Ellen to the rescue!Advisor Adrian is frustrated with these kids!

"Kids, what's the matter with kids back then?

Kids, what's the matter with kids back then?

Why can't they be just like Adrian, perfect in every way?

What's the matter with kids back then?"

"Bye, bye, Tessie,

He's gonna miss you so,

Bye. bye, Tessie,

Hate to see you go!"

(crowd of ladies seeking the prince)

"We love you Elliot, we do,

We love you Elliot, it's true, . . ."

Hmm, this all sounds familiar . . .

The puppy eyes just do not work for the Prince.

Also, did no one tell the Princess the real reason for the ball?

And if this is Bye Bye Birdie, is Adrian's part being played be Dick Van Dyke or Paul Lynde?

She does seem a bit clueless about that.  We will see Saturday what's up.  Maybe.

Yes!

On further consideration, the song would tie Adrian to Albert, who was played by Dick Van Dyke.

I thought that the nobles had liked her being  “good friends with the foreign princess”

Yeah, they do.  And I didn't notice that the ball was on the king's order.  This AU's Elliot and Ellen's father, obviously, isn't “our” Mr. Dunkel.
