This Prince must learn to delegate.

If his first reaction is physical effort, then there are obviously not enough people working for him to do those things.

As for how to govern?

Stand up straight.

Shut up.

Look dignified.

Smile, frown, and nod on cue.

And be ready to hand everyone in your court over to the executioner before they do the same to you.

Indeed. Finding trustworthy delegates is tricky though. He doesn't seem to have the maturity for that. The Adrian advisor seems good though.

This is EGS, in a self-described “self-indulgent” arc.  Slow is to be assumed. I'm not sure DS really knows how to pace things.  NP more so than main of late.

Also granting that web comic pacing tends to be much slower that real life, EGS & environs feels to me to be much slower than web comics in general. Or possibly, the time flow of many are similar, but much less seems to be happening within that time. I dunno.

To be fair, comparing newspaper comics, if Peanuts aged in real time, the 'kids' would be geriatric, and Snoopy would be replaced several times.

I give you “The White Board,” which spent about a year and a half on one day of comic time, and “Freefall,” which has only had about 4 months of comic time over the whole of its run as examples of slower web comics.  Or “Kevin and Kell,” which has advanced maybe 4 years comic time since 1995 real time.

Same as how to manage: pick the right people to do the job - and then let them do it.

Also to clamp down on any overt misbehavior by your underlings.

Well, yeah, but I was thinking of Nixon in this case.

Nixon: "I am not a crook!"

Everyone else: "You sure about that?"

The man had positives going, overshadowed by the negatives. Disregard for the law was a noteworthy standout. Remember Watergate?

To be entirely fair, he was not as egregious as Hurricane Donald. We should move this to Political if you want to continue.

I'm sure a big part of the problem is Dan's writing process. Based on commentary, social media posts, etc., while he plans out stories in advance he doesn't nail down every detail, and he rarely has the final script worked out more than a couple pages in advance. This means he doesn't have much of a chance to go over what he's already written looking for what can be cut.

Yeah, he knows what the forest looks like, but he has no idea what the trees look like.  Some times I think he doesn't even know what kind of tree they are.
