Do the Curious George books written after Hans and Margret Rey count?

What about the Holmes books not written by Doyle?

How many books has  Louis L'Amour written after he died?

Will EGS end just because Dan can no longer think of excuses to keep these twenty-something teenagers in high school?

And what of creative contributions, other than authorship, transcending the original artist?  Did Bugs Bunny go silent along with Mel Blanc?

 

Perhaps some stories are too big to be told by a single narrator

Well he has all but said that their adventures will continue through at least college.  Given the speed that comic times runs, 4 years of school might be 20 or more years in real life.
