The Verres household is gathering in the basement prior to relocating. Agents, including Bishop are present; only Edward and Bishop have been shown so far. I expect more of a crew.

Of all the agents who could have been assigned this case, why Bishop? 

And where is Jeremy?  He is the star witness.

There have been recent complaints that they're shorted-handed. Bishop may have been one of the few agents available. Or, if you want a slightly more sinister explanation, the probably not well hidden antipathy between them means that Bishop can be trusted not to hide anything that Verres might find embarrassing.

They were also on the same assignment, chasing down Magus.

Were they?  It thought the Magus crew was Wolf, Adrian, Abraram, and Vladia, with Edward and Bishop being the only ones not out chasing him.

I suspect that he & Hope are in Hope's room.

I want to see Bishop's reaction when Edward goes over and talks to a solid wall for a moment, and Jeremy (and maybe Hope) steps out of the wall.

Well, from experience, it takes about 3 days to recover from a lightning bolt strike.  Of course, their “bolts” are more like a "taser," so that would affect how long a recovery would take.
