful on my spine yesterday morning. I had no problems with the anesthesia, and no immediate post-op issues. I even managed to slip the doctor a copy of Derivations as a bribe to do the surgery right. :) As I sit here at 2am Wednesday, however, I'm about to go crazy from the left lumbar back pain.

LATER (cuz I fell asleep): I'm sitting here at 4:30am with vastly reduced pain. Haven't even taken my oxycodone yet. I was fighting to stay awake while writing the above. I'm not fighting to stay awake now. That could be temporary.

Here we go again. It's been almost a year, and I'm still posting about medical problems.

I spent a few hours in a hospital Emergency Room this past Sunday due to stabbing pains in the lower right quadrant of my abdomen. I have no appendix nor gallbladder, so it wasn't either of those. They drew blood and ran a urine test, and the doctor ordered a CT scan. Nothing showed up, other than a trace of blood in my urine. However, I exhibited no signs of kidney or bladder stones, so that was ruled out. In summary, I was given 2 shots of morphine, a bag of fluids, and a rather terse diagnosis of, "It might be a hernia - those don't show up on CT scans," then was told by the doctor he couldn't do anything for me. I was then sent home, still in pain.

My stabbing pains have since receded, but I've been left with an uncomfortable soreness in the same area. I've got an appointment to see a GI doctor on this coming Monday. Maybe he can clear up what's going on.

Yesterday was a source of no fun. I had a filling fall out of the top right rear molar in my mouth. I'm scheduled to see the dentist tomorrow morning to get it replaced. I hate dentists. I don't dread them - I just hate them. They're not any fun.

I've been put on the first long term non brain prescription drug this century.  Been put on Atorvastatin for high cholesterol for at least the next 6 weeks.  Also taken of NSAID for the same period of time.
