Game ballance?

When I played GURPS, that meant a dozen official supplements in each hand with the basic set on your head

Yes, GURPS Bunnies and Burrows was always the top book in the right hand
It helped keep the players from noticing the GURPS Illuminati and GURPS Horror books

I've never played GURPS but I have a large number of their splat books as they often have a lot of data that is not tied to the game for the subject in question.

Yay for speed-line background in panel two! Yay for speed-line backgrounds with perspective in panels one and three!

...When I look at panel 2, I hear Ninja Gaiden music in my head, and it's very tempting to imagine Susan's head bobbing up and down as she runs...

Apparently the third edition supplement on Arthurian legend has been used as an actual textbook in some college courses on the subject. GURPS, the game everyone reads, and no one plays.

If so, that was the cheapest college text book I ever bought, and I wasn't even enrolled in the class

Really, I just wanted the game stats for the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch

The price might be the reason they choose it :)

Because actually playing it is too much work, possibly.

However, I may not be the right person to determine that. After all, I read a Amber Diceless RPG rules without ever assuming I might be playing that with anyone.

Yeah, don't try using that without investing five points in numeracy. Or do you get to count three for free?
