Filler 12/31/16 - New Year's 2016-2017

Hoo boy... Dexter's not terribly optimistic about 2017. Personally, although I think it would be naive to assume that any problems we had in 2016 will go away by themselves come January first, I'm a bit more hopeful that we as a people can turn things around by getting active and trying to make this world better.

 

While 2016 has had its share of terrible events - from celebrity deaths, to a zoo tragedy becoming a ridiculous meme, to a racist tangerine being elected to the most powerful office in the world - I'm at least glad that I was able to make my own year a little better with my Daily Drawings. It was fun, it got my art a lot of attention, it got me to experiment with my art, and it's the first New Year's resolution I actually kept.

 

That being said - although I may do a few bonus drawings that I owe after New Year's - I do not plan to continue the Daily Drawings into 2017. Instead, I'm going to take some time to focus on improving my writing. As a webcomic creator, art is but half of the equation. I want better dialogue, deeper characters, and more engaging storylines, so I want to get better at writing so that The Heroes of C.R.A.S.H. can continue to improve. I also have a few ideas for other books and projects I'd like to flesh out further, but I'm keeping them under my hat... for now...!
