Arthur makes a good point, there are often more options available.

I can't nay say his hypothetical job in another universe, but here, where we live, sometimes decisiveness and accepting your losses while pressing forward counts for something. In the long run, though, it does lead to evil being done.

A way to look at it; successful generals are not universally loved. Crappy generals do even more damage.

Congratulations Tedd

As an infant you were expected to be a powerful wizard, but because it wasn't easy to see you became such a disappointment to you mother that she left you and your entire country

Now the man your father respects, but does not like, tells you that he expects you to be the means of preventing the awful things he has done in the past from reoccurring in the future

Meanwhile your father still does not understand, and openly disapproves of, your gender fluid identity

Plus your girlfriend is proving yet again why raising children in a secret government lab may be harmful to their social development

And have you really shaken the suspicion that Ellen is your fault and that Dunkle family, Elliot, and/or Ellen herself blame you for her existence?

But no pressure, Tedd

This interview will only influence every aspect of the rest of your life

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Arthur is a good man in a difficult place. At least he knows that he is choosing evil, even if it the lesser of several evils. With each strip he is shown to be more and more like my political views.

13 hours ago, Don Edwards said:

A necessary evil is still evil, and we should tolerate no more of it than is truly necessary - while looking for ways to make it less necessary.

I agree with this and it seems that Arthur does as well.
