Could someone please explain to me what a 'narco terrorist' is?

The Mexican government uses that term. It applies to the cartels that spend a lot of time and energy attacking the police and courts. That's  where the term "Silver or lead" [Plata o plomo] comes from.  Take the bribe or die.

I'll note that we aren't going for them (yet, even though the orange one has said he would), but it's a legitmate term.

The adjective of "narco terrorist" often applies to organizations that use the narcotics trade to fund terrorist activities.  Some will use the phrase to describe an individual in such an organization, regardless of the side on which they operate.  Depending on the size and layout of the organization, it is possible a minion on the narco side may be unaware of the terrorist activity, and verse vicea.

Yeah, the “enforcers” of the cartels aren't drug dealers as such.  And what they are doing in Mexico (and several other Latin American states) is terrorism.  Granted it's money-driven not religious or “being a freedom fighter,” but they are using terror to change a political system.

I got my EXP “cursed guns” mug today.  Some of them are only cursed if you know something about guns; others are cursed just from the jump.

1) I am having some trouble envisioning even a single member of the current administration having the intellect and education to make that distinction.

2) To me it follows logically that they have chosen the term solely to engender fear and outrage in their gullible base.

3) I would be astounded to learn that even a third of the people they had murdered near the coast of Venezuela were actual 'narco terrorists'.

Just for what it's worth, Peru started calling them that first.  But I agree with your statements.

From the always accurate wiki

Quote

The term itself was coined by former President Fernando Belaúnde Terry of Peru in 1983 when describing terrorist attacks against his nation's anti-narcotics police.

The US has been using that term from the early 2000.  It's not an orange gibbon's invention.

Basically concur. I'd be at least surprised if the boat sunk and people killed were anything other than actual fishermen who had nothing to do with drug smuggling.

I think this is all about grabbing oil.

Please, show some respect. Gibbons are far more appealing and clever than the Dumpster Fire is.

Please. The demented orange howler baboon has never invented anything. Every single idea, concept or claim he has ever employed have all been stolen from others.

Not entirely true. Venezuela is also a source of rare earth minerals.

No, losing money running a casino is more or less his "idea."

In all fairness to the Dumpster, and there's not much I'd ever care to say in his defense, I don't think he set out to loose that money, he's just that incompetent.

So, what I am hearing is that Uwe Boll is better at running scams than the orange shitgibbon is.

I'll bet that Mr. Boll is better at making movies than Sirrah is.

I personally feel like I have to apologize to the object of any slur I use with regard to Dumpster Fire. Horse's ass? They are actually useful both to the horse and the rider.

I suppose the Dumpster Fire has some scamming skill set; he has a dwindling base, and much of our G.O.P. still makes excuses for him. He doesn't appeal to me. I saw a bit of his Apprentice show ages ago, long before his political antics, and could not watch it, switched channels. I find him egregiously annoying, I can't stand his idiotic babbling and hypocritical posturing accusations.

One thing he is actually good at though is finding people as stupid as he is and appointing them.

First Combat Use of Underwater Kamikaze Drones: Russian Kilo class Submarine Disabled in Novorossiysk

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has carried out a special operation in the port of Novorossiysk, marking the first-ever combat use of underwater kamikaze drones.

During the operation, SBU-operated Sub Sea Baby underwater drones struck a Russian Navy Project 636.3 submarine (Varshavyanka class; NATO designation: Kilo). The explosion caused critical damage, effectively disabling the vessel.

The submarine was equipped with four Kalibr cruise missile launchers used by Russia for strikes against Ukrainian territory.

The operation was conducted jointly by the SBU’s 13th Main Directorate of Military Counterintelligence and the Ukrainian Navy.

A Varshavyanka-class submarine is estimated to cost around USD 400 million. Due to international sanctions, building a comparable submarine today could cost up to USD 500 million. This class is also known as the “Black Hole” because of its low acoustic signature and reduced sonar visibility.

The submarine had been stationed in Novorossiysk after earlier Sea Baby surface-drone operations forced Russian naval assets to leave Sevastopol Bay in temporarily occupied Crimea.

Armored Trains in 2025? Russia Slaps AI “Eyes” on a Relic of Past Wars

Russian armored train. (Photo: open source)

Russia is trying to keep one of its most anachronistic battlefield platforms alive by adding artificial intelligence. According to Defense Express, Moscow plans to equip its armored trains—relics of 20th-century warfare—with AI-powered camera systems designed to automatically detect and track Ukrainian drones, a move that underscores how vulnerable these rail-bound assets have become in the age of precision UAV strikes.

Yeah, they might have to resort to destroying the rails ahead of the trains.

Based purely on the number of AA guns, and their arcs of fire, a small swarm of drones is gonna get through, only losing ten to twenty.  Ukraine has taken out one of the trains (granted it was later repaired) and Russia no longer runs them within 20 KM of the front lines anymore.

I dislike this usage of the term “kamikaze”. A Kamikaze attack is one in which a living being makes a suicide strike, not one in which a non-sapient set of hardware and software is all that is risked. If the drones had sapient AI then it might be called a Kamikaze attack.

It could be like the bomb in Dark Star, it sees blowing up as it's purpose. "Let there be light!"

Yeah, there are many people that dislike that term as well. Other options include “first person” and “lotering munition”.  Plus “unmaned expendable attack drone,” which  is what the Sea Baby is.

Russians sunk several barges at the entrance of their naval port pier in Novorossiysk, so that no other Ukrainian drone can enter it. This also confines the remnants of the Russian Black Sea Fleet to this little basin. Russians literally barricaded themselves. Embarrassing..
