The Princess is not happy. 

The convention of "Happily Ever After" is not common in most folk and fairy tale traditions.  I bring this up to say that I can for see a traditional but unpleasant fate befalling all involved characters as much more likely at this point than any sort of Happy Ending.

It's an Victorian English thing, compounded by the house of the mouse.

If this was anybody but DS, I might agree.  And if it was any characters other than Tedd and Elliot.
