      Welcome!   03/05/2016

Welcome, everyone, to the new 910CMX Community Forums. I'm still working on getting them running, so things may change.  If you're a 910 Comic creator and need your forum recreated, let me know and I'll get on it right away.  I'll do my best to make this new place as fun as the last one!

If you think the Dungeons and Dragons movie is any better, I feel worried for you.

Never saw it.

Come to think of it, I can only really recall the Dead Alewives D&D sketch, but only because it's been immortalized in 8bit theater.

Dungeons & Dragons still doesn't beat Highlander 2, and I saw both of them on the big screen, so I speak from some authority here.  ;-)

For me the two of them are like asking which you prefer, food poisoning or falling down the stairs. I'd really rather avoid both.

If the poisoned food tastes good and is well prepared, then I would prefer to enjoy the meal.  After the meal, I would chose to fall down the stairs.  Hopefully, if the fall doesn't kill me it will at least knock me out until the food poisoning has run its course.

The problem is that in the case of both movies, you are spending about two hours of your life that you will never get back. I would rather invest my time in less painful ways.

Who's talking about those bad movies?  I want a nice meal and a free trip.

Seriously. I can arrange both of those for you without attendant food poisoning and physical injury. I'd rather prefer that to the risk of losing you as a poster even temporarily.

I heard someone mention the Dungeon and Dragons movie and Highlander 2. Shall I share Noah Antwiler's thoughts?

I have seen his reviews, but by all means share. The Spoony One does not grow boring by being revisited on occasion.

OOC: Where did I leave off again? Something about a confrontation?

Also Spoony makes me sad; he hasn't been producing videos like... at all for almost a year now and while he hasn't lost his touch when he made that last Reb Brown review... idk he's just been so... caustic lately in his live-wires, like moreso than he was during the Final Fantasy VIII review. I miss the guy.

Spoony is struggling with personal problems and he will either cope with them or not. I personally believe in giving him space. 2016 was a horrible year and 2017 hasn't been much of an improvement so far. I am perfectly willing to wait for better times to show for him and the rest of us.

Bah, you kids just don't know how easy you've got it.

Back in my day, if I wanted to get on the forum, I had to go all the way to Rome.

With this electronic chit-chat, you almost never hear anyone say, "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum."

Where have all the good men gone
and where are all the gods?
Where's the streetwise Hercules to fight the rising odds?
Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
late at night I toss and I turn
and I dream of what I need...

Where have all the pumpkins gone? and where are all the gourds?

Where's the luscious butternut to squash the rising odds?

Isn't there a courgette upon a fiery steed?

Late at night, my marrows gone, zucchini's what I need…

This is a rhyme I made on the spot

it's a stream of conscious thought

words and ideas I've gone and caught

for in them is truth that is sought

Or something or other. Pancakes.

In the small hours of the night
as I toss and turn, sleep eluding me
remembering words you once whispered
stills my fear, for I know you were right.

You limned my life with your light
a light finding worth I had never seen
unearthing old dreams I had buried
I relax, finding peace in the night.

There once was a woman from Venus....

No, no, if we're going to quote Data reciting poetry, there's only one real option:

                      Ode to Spot

"Felis catus is your taxonomic nomenclature,
An endothermic quadruped, carnivorous by nature.
Your visual, olfactory, and auditory senses
Contribute to your hunting skills and natural defenses.
I find myself intrigued by your subvocal oscillations,
A singular development of cat communications
That obviates your basic hedonistic predilection
For a rhythmic stroking of your fur to demonstrate affection.
A tail is quite essential for your acrobatic talents.
You would not be so agile if you lacked its counterbalance.
And when not being utilized to aid in locomotion,
It often serves to illustrate the state of your emotion.
Oh Spot, the complex levels of behavior you display
Connote a fairly well-developed cognitive array,
And though you are not sentient, Spot, and do not comprehend,
I nonetheless consider you a true and valued friend."
