I don't want it to be true, therefore it can not be true.

Nope.  Never knew anyone with that attitude.  No one at all.

Also, Grace said she worked with a fairy.  Not necessarily the fairy involved with this particular shenanigan.  Big carriage could be a Fairy dominated industry.

Is that hilarious hijinks I smell? The sisters suddenly realizing that those two girls on the dance floor are Cinderella and the Prince seems like the premise for some first-rate hijinks!

Yeap.  I expect lots of hijinks Real Soon Now.

Big Ferries are an important part of the transport industry.  Especially if you live on or near islands.

Big Ferries are the current norm, small ferries, once important in the westward expansion, are rare now. Cindertedd's Fairy Godmother is big vs a more traditional fairy such as Tinker Bell. Is this consistent with your theory of the fae?

Much of the NC Outer Banks islands can only be reached by ferry. Those islands tend to be largely unimproved land, but not all.

The Staten Island Ferry in NYC, running between Manhattan and Staten Island is no longer the only route within NYC to Staten Island ever since the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge was completed in the 1960s. In spite of this, it is a popular form of transport, especially for people using the NYC public transportation system. The ride takes nearly a half hour each way, and affords a nice view of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and lower Manhattan. The ride is currently free, I recall it being really inexpensive when I lived there.
