Grace is our bubbly extrovert, and something of a social butterfly at school.

But just because she talks to a lot of people doesn't mean they're all her friends. She has too much to hide to be able to have a deep, strong friendship with most of them.

Tedd has had a lot of personal growth to give up “his” basment so that Grace can have people by.

Nanase is Tedd's cousin. 

Elliot and Sarah have been Tedd's friends since early childhood.  

Grace was a nearly naked girl who showed at his door one night. 

These are the people Tedd regards as "his" friends.  

While he is friendly with others, they are all people Tedd met and interacts with through the first four.  So he still thinks of them as "their" friends. 

Grace is well aware of Tedd's introverted nature.  But she is still concerned.

It could be argued that Tedd met Ellen separately from Elliot.

Yeah, but she entered Elliot's sphere through Tedd.

At first Tedd thought of her as an extension of Elliot.  

Once he accepted that she was her own person, Ellen became Elliot's sister.
