Hmm, Ashley feeling a tad threatened by Catalina? I'm sure she doesn't have anything to worry about in terms of Catalina stealing Elliot away.

Susan meanwhile ... but Ashley will probably be ok with Susan stealing Elliot.

Ashey doesn't have to let Susan steal Elliot, she's probably willing to share.

I don't believe Ashley is aware that Catalina had a crush on Susan though, it'd be amusing to see her reaction to that if it comes up.

OK, as part of the web of shipping:

(Ashley -> Elliot) -> <- Susan <-Catalina

I don't know ... maybe this ...

(Ashley <-> Elliot)
                        ^        <---- (oo) Susan
                  Catalina

That works.

Of course we will need to add in Liz in college...

Totally don't have a grudge.

Y'know, this is the first sign we've had in the entire comic of Ashley being anything but nice and good and respectful of others.

Oh, yeah, this is non-canon.  Carry on!

I suspect that, similarly to Hanma, this grudge is canon.

However, it's not entirely first time. She hold grudge against bad Tom too. Understandably.

I'm not sure if I'd call that a grudge so much as not wanting to see him take advantage of another girl.  The expression on her face does seem more than just worried, though.

I'm not so sure of that... I get a bit of a nonstandard vibe from Liz. Like maybe she's asexual.

I doubt she's sure what she is, hence her plan to experiment in college.

Or, alternatively, her plan to put off all discussion of her own sexuality until later... and then later... and then later...

(Or maybe we're both right - it isn't as if asexuality is a common subject of discussion in high school, so she may be asexual and unaware that such a thing is even possible. In that case, she might think that she'll start getting those feelings in a few more years. Like, when she's in college. And in the meantime she doesn't want to talk about it because she's uncomfortable with being so different from the kids around her.)

She may only look asexual compared to Ashley.

She's definitely not aromantic - she has ex-ex-boyfriend. Combining her cynical goth nature with making out would likely be challenge by itself, though.

Considering she's had a boyfriend, who she dumped during the uniform fiasco, then got back with afterwards. I'd guess that her willingness to experiment in college makes her bi-curious at least.

After what she said at the mall about not wanting to get a taste of something only to have it taken away, we could extrapolate that Liz is looking for a long-term relationship, not to just play around.  Dating, or even having a boyfriend, can certainly be part of that quest without mistaking it for the final goal the way so many naïve young couples do.  You don't have to believe that everyone you date is "the one."  Dating can just be a way of having fun with someone else, no commitment, no dishonesty, and as long as everyone involved agrees about that, there's no problem.  I don't see Liz letting herself get all wrapped up in someone else very easily, but neither do I see her rejecting that possibility completely.

Reasons for an asexual girl to have a boyfriend...

Good reason: she isn't aromantic. Specifically, she's heteroromantic.

Less-good reason: because at her age everyone expect it of her and she doesn't want to be seen as weird. (This is more likely to be true if SHE thinks she's weird and doesn't like it.)

Both reasons can be true simultaneously. And there may be other reasons.

Of course, it's entirely possible that Liz is entirely serious about what she said. She's going to meet people in college whom, if things don't work out between them, she can be reasonably confident of never seeing again. (Most effective if she goes to a college well outside commuting distance from Moperville.) There are few such people in Moperville High. (Yes, there ARE quite a few she'll never see again after high school... but identifying them before graduation is problematic in most cases.)

She's goth. I think she would be proudly weird in any way.

That wouldn't exactly help if she's going to experiment with Susan specifically, though. Unless it's control group she is worried about.

Maybe she has some reputation in Moperville High and is going to pretend to be someone else in college.

It's possible she has some unrealistic view on how college life is going to be, including but not limited to amount of alcohol available.
