Dan, musing and rationalizing his future design, with a warning in the commentary, this will happen again.

1. Squirrel masc

3. Current "I'm not Tedd"
4. The one coming up.

Plus the one time Dan included him self as a back ground character.

You forgot the feminine squirrel form he had during Sister (he only changed to his masculine squirrel form after Sister ended).

Also, it was only for one strip (as far as we know), but Dan's very first in-comic avatar was Grace.

So this is avatar 6 or 7 depending on if we include super smart guy or not. Dan needs make up their mind

First  of all, for any cat-girl form just use the Eartha Kitt voice and everything else will fall into place.

And if it wasn't for the interruptions in the publication schedule, I would suspect that there are actually more than one Dans.

That might be tricky keeping the art style consistent.  Granted they have changed over the years but their current style is constantly the same.

Maybe there are mutiple Dans.  Each one writing different characters & themes.  But only one can draw.

Possible, but unlikely.  The story arcs all seem to be related.  I think there is only one Dan, but they really don't have a good sense of self Identity, which goes with EGS in general.

Dan has implied that most of the main cast are sounding boards for aspects of himself, including but not limited to:

Elliot: Desire to be a strong and caring protector/ally

Tedd: Pervy, experimental side, scientific inclinations, fetish interests

Grace: empathy and public displays of affection, plus the “outsider’s” viewpoint of social conventions

Susan: Introversion, logic, wanting to buck expectations

Ashley: fantasies with the realization that making them real comes with real consequences.

I think we can add "aversion to touching things/people" to Susan's list.  Plus I think it was her that triggered the no doors in public bathrooms rant of Dan.

Oh, sorry, I was thinking of the no-touching as a symptom of the extreme introversion.
