The evolving art of EGS

13 posts in this topic

I've for a long time now enjoyed the ongoing evolution and growth of Dan's artwork. Today I did something on the spur of the moment: compared today's strip with the very first one. It is happy chance that they both even feature the same characters.

When compared in this way, the changes are... shall we say, noticeable. :)

EGS is right up there with Questionable Content and Schlock Mercenary for best improvement of art from their first strip to now.

It's very common for comic artists--especially big-name ones--to have assistants do part of the artwork.

Fortunately, Mr. Shive is probably one of the "stable" ones that can remember which of his assistants are separate individuals and which are other facets of his personality....
