That's some what beyond Susan's "Bad ass hair in the wind, even with no wind" thing.  That's getting on to full prehensile hair, which so far only Noah and Archie have had.

Nanase’s hair can be any color, style, or length that she wants as long as she is not burnt out. She has had a spell for controlling that since Sister 2.

True, but she's never shown a preference for long pigtails.  The one's she put on Fox were much shorter than the ones Rich fantasized that she had.  Of course the fact that Sexy Mega Nerd was Rich's fantasy, not a form that Nanase chose for herself figures into this a lot.
