I know what you mean, but it's more Catalina that I'd like to have as a friend.  A cat-centric friend would be nice.

Many of the cast are nice to their friends. Camelia didn't know Grace very well, yet accompanied her to the nurse's office. Others have done similar things, but hers stands out, just a bit, less drama, less self-interest.

Of course, the only two that comes close are Grace and Ashley, who are both famed in the story for being "too nice"

I had in mind Elliot stepping in to defend Tedd and Justin, but he also like to fight. 

Catalina defended Rhoda, who she did not know at the time, also did the kiss thing with Elliot to defuse the rumors she contributed to; she's probably closer because of Rhoda.

Grace is genuinely nice, I can't recall her standing up for folks she doesn't know; maybe the massive boar?

Ashley is also nice, did offer to help Elliot with transformations based on Ranma; she didn't really know him at the time.
