Can you like some aspect of something without being a fan?

Can two fans of something enjoy different aspects of that thing?

For example, I am a fan of Cecil B DeMille's 1956 epic The Ten Commandments

I also enjoyed the Book on which it was based

There are people who do not share my opinion of the Book who did like the movie

Which of us are not the real fans?

Apparently, the huge fans in the tunnels under the runway at Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) have never been used

I suspect that they are for evacuation of smoke and it's a good thing they haven't been used.
