I like this one.  The characters look like themselves, and the body language, especially Sarah's confidence, is clear and eloquently drawn.  Agreed the fur-sock intersection is well-drawn, although I wonder why a cat form would even need shoes; you can even see how there's the opposite effect on Susan, with her socks being slightly thicker than her legs, a detail a lot of artists skip.  Her facial expression, mostly her eyes, convey her discomfort, although her stance is perhaps a little more neutral than I would have expected...perhaps she's just getting used to the new exhibitionist side of Sarah.

Sarah does seem to have made herself "taller" here -- Susan is more flat-chested than Sarah.  Then again, the idea that Sarah is relatively flat-chested seems to have been discarded back when the Fund got funded, so maybe I should just give up on Dan drawing her with that particular trait.  At least Susan is drawn smaller, something she's never drawn attention to but which seems to have been consistent in her design.  If you hadn't picked up on it yet, I like there being variety in that department!

Agree.

Because the tiling is not whole way, she will need to at least cross asphalt street if not walking for asphalt sidewalk. In summer, as obvious from Susan's clothes.

Although personally I would suggest sandals.

(Also, I would suggest high heels if she has digitigrade feets, but she doesn't seem to.)

Perhaps it's more resignation because they already walked five blocks and she tried several arguments without success.

Sarah's socks are way too tight for someone with fur (let alone fur that thick); she has to be uncomfortable like that.

It's likely her normal sock. And yes, it must be uncomfortable, but probably not as much as those shoes barefoot.

Hmmm ... and perhaps there are no fur on foots? She has none or almost none on palms.

Those are human shoes.  I am guessing that Sarah has non-furry feet which makes the socks bearable.

I would go so far as to guess that she (with Tedd, probably) designed the fur coverage to extend to a specific point on the calf.  Thus allowing the illusion that she is wearing furry pants that end at the socks.

Yes ; guess that "pants even for catgirls" action doesn't spread to shoe shop yet.

After spending so much time working with Tedd, Sarah can probably design the form herself, but of course needs Tedd's help to "program" it into watches.

Otherwise, yes, it may be deliberate with fur ending EXACTLY where the sock starts.

In fact ... is it possible the spell is designed to auto-detect where sock starts and end the coverage there? May not be harder than the minimal looseness.

Cats have their own built-in sandals, their footpads, which are tough enough to be perfectly fine to walk on without any other footwear.  You don't see cats avoiding the pavement because it's too rough.  Any good catgirl form should include tougher feet.  Even humans can develop tougher soles if they walk barefoot regularly, such that pavement isn't a problem.

I have seen cats avoiding blacktop because it's too hot.

And then there's all the crap you find on the sidewalks and streets. Old chewing gum, bird droppings, half eaten burgers pulled from trashcans by birds, shattered glas and all that other crap you really don't want to step in. At least a pair of sandals is probably a good thing if you're going to walk around town.

I don't see why she'd have a problem wearing those shoes without socks, unless for some reason they're a lot more uncomfortable than any of the sneakers I've worn without socks. Personally I find that sneakers are more comfortable with socks so long as the socks are comfortable, but on a warm day given the choice between wearing socks that tug at my leg hairs and no socks at all I'd choose no socks.

As for whether she has fur on her feet, if they are consistent with her hands, then the soles of her feet and the bottoms of the ends of her toes are without fur, but the rest of the surface of her feet has fur.

I suppose the idea Pharaoh RutinTutin mentioned that this form was specifically designed with fur-less feet to go with those socks is possible, but it seems like it would have been more practical to make a form that can go with multiple "outfits" (including no footwear) and just wear loose socks with it (or sandals if she doesn't have any loose socks and doesn't want to wear her shoes without socks).

Sarah is such a Tedd these days...

All that time spent in the basement as Tedd's assistant certainly influenced her behavior.

Which is why I mentioned being summer.

Also this. It may not be COMMON in all towns but there is risk of shattered glass you definitely don't want to step on, and most people prefer to avoid the gum, bird droppings, dog "droppings", half eaten burgers, half digested burgers and lot of other stuff.

True cat will pay attention to where she's going AND her eyes are closer to ground. Sarah wants to be able to talk to Susan while walking.

I have different experience with sneakers ... but that can be brand-based. And obviously, we don't know what brand exactly she wears.

I think the white parts of her face and hands are either without fur or with much shorter fur. Unlike the similarly colored part on her body - note the shape of her left breast.

I would also consider it more practical ... unless the POINT of that form is to test the sock autodetection.

... even in canon, not speaking about sketches and pinups.

Well, no wonder: Nanase and Susan were there just for few hours and we saw what it did with them.

Ellen is probably also to blame for Nanase, I would imagine that anything that Elliot was embarrassed to think about was given more consideration by Ellen and she perhaps shared that with Nanase.

Let's see: Ellen is deliberately trying to be less stick in mud, she doesn't need to worry about getting Nanase pregnant, she wears sexy clothes if she feels insecure ... and she has FV5 beam. The list of things she's embarrassed to think about will probably shorten considerably under FV5, and remember that for at least few months of time, she MUST've been using FV5 regularly or it could activate on it's own. Oh yes there is definitely some blame on Ellen.

Also, Nanase is Tedd's cousin - seems at least part of "Teddiness" is hereditary from Noriko's mother side, which makes her easier to influence.

Regardless, even counting for different starting point, how she changed in those few hours was remarkable. She started like this and turned into this.

Gum, droppings, and broken glass aren't confined to the pavement.  They are, however, much easier to see and avoid on pavement than they are hidden in the grass.  Likewise sticks and rocks with sharp ends, wasps and bees, cigarette butts, etc....

That's true, however Sarah is now walking on pavement.

Also, tougher soles can protect you against sticks and rocks with sharp ends, but not against glass - glass is TOO sharp for that.

Oh, she was a Tedd long before she started working with him, she just has more opportunities to bring it out these days (at least in non-canon material).

As Herald Loveall said on the forums back in 2010 (in one of a handful of posts by various people I've saved copies of):

Quote

As to her being the normal one, sure, with regards to access to magic she was the most normal of the group, but it's also been suggested that she's a furry, she tried to back out of an awkward situation by openly announcing that she was going to drag her boyfriend into the janitor's closet to make out, she thought that buying porn magazines for anatomy references was a good idea, and she's joked about having Elliot engage in cross-dressing. The "normal" one is probably the second biggest pervert of the main eight.

And later on, she said outright that she's always been interested in transformation.
