Hello all,

This year I'm planning a bit of merchandising and what not with hopes of having stuff for comic-con.
This raises the issue of finances. Recenty I've looked at the trends for donations in the past few months. I am aware we're in a resesson, but it occurs to me that Sailorsun.org isn't making as much as it use too, while other comics are making 2 to 3 times more.

Here's some examples of the products on the board and various stages of production,
  • Teri Plushie (Work in progress)
  • Mini-Comcs
  • Shirts/mouse pad
  • SailorSun.org Calender
  • coffee mugs; and
  • Full sized comic

So this leaves me to wonder how to increase the website income to help off set some of the merchanising costs. Remember, all this stuff needs to be bought before they are sold to get the best price. Print on demand isn't cost effective. Not to meantion we still have the normal costs of the website to consider.

(not to worry, none of the donations pays for my attending conventions. I'm paying for that myself.)

I would appreated your input. What do you think? The more money put into the website means more money into products and other stuff.

Hi CD,

sadly there isn't a lot of feedback to this topic....

Anyway I kind of like the idea which is used by the SIN Comic (DDG).
You could even do a similar comic because you have a morphing suit too.
But thats up to you what the comic will be about if you ever make a parallel one for donations.
But a fact is that you have a lot more freedom to toy around in a parallel comic than in the established original

Its just that comic's are a bit more interesting and "addicting" than wallpapers.
I for example think that the DDG comic at Sin's is even better than the original series.
So if the Story is interesting and funny enough it could be that people will be willing to donate more again.

Just consider that because of the world wide economy problems
a lot of people are saving there money just in case anything happens with their job etc...

I can only say about myself... it doesn't matter if you continue doing wallpapers or start a parallel story for donations.
I will keep donating every month as long as i can affort it. Because i like your work a lot.

I'm even very interessted into the 24hours comic which is mentioned in your store. I hope its ready soon smile.gif

Bye
Asheara

Thanks for your input Asheara.

At the moment I'm thinking of either using the 'I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle' comic or Wolfpac as a donation incentive comic. OR stick with the current system.

The 24 hrs comic should be comming soon. Right now I'm really focused on Comic-con and getting material for that. I'm planning on converting the 24hrs comic into a mini-comic for comic-con that can be purchased.

This shouldn't be too hard to do...
I think it would be easy...
I have no clue how hard this would be, actually, but here goes:

You should take some of the top-right images, donation incentives (not Wallpapers), and fillers, and make a screensaver out of them. I'd install and use it if it's cheap.
