My son is showing a particular knack for picking out really good-and-ripe avocados lately. The last couple of batches he's brought home have been sublime. Just had one, mashed up with a couple of pinches of Saltverks Seaweed Salt and a good sprinkle of Penzey's Shallot Pepper. Om nom nom.

I went on a shorter walk today, just short of a mile.  I went to the farmer's market instead of my normal walk.  I got lettuce, enough for 2 maybe 3 salads. I know what I'm having for supper for the next couple of days.

For lunch today, I microwaved a can of chili, then cut 6 tortillas into bit sized chunks and then added them to the chili instead of the soda crackers I normally add.
Not doing that again.  The texture was all wrong.  I'll stick to soda crackers or fritos and eat the torillas in other ways.

I'm drinking gorilla mountain tea, which is very, very mellow. It goes great with how I feel.  I have nothing to do, and I'm gonna do it slowly.

I like Earl Grey, Pu'er, and smoked tea well enough. They go in rotation when I'm out of milk.  But there is something about milky tea that I really like.  1st mug of it today made the icky weather not be such a bad thing.

I'm drinking a cup of pu'erh right now. And I have a couple more bricks of it on order, likely to be delivered today or tomorrow.

(Pu'erh usually comes in some sort of compressed lump. Rectangular bricks of 250 grams are one of the three most common forms.)

(Also, if you see a pu'erh brick, cake, or block that is wrapped only in plastic - don't buy it. The stuff is supposed to be exposed to air for years, so the primary wrapping should be paper. Mail-ordering it, an extra plastic wrapping may be necessary for shipping, but the paper should still be there and should say what year the block was formed.)

My post-op drink of choice has been either Muscle Milk protein shakes or Bulgarian cultured buttermilk. I prefer the latter, but I get more nutrition from the former.

It's gotten hot enough that I've started to drink faux G&T as my evening drink. 

• Morning: Tea. 
• Lunch and early afternoon, Dr. Pepper. 
• Late afternoon/evening faux G&T. 
• Midnight, if I get up then, peppermint tea.

I've been bringing Mrs. Prof coffee in bed for a long while now, and recently I've expanded to bring breakfast as well. One thing led to another, and by the time I was done I'd bought a miniature vase to hold a sprig of herb, and custom laser-engraved coasters with a logo we paid for a long time ago but never used. I didn't spend a ton of money. Just several small purchases.

Making Tabasco chili tonight. They sell a liquid chili starter in a jar. Good stuff. They pulled it from the market a couple of years ago, but now it's back. Gonna see if they changed anything.

OK, I've tried all the Freddy's “steakburger” options.  Favorite is the “Prime Rib Steakburger,” which is a mushroom, fried onions, and cheese thing.  Also the most expensive.  2nd is classic with bacon.  3rd is just classic.  The rest are meh. The least favorite is the “steakburger bowl,” which is a chopped-up burger on a bed of lettuce with a little bacon and onions.  The odd man out is the “steakburger tacos,” which are white boy sort of spicy.  One is enough for my pill, and it's the cheapest thing on the menu.  They are “temporary” items, however.
