It can be easier to behave more socially while masked.  But why is she masked?

Party? Halloween? Mardi Gras? Carnival? Renaissance Faire? School event? Infiltrating a supervillain convention?

Also, glad to see the Canon Cannon is back.  The author may not think it necessary, but Pirate Grace is always welcome.

Having nothing to do with this arc, which is just getting started after all, I'm glad that The Dan declared that  Paranormal Helpline was canon.  I hope this means we will see more of Serena and Bubbles.

I am assuming the “mask” is a surface persona (or “character”) that Jay is presenting, like an actor in a role, and not a physical mask that she had over her face, and we are only seeing it as such for illustrative purposes.

As a Canon comic without rounded fantasy borders, I'm guessing this is a WYSIWYG scene.

Unless & until the author says otherwise.

She talked about masks in “Hope” when talking to Susan.  I don't think those pannels had rounded borders either.  <Goes off to check>  Well, sort of.  Only the bottom corners were rounded.    Of course the whole of “Hope” was a bit weird on what did or didn't get rounded corners.
