Yeah, but the point is, these are some of the first movies that broke the pattern and helped prove that female-led and Black-led movies can indeed make money. Wonder Woman may have been the first, but even that was not until fairly recently.

They proved that movies about female and/or (or at least "or") black superheroes can make money. One frustrating thing is that non-superhero movies (even non-superhero action movies) with females as the main characters had made money before, but the movie studios apparently found excuses why they didn't count as proof that such movies could make money in the future.

(The first examples I can think of is the first the first two Alien movies; I have to wonder if the studios thought those were flukes, or that the Xenomorph was the star of those movies. Another pair of movies that I think of as starring a woman are the first two Terminator movies, but it's pretty clear that as far as the studios were concerned Schwarzenegger was the star, not Hamilton.)

They used bullshit excuses. Does it really matter which ones they used?

It's less clear for first one, but I find quite obvious that the main star of second terminator movie was Schwarzenegger. However that excuse for Aliens would really be interesting.

It would take a LOT of flexibility even for a Hollywood producer to claim that Schwarzenegger was the main star of Aliens. Still, I can actually imagine them trying. :demonicduck:

I hear he's going to star in a historical documentary on the life of a famous composer. He'll be Bach.
