Hope didn't open the box. She just freaked out when she saw it and how well Pandora guarded it.

Also, basic physics says that she would not be knocked back by the bag's return swing.  Of course, we are talking about a magical being, so it's possible that the laws of nature don't apply.

So we have gone from Pandora's Box to Pandora's Boxing.

We are anticipating Rocky references.

Are "Gonna Fly Now" and "Eye Of The Tiger" inspirational training themes for someone who can fly and turn into a tiger?

And Rocky didn't punch a heavy bag.  No, he punched a side of beef in the cooler.

Unless DS was implying Rocky the Flying Squirrel references . . . .

In at least one movie he did.

Of course this could be a Rambo movie still.

OK, Balboa used a bag.

But the meat is more interesting.

And you have a few hundred pounds of Philly Cheese Steak ready to cook when you're done.

Now where did I leave those hoagie rolls?

You can get "The Meat" action figures.

We're also talking about a being with not a lot of experience with basic physics. Quite possibly she was off-balance enough that the bag could legitimately knock her back.

Unless she took a step forward, the swing back could not hit her.  However she was shown as running towards it, so she might have taken a step forward.

She was also emotionally “off balance” and thus not guarding against the swing-back. Her action is very much “I am so upset that I need to hit something right now”.

Unless she moved closer, physics says it's not going to hit her via swing back.

It looked like she was charging at the bag, so it’s quite plausible that she took an additional step forward after making contact with it.

Hmm.  Given her weight and the weight of a heavy bag, it's more likely she bounced off it, and that's why she is on the ground.  Or DS hasn't taken freshman physics yet.  My money is on the 2nd, TBH.
