Immortals and popular culture.

“You do this to discuss important issues?”

“Well, we can, but it's mostly a reacting to big TV shows thing.”

So, what other human culture things to immortals like?  Does this even slightly help with boredom, so it could allow stronger, yet not quite so chaotic elder immortals?  Are immortals into “sports ball”?

And, yes, I know that comments are only semi canon at best, and it's only canon if it's in a comic.

Sports & politics are, of course, among the usual suspects for Immortal observer obsession.  But I suspect that Entertainment may be a field they can influence mure directly.

19th Century authors like Dickens would publish novels one chapter at a time in newspapers & magazines. How easy would it be to Guide & Empower a promising novelist into publishing an ongoing story.  Especially if the story was not well liked by the readers or critics but the publisher kept printing new chapters of "A Dark And Stormy Knight" week after week despite the cries from subscribers to just bring back the Wordle puzzle.

While the only “job” we know of for immortals is treasure finder, being a coach of some sorts, being a sports coach or even a life coach would be a good job for a pre change in laws immortal.  Even an acting or voice coach would be good.  Teaching positions in general would also be good fits.

After the change?  I got to think about that.

I took the TV shows comment to be a metaphor, not saying I'm right, just that was my impression.

If it is literal, it's value might be mitigating boredom of the aging immortals, perhaps actually extending their useful viability, which amounts to lifetime.

Hmm, recall, Zeus was interested in partying with humans. Maybe they crave social contact, and have barriers with each other.

Yah, television itself is a relatively recent thing—daily broadcasts weren’t really happening until after WWII. Before that was a few decades of cinema, and before that was novels and the theater.

Radio entertainment was significant for a couple of decades, occupying the niche taken over by video. Before that, families generally had musical equipment and skills; pianos were popular around the turn of the early 1900s.

Of course, Zeus was upset that Jerry that passed on the fact that elves weren't sterile.  I suspect that slowed his party plans down just a bit.  On the other hand, can Immortals control whether they are sterile or not at any given time.  Given that PCR could be a cloud of chaos, making a form that didn't have working bits might not be that hard.
