I thought she was older than she was, based on her most famous character.

Not quite 90, that's pretty close to the 'use by' date. Double, triple, or x4 many rockers (although not Willie Nelson nor the Stones).

Not credited in her Wiki article, I remember seeing her on Bozo when I was quite young; Bozo called her 'Miss Ruth'. (They were not on a bus).

She was not conventionally pretty, but she had something going on; she seemed to have personality, like you'd want to get to know her. Married twice, the second lasted from 1978 until her passing, 46 or 47 years (does not say what day they married).

Sadly, she had Alzheimer's since 2012.

<google>Damn.  I thought he was 20 years younger than that.  Just slightly older than me, not old enough to be my dad.

"Norm! Wadda ya say to a little beer?"

"Where've you been all my life?"

"Daddy's home."

"Hello, nice to meet you. We're gonna get together, you and I."

I saw G Wendt on a celebrity episode of Weakest Link.

He was the first contestant voted off.

I didn't understand until the host summed up his performance.

He answered all of his questions correctly and was the only player to bank money for the team.

The one thing you could not afford to be on that game was competent.

Oddly, this is one of the best explanations of current US politics I've seen, though you said nothing about politics per se . . .

Garry England 1939-2025.

If you are or were an Oklahoman, this means something.  It's also possible he saved your life.

Never heard of him; he was the real deal; wow, just wow.

To me, this feels like another 'Day the music died'. They never regained their sixties popularity, but they had some of the best music. And he was a cornerstone.

While not quite as important to me, Sly Stone died this week as well.

My brother is very much a fan of their music, and he has all of their albums and plays them often.

John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (3 December 1948 – 22 July 2025)

I saw that, three Mozilla 'pocket' articles when I opened my browser.

Black Sabbath was one of the more influential bands of the early metal era. I'm just surprised at the number of hidden metal fans coming out of the woodwork to mourn his death.
