"At least Magus is having fun."

I can sort of follow that. He has been stuck in a nonphysical dimension for years and everybody he met there treated him like a punching bag. It must feel damn good to have an opponent you can really cut loose on after that.

Yes. And it's totally self-defense.

Also, seems that we already have A crater. Not particularly large and probably not hard to explain (gas leak?), but Arthur sort of predicted that.

The crater in the parking lot had always been there.
The impacting Uretronic just moved some pavement out of the way to make it more visible.

It is unfortunate that the record of this battle is in still pictures and not high speed video.
For example, the way Magus landed on the Golem.  While the snapshot looks impressive, how are we to know if he actually managed to stick the landing?  This could be the difference between Gold and Bronze.

8.7.  8.5.  8.8.  8.9.  8.6.  9.1.

And now for the artistic impression...

I wonder if Magus landed on the Golem's chest or its head. Hard to tell from the angle in the last panel. Though either way, I doubt the Golem is down for the count. Such things have a tendency to be highly resilient. This one survived a blast from a god-like entity after all.

I was thinking chest, specifically where it was already heavily damaged, would make sense to focus on that crater that's already got substantial cracking around it.

Also thinking chest.

And yes, unless the chest contains some critical system ... however the golem does seem to be mostly hollow, which can mean it's internals are much more vulnerable. And the blast from a god-like entity was what allowed Magus to take it down - he didn't do any NEW holes in him, just further damage of parts already damaged before.

well the golem did suffer more damage from it's own blast, that would certainly have helped Magus, and Magus can at least take credit for that by being able to redirect where the golem was aiming.

and even if there wasn't any critical systems inside the golem's chest, the structural integrity being compromised so much would still be enough to incapacitate it.
