The five mile stare: Ellen has just noticed a window in the fourth wall, and is startled that we are observing her game. I would be.

I like the use of scrolls for the opposing plot threads. It fits the theme, and you know right away what happened.

Seem more D&D/Fantasy TTRPGish than the "official version"

Dan did something he doesn't seem to do a lot; most of the art for the two panels is copied from one to the other. Only the left scroll going 'poof!' changes, and even in that, the scroll art looks like a reversed copy of the right hand scroll. It seems like a good move, a time saver and does not detract from the comic.
